Broom Service is Book 5 in the Sea Witch Cozy Mystery Series.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!

I was so happy to read about more adventures with Goldie Bloom and her friends.
Goldie is a Sea Witch and I am in love with her pet familiar Persnickle, who happens to be a Wombat!

Also did I mention that coffee is illegal ?

I love the well developed characters in this series and the blossoming romance between Goldie and Detective Max.

The murder mystery is excellent with a few twits that I enjoyed. I had no idea who the killer was until it was revealed at the end of the book.

The author crafts a complex story with fun, clever characters.

Highly recommend this book and the entire series.

Morgana Best books are my fun books. What’s a fun book? It’s a book I read after I’ve read something scary or something that was very emotional for me. It’s the books I turn to when the day was long and I just want to get lost in a book that makes me laugh.
In Broom Service, Goldie and company are investigating the suspicious death of Sheila McFeeler. They are also trying to keep the investigation from Max. It’s a bit difficult to do as Max’s parents and stepmother are visiting and expect to spend time with Goldie. There’s a bit of hilarity in the balancing of the two. The mystery was well crafted with several suspects known and unknown. If you are looking for a cozy mystery that will keep you guessing and laughing, this is for you.

Broom Service, book 5 in the Sea Witch Cozy Mysteries by Morgana Best

This was the first series I read from Ms. Morgana Best and had a blast reading this instalment. I have laughed so hard!
I love Goldie and all the characters in the books specially all the crazy ideas of Athaneous and Oleander that makes Goldie get in trouble with Max every single time but also helps them discover who the murderer is.
This has been a fun read and if you haven't started this series yet, what are you waiting for? Do yourself a favor, get the series, get this book!

With both Max's parents and step-mother visiting at the same time. Goldie is just a little stressed, to say the least.
While getting ready to eat, an officer shows up to take max to a suspicious death at a car crash.
The victim was a strong supporter of the weird law forbidding coffee in the town. She was using it to her advantage in opening up an old fashioned tea shoppe.
While being warned by Max not to get involved in the investigation. Goldie, Athanasius, and Oleander
ignore the warning as they suspect Shiela was actually a Sea Witch and was killed for her powers and not for the reasons the law enforcement thinks it is.

Another fun installment with the expected character development and humor.

Laughed my sox off! Again!
Even if I had gotten dropped into the series cold, I would have caught up in short order. Goldie is a Sea Witch but her police detective boyfriend doesn't know that. What he does know is that a local resident who opposed changing the law that made coffee illegal in East Buckle was murdered. He also didn't know that the woman was also a Sea Witch. Add in his visiting mother, father, and nasty stepmother who favors orange colored everything, Goldie's pet Wombat who tries to destroy anything orange, and Goldie's elderly friends from the retirement home and you have the recipe for a real laugh fest!

Prepare for another funny Goldie Bloom adventure! Meeting the parents-that's Max's dad and 2nd wife as well as his mom-is stressful enough without a murder of another sea witch! And Goldie hasn't explained this part of her identity to Max yet, so she is forced to investigate on her own to find out who the murderer is. Did I say on her own? Well she still has her cohorts and familiar helping her, which of course ups the confusion and the laughs!
So much to enjoy in this series and this latest addition. Characters are delightful, and Max certainly patient! Lots of humor and zany situations. Don't miss this fun book.

I can’t say enough about this series! If you haven’t tried it, do yourself a favor and try one. In East Buckleberry, coffee is illegal. When a town councilor who is against legalizing coffee is killed, Sea witch Goldie can’t seem to help looking into it. Max’s parents and stepmother are in town so juggling them and her snooping is no east task. With her wombat familiar Persnickle and her friends Oleander and Athanasius, Goldie pieces together the mystery. A very fun read. I received an ARC of this book and I’m leaving a voluntary review. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Max’s parents and stepmother come to visit. Unfortunately, the stepmother’s favorite color is orange. Since Persnickle the wombat hates orange, the stepmother is constantly attacked. A strange car crash results in the death of a local sea witch. But is it murder or an accident? Goldie’s friends worry since Goldie is a sea witch. They think someone is out to get the power of the sea witches.

Join Goldie in solving this mystery while creating havoc. I enjoyed this book.

Fun cozy

This is such a fun quirky series. The characters are odd yet loveable. This book is based around one of the town's weird town laws of no drinking coffee with the murder of a women who is against changing the law. Goldie has senior side-kicks that added lots of humour. The author has a wonderful imagination and must see the humour in everyday life to come up with the hilarious dialogue. The plot is good, as well.

I read the first four books of this series as a box set and fell in love with the quirky characters. I was excited to read the next chapter in the lives of Goldie and Max...Will he ever kiss her?? Lol. If you want to find out how good this series is, start at the beginning and discover them like I did. However, you can read each as a stand alone but why??

I think this was the best book yet. It’s fun and quirky and I really believe that’s Best’s trademark: fun and quirky books. And with a clever mystery, because I love it when I get it wrong! I love that unpredictable element.

Gotta love Goldie and Persnickle! This time, they have to figure out if the killer is after Goldie too!
I did figure it out way before Goldie did but I think that's par for cozies. It's still a fun ride.

Cute mystery!

So glad they chose another book cover!
Enjoyed the next Sea Witch Cozy! All the favorite characters were there and their wacky adventures especially at the assisted living center. Can't figure out how you can't smell the heavenly aroma of coffee. Lol

Fun

I love Morgana Best series. Quirky characters and fun reads. I can count on her books to take me into the story and solve the mysteries with the characters. Mystery, romance and a bit of magic. I couldn’t ask for more.

Genre Description:
This series is a cozy mystery series with some allusions to wicca-like magic as well as a touch of fantasy

Overall:
I’m not going to take much time on this review because honestly, I was quite disappointed with this one. This installment in the series was over-the-top ridiculous… and not in the way a cozy mystery should be. This may be the end of my following this series. It repeated the same solutions to dangerous situations as the last books. The relationships didn’t change, the villain was obvious from the start, but in a stupid way. All in all just majorly a let down. I may give the next book a try before I give up entirely on the series, but this one was just not it.

An Exciting Mystery!

Well now, no poison this time. I like that. Most cozy witch mysteries use poison, so seeing this one include a cut break line makes it far more enticing. Also, the list of suspects is longer and much more difficult for the characters to sort through -- none of that small circle of possibilities stuff. Plus, the suspect is in no way a standard one, which makes this story far better than usual.
I do have to admit I figured out who did it early on, but I still enjoyed the adventure, mystery, humor, and family disagreements. I always love seeing if I am correct in my judgment.
I do have a question, though... Is Max a witch? Goldie sometimes gets shocked touching him and that cat sure is attracted to the guy. Or maybe he is from an enemy family and doesn't know it.
Only issues were: the numerous typos, using Max's name instead of Walsh's (just 1X), and having Max pick up the cat from Goldie's twice to take for microchip scanning.
