Sophie didn’t know Animage Academy would change her life forever.

Acceptance into Animage Academy, the elite school for supernatural shifters, has always been the dream for twins Sophie and Simon. For Sophie, it was meant to be a chance to step out from behind the shadow of her father and brother. But when it’s time for the Revealing Ceremony, Sophie gets in. Simon doesn’t.

When Sophie shifts for the first time, she unwillingly steps into the role her brother has been training for his whole life. As Sophie learns more about the supernatural society she's supposed to lead, she begins to see the cracks in the secret world they’ve built. Does keeping the supernatural community safe mean sacrificing everything she wants? Including her friends?

Dragons and Destiny is book one of the Animage Academy series. If you love reading about shifters, adventure, and strong heroines, this is the book for you.

Being a dragon shifter comes with a lot of responsibility and problems. Just before her sixteenth birthday Sophie learns she is an animage. A witch who can shift into an animal. Her twin brother Simon fails the test so for the first time they will be at separate schools. At the Animage Academy she makes several friends right away. But then she learns something about her dragon shifter ability and starts secretly meeting with students like her. One of them is Drew who shows a romantic interest in her. But her euphoria about being a dragon shifter and having good friends quickly disappears. Some of the students and faculty are working against the council. They want to expose themselves to humans and live freely, and they will not hesitate to hurt anyone who gets in their way. Who can Sophie trust? Sophie and Simon are twins and are about to find out if they are revealed. Oh what an exciting event for them. Although I gotta say I was extremely disappointed in their parents. I mean I understand expected one to follow int he family but when you have twins you shouldn’t treat them differently in this aspect. Animage Academy sounds like a wonderful and beautiful place to go. With all the background and descriptions I felt like I was actually there. Sophie doesn’t know what she’ll shift into and when she does it’s a surprise to everyone! The things Sophie had to endure was a shame although I believe it made her stronger and her friendships stronger as well. When it ended I was like NOOOOO !!!! I wanted more with all the excitement for the last 1/4 of the book. I wanted to know more about what happened to the school...I’m not sure if it’ll be answered but I sure hope so. Recommend Reading

Sophie is the first female dragon shifter of her father's blood line, a role her twin brother had been groomed for. Now at the elite Animage Academy, Sophie will learn the magic of shifting and the responsibilities that come with it. She makes new friends (and maybe an enemy or two) and helps solve a mystery that could have ended in expulsion from the academy. A great start for this new series. I really liked it!

I thought this book was excellent. It was well written and the characters and story were well developed. I loved the individual character personalities and enjoyed watching the character dynamics alter and develop. The story was action packed and full of suspense, intrigue, emotion and hot chemistry. I look forward to future books in this series!! I’d highly recommend this book!!

3.5 stars

There was some interesting world-building to this story, but I feel like there could have been a bit more depth added to the world-building to give us more of a feel for what was going on. It found a lot of the plot (and what I think should have been twists) to be really predictable. I kept waiting for something to really surprise me in the story, but it just seemed like it was too expected. The story was still a good read despite the predictability of the story, and there is the potential for some twists to come in the series. I did think Sophie was a well-done teen character. She came across with a good mix of emotions and insecurities, but a deeper strength that shows the person she has the potential to become. There is a good core set of secondary characters, but I think they could use a bit more depth in the coming stories.

As I had an ARC edition, my review is based on the story and not any editing.

Simon and Sophie are twins and for years Simon was being groomed to be the Dragon of the family but the night of the revealing Sophie became the Dragon and went to the animage school and met some good friends but then they fought and Sophie became an outcast and then Hudson kissed her and they became friends again to find out the wards were down and that is how the humans were able to see them. Awesome book I want more please.

I loved this series. The world and the characters were interesting and fun to read. I liked how the twist was at the beginning and Sophie ends up the Animage instead of her brother and then the story becomes wore interesting. Many parts made me laugh out loud and groan. It had the typical teenage angst that caused me to laugh. There was some tension and a bit of mystery and suspense as Sophie learns some hard truths. But I really enjoyed it and found it to be quite addicting and an easy read. Cannot wait to see what happens next.

A fun and interesting tale
“Dragons and Destiny” is the first book in an exciting paranormal series that has an interesting storyline plot that has drama, action and peer pressure and the normal struggles of being a teen. The main character Sophie and the secondary characters are well-rounded and authentic teens with the usual teenage insecurities, peer pressure and over the top emotions. I love this tale and highly recommend it.

I am a huge academy fan! This was a great read. Sophie and Simon are who find out that they're witches and will be able to shift. Not to give too many spoilers Sophie shifts and goes to the academy. It's a beautiful place taht was so wonderfully created I feel like I was there. The characters were well developed and I loved the dynamics of this story as it progressed.

Simplistic but entertaining

Definitely a pre-teen to young teen audience but it was enjoyable enough. Some weird phrasing here and there, and a couple of edits needed.

Overall the plot is very simple and easy to follow.

I Like this book where it was written really well with a believable plot and story with great characters that were well thought out though the story seems fairly short as though it should have been longer.

A coming of age story about a group of sixteen year olds and their first year at the Animage Academy. I really like Sophie and her three best friends, Hudson, Gracie and Willa. It was pretty cool to think of a school for magical shifters of all types. A nice read for young teens.

Animage Academy

Wonderful story. New characters. Save the world story line. The writing is riveting, spellbinding, action filled with slow romance building.
