What a beautiful, inspirational story from one of my favorite authors. I loved her focus on the challenges our veterans face and the impacts to their faith. I also loved how she addressed the struggles concerning survivor's guilt. This story reminds us about what Thanksgiving is really about, the importance of forgiveness, and the abundance of God's grace.

To be honest, while I liked this book, I think it could have been 'more'. I feel like we were being told what happened, rather than being shown how and why it did. I especially wish that we had seen more of what Evan's return to faith looked like, rather than being told that he had returned.
I know that these LI books are meant to be light, wholesome, romantic reads, and this book definitely fills that purpose. But, at the same time, I think there were nuances to this story that deserved to be explored more than the author had the opportunity to do.

Wow, an amazingly designed story about love of faith, family, and forgiveness ❤️...

Each character is quite creative, uniquely captivating, and unconditionally caring for the well-being of the other. I love ❤️ how sweet, thoughtful, and respectful Julia and Evan are towards the other family. 💕 💗 💖 💓 ❤️... I also admired the friendships and the unbreakable bond between Ellie and Paige.

I'm always very excited and very proud to read Ms. Daley's books, so therefore, I highly recommend this story....

This is a refreshingly honest yet still sweet romance between to single parents with to pretty little girls. One thing I like about the books this author writes is that they always have some sort of message in them, some thought to urge us closer to God and to each other. This book urged me to dig deeper in my heart to find areas where I have not forgiven either someone else or myself. This is more than a feel good read, but it sure does feel good to read it. :-)

This is a nice story to read at Thanksgiving time. It touches on the powerful emotions that can be brought about by being in a military family, even when the soldier has been discharged. It also shows the damage that can be done to an unwed mother. The children's lived are deeply affected too. The author highlights how important it is to give things to God.

This is a sweet story. I would have preferred for it to take place over a longer time frame. I felt it wasn't realistic for the relationship to develop so much within one month of Evan and Julia becoming acquainted.

Evan Paterson, rancher, and Julia Saunders, social worker, meet at a church picnic when they are assigned to work the Show and Pet booth. They each have a 5 year old daughter in the same kindergarten class. The girls are best friends and are constantly bringing their parents together. In exchange for riding lessons for her daughter, Julia agrees to teach Evan to cook, so his mother-in-law does not need to provide their meals. Evan is ex-military with some issues relating to his late wife and his MIA soldier sister. Julia had a baby out of wedlock and abandoned by the child's father, then disowned by her parents. She has moved to Texas to start fresh. Lots of issues to be resolved before this inspirational romance can get moving.

a quick, easy, lite read.

would have liked it more, i think, if either of the main characters had been more known in the previous books, i believe. i'm sure some of that, tho, is due to the fact that each book has a different author. it's probably a little difficult picking up someone else's thread to continue knitting a story, so to speak

not sorry i read it, tho, and it won't stop me from looking forward to the rest of the books in the series, tho.

A man with a daughter, a woman with a daughter, and both with a past of desertion. Whis is a situation only God can untangle. This is an inspirational romance that was enjoyable to read as the faith of both are restored and families are healed.
