Excellent introduction to the Macchi C. 202 Folgore & C. 205 Veltro series. The 202 Folgore is my favorite Italian aircraft of the war, hard to argue with it. Its clean lines coupled with good to great performance just screamed 'Made in Italy' thoroughbred at me from a young age.
In general the "In Action" series is a bit pale when considering how colorful it could truly be. Squadron/Signal has a great concept at work but the execution needs an over haul.
A break down of this particular book consist of a brief Introduction, the C.202 in production, C.202 in combat, in Africa, over Malta, Russian adventure, in Tunisia, from C.202 to C.205, the defense Of Italy, with The Allies, in the North, and Final Development. All of the previously mentioned sections are extremely brief, not yielding the information deserved to this particular aircraft.
This book is full of nice B/W photos and there are some color plates found toward the center section of the book, the back cover also displays a nice color plate offering some nice information such as a "canopy lock warning plate', "Cowling Gun synchronization plate", and some fuselage markings.
When compared to the C.205 Walk Around this book fall's short in every category, but when compared to the Profile Publication pamphlet (which I gave 3 stars) this book holds it's own.
