FRIDA CHOSEN TO DIE… DESTINED TO LIVE! Frida Umuhoza witnessed the brutal massacre of her entire family by Hutu men during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda. She received a blow to the head and neck by a young man holding a club that was intended to kill her. She was then buried alongside her 15 family members in a trench. Regaining consciousness some time later, Frida was eventually helped from the grave by a young man who worked for her family.
Only Frida survived.
This book tells the true, harrowing story of Frida’s survival amid the horror of what took place during the genocide against the Tutsis, as well as her journey of salvation, healing and transformation through forgiveness. In the face of unspeakable adversity, Frida’s story is one of resilience, hope and God’s grace.
This was a brilliant book to read. I was encouraged to read her story a true account of survival and how she tries to push God out only for God to never give up pursuing her. Her reliance on God through the most challenging trials did such an encouragement
3.6 starts easy book to read, we read it for our book club. It is extraordinary the things a human being can survive. Bless Frida, her courage and thank you for writing the book.
No es que el libro sea una obra maestra de la escritura pero como testimonio de lo que vivieron los Tutsi durante y después del genocidio en Rwanda sí me parece clave. Recomendable.
