Missing companions and death

A great read. A plot of revenge, murder and harassment.
It started off as a case of two missing family pets but grew into a fight between her, her nemesis and a wannabe. The situation is further complicated by a PI with no scruples, her mother's baking, a homeless man and his dog plus a dead body in her shop. Not only a dead body but her shop interior has been trashed. Most of her stock has been destroyed, her security system ripped out and a little boy left motherless.
Can they fix things before Christmas? With only a few days left they have little time to do so? Plus can they fix a problem at the shop? One not involved with the destruction but with having a magical door?
It was an entertaining read but the story just got a bit too convoluted and frankly parts of it didn't make sense, add up but the feel good factor at the end was great.
