Well hello there and thanks for popping by. My name is Wendy Jo Peterson and I am a culinary trained registered dietitian nutritionist. I’ve been practicing as a dietitian for over 20 years and have been teaching culinary arts since 2003. In 2012, my career turned more toward professional speaking and writing, from television appearances to speaking around the globe. I have since published 7 books and have written for many magazine publications. Professionally today I work mostly on recipe development, collaborating with culinary-focused brands, writing, speaking, and consulting in the realm of nutrition.
Work doesn’t define me. I also happen to be a mama to an adorable daughter and 2 rescued labs. My husband and I have been a team since 1994, and I’ve enjoyed supporting his near 30 year career in the military. We’ve lived all over the US and in Europe, and have enjoyed traveling the world together.
As for my hobbies, I have too many! ha! From sewing to hiking and adventure exploring in our campervan. Currently we live on the beach in SoCal, so you can often find me at the beach, in my garden, or walking my pups to the local playground.Credit: Dummies
I've been looking at many air fryer cookbooks to learn how to use the one I got as a gift. This cookbook wouldn't be a bad choice overall. There are a huge number of recipes and a lot of variety. It's very straightforward and there are no pictures. It would be a good general choice if you can't get the one put out by America's Test Kitchens, Air Fryer Perfection (my personal top choice!)
I gave myself a small air fryer for my birthday. At first I only used it to prepare frozen foods and such. When I started preparing recipes from scratch I started exploring the cookbooks. This was one of my favorites, even though it lacked photos. The first part of the book has the basics of how to use the fryer, how to set up a pantry, and how to deal with specialized diets. The recipes are quite doable and tasty. My favorite section is always the Rule of Tens and this one is particularly good.
I am enjoying this cookbook, which I originally borrowed from the library, and then purchased a copy for myself. I wish I had read it before I bought mine, because it is full of hints about buying one. It has helped me understand how to use the fryer, and offered great recipes. I recommend this for any one beginning to use this new tool.
A decent book for basic air frying information. Some interesting recipes and tips (learned to blanch basil leaves in order to keep the green color when making pesto). Because it was the Kindle edition, I can't vouch for the photos. I like recipe books with good photos.
