I'm the author of seventy-something novels, including romance, women's fiction and mystery. When We Were Sisters debuted in June 2016, a stand alone novel about two foster sisters traveling back into their past together. I loved writing it and love the cover my publisher chose.

I'm also excited about my recent series, Goddesses Anonymous, which started with One Mountain Away and was followed by Somewhere Between Luck and Trust. The third book in the series, A River Too Wide, came out in July 2014. The Color of Light debuted in August 2015. Will there be more? We'll see.

I'm also putting up my newly edited romance backlist and love re-reading and updating them a bit.

Last year my husband and I moved from Virginia, to Osprey, Florida, the state where both of us were raised, met, and married. In the summer we live in Chautauqua, New York. I'm a quilter, knitter, kayaker, and the mother of four children, whom I regard as my greatest creative endeavors. And now there are four wonderful grandchildren to spoil.

Once More with Feeling by Emilie Richards
Elisabeth gave up her career to raise her son Grant and to entertain her husband Owen's clients.
He is a world known architect and their son left home to live near where he teaches in the Bronx.
She is at odds with herself just writing her one column a month and knows if she had continued with
her career she'd be as good and famous as Gypsy Dugan is on her talk show.
Then the car crash happens and it seems as if Elisabeth is living in the body and life of Gypsy but she knows nothing of her life or career and she attempts to keep track of what's going on with the real body of Elisabeth still in the hospital.
She does not remember her apartment, simple cuz she is not Gypsy but she strives to get better and do Gypsy's job as if it was her own. Dating scene is another major problem as she's been married for too many years to count when the last time she
went out on a date.
Some one is still after Gypsy according to messages left and being followed and them going through her security but she tries not to think of that as she gets back to the career she never had.
After another life altering health issue she reaches out to her best friend ever Marg and explains what has happened and hopes she will help her with Elisabeth.
Love all the technical things in the background of producing a TV show, ah the things one learns.
Layout of the gardens with trees and landscaping is very knowledgeable.
Love reading about all the glamour of the high end lifestyle of Owen and his wife. I can just dream for a bit.
Like how the ending goes and how it's all connected to the title.

Have you ever wished you were someone else, someone you consider better in many ways? But do you possess what it takes to be that person? Careful what you wish for, it could just happen as it does in “Once More with Feeling”. This is one woman's fantasy upon reaching middle age and questioning her purpose in life now that her son is grown and husband is highly successful, what if things had been different. What if she hadn't given up her dreams for her family. What if?????
I find Emilie Richards books are a lot like a beautiful quilt. They wrap us in warmth and comfort and then you turn the page or your body and the comfort is gone and you are exposed to the elements. She will surprise you, excite you, anger you, sadden you and maybe even shock you but she will keep you turning the pages until the very end when you are again wrapped in comfort. I have never read an Emilie Richards book that I didn’t enjoy and I've read quite a few of her more than 70 books of both mystery and romance!

The two main characters of this book are Gypsy, who is a TV tabliod news anchor and Elisabeth, a NY City blueblood who has spent her 50 odd years making nice, being a hostess, raising her son and in short, giving up all her desires for her family. The two women "meet" when they are in an auto accident in which they are both seriously injured. They meet as they are traveling toward "the light". Eventually, Elizabeth returns to earth---but in Gypsy's body, not hers. Everyone thinks she is Gypsy, and Elizabeth's body is still alive, down the hall, but she is in a coma. Gypsy's body recovers, and Elizabeth goes to Gyspy's life in it; Elizabeth's body goes to a nursing home. Since one of the denied dreams of Elizabeth was journalism, she takes to Gypsy's life with gusto, but still longs for parts of hers. The book calls for a certain suspension of disbelief, but once accomplished it leads you to ponder "What if" with regard to supressed goals. It was a light easy read, with romance, but definitely not formula fiction.

An interesting exploration of a debutantes dissatisfaction with life. A quirk of fate forces the main character to change places with someone she has envied in a completely unexpected way.

Pretty good, but it didn't draw me in like I wanted it to. It ended strangely as well...
