Boxed Set Includes Books 1 - 7, Plus 3 Shorts

A set of naughty ubernaturals, a demon-powered mage, and wealthy amalgamite playboy who is far more than he seems. This Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department box set gives you 7 full novels and three bonus short stories, all filled with action-packed, hilarious adventure!

Ian Dex is a genetically engineered man who has abilities from all classes in the spectrum. He's also the chief of the Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department (PPD). His job is to monitor all supernaturals and their involvement in the world of normals.

Book 1: The Merging
A new breed of supernaturals has turned up and they're a lot tougher to deal with than your run-of-the-mill vampires and werewolves. These are larger, tougher, and stronger...and they laugh at wood and silver bullets.

Book 2: Grave Creatures
An old necromancer has been summoning the dead. His goal is to overrun the world, one city at a time. Too bad he started in Vegas.

Book 3: Blood Bane Tower
Ian Dex is no stranger to dealing with death, destruction, and mayhem. But there's something entirely different about chasing a fang-wielding vampire and staring down the throat of a dragon. Even worse is when that dragon is hovering over you on the edge of the Badlands, right next to the entrance of hell.

Book 4: London Growl
There is a new uberwolf who has taken over the werewolves of London and he's bent on proving that he is the most powerful creature in all of the supernatural community.

Book 5: Swarm of Fire
A foul-mouthed pixie has hit the streets in Vegas to stir up trouble. He's tiny, angry, and full of magic dust. His primary goal is to wreak as much havoc as possible on the tourists and casinos

Book 6: Curse of Fangs
When Las Vegas Paranormal Police Chief Ian Dex is injected with a healthy dose of vampire venom, he gains access to power like he's never known. He's faster, stronger, and his ability to do magic is on the rise, too.

Book 7: Clash of Flames
Four amalgamites are searching for their brother and they're willing to kill the cops in the Las Vegas PPD to get to him.

Bonus 1: The Bleeding
Even Ian Dex had to go through cadet training in the Netherworld PPD.

Bonus 2: The Chief
Ian wasn't always the chief of the Vegas PPD. Here's how he got there.

Bonus 3: Blind Date
Ian's crew sets him up on a blind date. It was was going fantastically well...until she got kidnapped.

The Paranormal Police Department has delighted thousands of readers with action, adventure, outrageous (and often offensive) comedy, and tons of snark. Grab your badge and join the legion of fans who keep begging for more...

Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department: Ian Dex Unleashed Box Set (#1-7)
by John P. Logsdon Christopher P. Young
I got this to listen to when I wasn't feeling well. Thought it would cheer me up. It does have humor in it but some of it is very juvenile and sexual in nature. But some of it is cute. The main character is so into himself it's crazy. He is a mix of all super beings and the only one known of his kind, until the end of the book! He blames his hybrid nature for being hyper sexed.
Ian Dex is the main character and has a crew of supernaturals that fight all sorts of things throughout the book. Zombies, Super Pixies, Super Vampires, a Queen Dragon, and more. There's lots of action, silliness, crazy situations, and fun dialogue.
I gave it a 3 1/2 rounding up to 4 stars.
The author did his own narration and was pretty good except with females and really needed a female narrator to do that job! Lol!
It was entertaining and I have read a couple of books by these authors. I will read or listen to more.

Ian's Big One (Supernatural Urban Fantasy Thriller Books 1 - 7, Plus 3 Shorts!) (Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department Box Sets) is the same as Ian Dex Urban Fantasy Box Set (10 Supernatural Thriller Books) (Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department Box Sets Book 3) on amazon, and not only is that messed up but also Bonus 1: The Bleeding is actually more like 0.1, Bonus 2: The Chief more like 0.2, and Bonus 3: Blind Date more maybe as does not really fit, 0.3, and these being shoved into back with 1-7 being in front just does not make sense continuity wise or any other way. I noticed right away but if had not would have been way ticked, as order matters, except for blind date which was not any good, and overall re-reading these, regardless of order, did NOT hold up, and if can not read a book more than once, it is not a very good book.

Format: audiobook

Absolutely fantastic series. I can’t recommend it enough.

I have to say I’m so glad I came across this series, I was looking for something different and this certainly fit the bill with its it’s fun and sarcastic humour.
Bk 1: The Merging
This is a fantastic unit of the paranormal police department. Ian Dex is great character and I love the sarcastic humour from him and his team throughout the story even facing a deadly mage and his demons doesn’t dampen the humour.
I love that it’s the author narrating, he has a fantastic delivery and we get to experience the characters as the author intended them to be.

Bk 2: Grave Creatures
When Ian Dex gets a call about Zombies he thinks his team is playing at prank but nope, that’s not the case. Cue all the graveyard humour from the sarcastic leader of the PPD. My favourite being ‘When it come to cemetery’s I guess people were just dying to get in there’ 😂 I love the nick names Ian Dex gives the bad guys, in this book it’s ‘s#it face Fred’ the necromancer.

Bk 3: Blood Bane Tower
Ian Dex and his team need to defeat a dragon queen but before that he’ll need to navigate the 9 circles of hell leading to some hilarious exploits.
This really makes for an awesome audiobook especially with the author narrating.

Bk 4: London Growl
Ian Dex finds himself in London facing his most challenging nemesis so far, The humour never stops though and having sidekicks of a wannabe Sean Connery as 007 and a wannabe Sherlock Holmes makes for an interesting annoyance to Dex.

Bk 5: swarm of fire
An Uber Pixie is the one cause havoc here, the visual is hilarious and the final battle to this story was not what I expected and I have to admit had me chuckling.
I’m loving this series.

Bk 6: curse of fangs
An Uber vampire is causing havoc but on top of that Ian Dex has some personal changes to get to grips with! But with all this weird stuff going on who can he trust. These are great stories but the humour and sarcasm really adds to the enjoyment.

Bk 7: Clash of flames
There’s some revelations in this book that leaves Ian Dex with some tough choices! Along with the drama the humour and sarcasm continues.
The Kevin and the catapult bit had me spitting coffee, it tickled my funny bone, and watch out for how Ian tries to unlock a rune 😂 I need more of this author’s wit and delivery. I’ll certainly be looking for my next read by him.

Bonus story: The Bleeding
This story gives us a glimpse of Ian Dex as a trainee in the nether world PPD before he moves topside. a great short story showing up what Dex can do.

Bonus story: The Chief
Ian Dex is 2 years in to his role in the PPD and this story explains the event which led to him becoming chief

Bonus story: Blind Date
Omg, the author/narrator lost it and started laughing at a hilarious point in the story before recovering his composure and continued. I’m glad they left that in.
Ian Dex has a run in with ‘Kidnap Jack’ this leads to some funny interactions between the two. I’m loving Ian Dex and his sarcasm.

Ian Dex Extraordinaire

What can I said this Box Set was the bomb! i first found the authors through the NYPPD series and loved their work, is quirky and makes fun of just about every stereotype with fantastic storylines included. I finished that whole set and found out there were many other PPDs from the recommendations at the end of that series, so had to try them in order.
I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive, I might not like the next series of characters as much but I have been pleasantly surprised to find out, I do like them. Now I am off to read the next set of Ian Dex books and see what Wynn has in store for the LVPPD

A must have Collection

A must have and must read for those who have came across the PPD world, as the original precinct and instigating character starts an Immersive look into a great world of Magic, action and Myths of the paranormal. The size of this collection also makes for a fulfilling and engrossing read at a great price and with so many fans and successful authors involved in the overall PPD also something for everyone.

Main character was the draw!

So Ian was the original draw. Love the idea of him. Would have loved to see more about the rest of the team. Yeah I get it .... Ian is hyper sexualized, but sadly that was a little bit of a detriment to this omnibus. Juvenile humor 👍 horn dog 👍 using that as an escape to avoid the development of the potentially really interesting characters (um Warren???), not so cool. Do both!!!!

Sheer escapism

What more could you want? A dishy detective who is more than he seems, an evil mastermind hell bent on destruction, bosses who know more than they’re letting on and a team of colleagues who will go to the end of the world for him. Throw in some magic and comedy and you have a set of books you can loose yourself in for hours. Absolutely loved them, John P Logsdon at his best.

mages, pixies and bad guys oh my

Really enjoyed this series. I appreciate that whilst the authors have naughty bits between characters, most is left to the imagination instead of the full out porn some authors feel they need.
I especially love the snark involved with Ian and his PPD crew and well anyone else.
The price is a little steep but the stories seem to be worth the read so grab yourself the whole set and strap on your seatbelt the ride gets a little wild.

Great boxset

I love the stories about the Las Vegas PPD but then who wouldn't - vampires ,mages, pixies and all other kinds of supernatural mixing it up with a bunch of heroic cops who are trying to keep magic under the radar. This box set is great value for money so give it a try

Hilarious urban fantasy series

Rachel, Ian and the Vegas PPD are hilarious. Lots of adolescent humor. Pixies ate the best. Mayhem, sexy, action, intrigue and more hilarity. Fun, quirky urban fantasy.

What a wild ride! Absolutely entertaining.

This is an interesting twist on paranormal detectives. Setting the series in Las Vegas gives it an intriguing background.
The characters are quite interesting on their own, but mix well to become an enticing ensemble.

Interesting

Lighthearted urban fantasy - definitely not thrillers or hilarious. I was invested enough in the characters that I was curious where it was going. Not sure yet if I’ll read the next series.

Complete sexism

There is a sexy urban fantasy and there is sexist. The main character is a pig and overly sex minded. Leave this one for the Junior High school kids. Not for me.

Question: would you enjoy 'comedy' books where the biggest (and persistently reused) joke was the main character talking with his penis (and yes - it talks back). Unless your answer is a resounding yes then avoid like the plague - because that's the highpoint.
