Hidden Currents
Hidden Currents is the first in the new Lantern Beach Mysteries by Christy Barritt. I absolutely loved this story. I couldn't put it down. Cassidy, a detective from Seattle, is on the run from a dangerous gang who wants her dead. She is hiding out in a small town in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Not long after she arrives, a murder takes place and Cassidy can't help but try to solve it. It's just in her blood! Even though they got off to a rocky start, she ends up teaming up with her neighbor Ty, a former Navy Seal, to help figure out who the murderer is. All the while, Cassidy has to continue to watch her back to make sure no one has figured out where she is. This novel is full of nail-biting suspense, quirky characters, and even an ice cream truck full of mystery.
Flood Watch
Flood Watch is the second in the Lantern Beach Mysteries by Christy Barritt. This was a great follow-up to Hidden Currents. I just couldn't put it down. Cassidy, a detective from Seattle, is on the run from a dangerous gang who wants her dead. She is still hiding out in a small town in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She teams up again with her neighbor Ty, a former Navy Seal, to help their friend who is accused of being involved in the disappearance of one her competitors. Cassidy puts her detective skills to work again to help her friend. All the while, Cassidy has to continue to watch her back to make sure no one has figured out where she is. This novel is full of nail-biting suspense, quirky characters, budding romance, and even an ice cream truck full of mystery.

Storm Surge, book 3 in the Lantern Mysteries series, is a great addition to the series. As I have come to expect, it is fast-paced, full of mystery, and full of the same fabulous and somewhat quirky characters I have grown to love. This series is a must-read! You will not be disappointed!

It's not that it's bad it's just that it's not a good representation of this authors work. It's a cute light read you can't take seriously because it's just filled with too many eye rolling, unbelievable incidents. It is a continual saga I will probably not finish at this point but I will check out some of this authors other works.

HIDDEN. CURRENTS
Cassidy, waiting for back up, thinking it was the end for her. A chance and she took it, to disable the leader. Now a bounty is on her head, new location, new name. Some things never change, will her curiosity win out, when murder happens where she is at. Meeting with Ty sets angry sparks when they first meet. For Ty he didn’t need that in his life. He chose this small quiet place so he wouldn’t have flash back from the war yet, fireworks happen each time he sees here. Another good story by the author.
FLOOD WATCH
Cassidy can’t help herself from investigating, when her friend Skye.comes for help. Skye is barely making ends meet with selling local produce. When a city slicker sets up a custom stand, drives a facey car, and renting an expensive beach house. What really angered Skye he would sell them lower price. Cassidy with Ty and Mac they are checking into what happened at the rental house. Now Sky is missing. Ty parents came to visit him, with the though from what Ty had mention Cassidy was his girlfriend. A lot happens in book two, was there another murder, Cassidy is full of mystery, Ty thinks.

Book 1:
I love lantern beach and Cassidy. I’m not sure how I feel about this whole cult thing as the next evil on the island. I know that stuff is out there but I don’t like the idea of the island being tainted like that. Kind of a bummer. I still liked the book and it has a ton of suspense and action. I even like the newest member of the police force that is going to be good I think! Just not so excited about this cult story line we will see where the Author takes us....
Book 2:
Wow these books are getting good. Just when I think I can’t fall in love with another series and another set of characters I read a book like this. This one will keep you on your toes and ready to jump right in to the next one! I plan to do just that. It was amazing I loved it!
Book 3:
Wow this series is so amazing! I couldn’t put this one down and binge read it as much as possible. I finished in a day! Love the edge of your seat suspense. I’m hoping for great things for both Ty and Cassidy. Can’t wait for the next one in this series!

Thta’s all Cassidy is supposed to do. With a $1,000,000 bounty on her head anything else wouldn’t be wise. But there are bad guys getting away with crimes even in tiny Lantern Beach and the police chief’s nickname is Bozo for a good reason. So Cassidy has no choice but to find ways to bring the bad guys to justice while still maintaining her ice cream lady persona. And did I mention her possibly haunted ice cream truck?

Excellent stories that kept me wanting more
I found it a little frustrating that it took so long to wrap up the overall story, which is the reason for my 3 star rating. There is one over all story that continues through the books, forcing you to read the entire series if you want to know what happens to the characters. That’s a lot of reading. Each individual book has a story that reaches a conclusion, so that’s a plus.

Don’t start if you think the bookies going end...
I vowed to never read any more books that were part of a series. They leave at a rather unsatisfying abrupt end for the main characters. If you really like them, you are set up read the next installment. This was a good, well-written book and with an ending that truly ended would have gotten 4 stars...

Fabulous Clean Mysteries
This is a great start to a series, where Cadey/Cassidy was a policewoman, but has to go into hiding. She can’t figure out how to not be involved and gets in trouble a few times, but also saves the day. It’s interesting how smart she is in some ways and just not able to notice other things!

Pleasant Read
These books are good. Fairly standard storyline, you usually can guess what is happening, but they have just enough excitement to make them an enjoyable read. Fairly well written, set in a very small beach town you can easily picture.

I honestly get tired of some of the more mature content put in books nowadays but I really like how Christy Barritt doesn't write like that. Her books are entertaining and fun to read and I look forward to reading more of her books!

Perfect read!
This book/series had all the elements a perfect story should! Suspense, mystery, romance, fun characters, setting, all against a secret, totally unsuspected past. I’m so glad there are a lot more books to get through in this series!

The story was good. It's definetly a light read You don't have to think too hard with this book. It all just fits together.

This is a great new series by Barritt. So exciting, you won’t be able to put them down. Cassidy is hiding from a gang that want to kill her, and has to try and lay low, despite being a Seattle detective and seeing opportunities to solve crimes while staying on Lantern Beach. Excitement at every turn as the gang get closer to her until it seems there is no escape.
