I was never supposed to love him. I wasn’t even supposed to like him.
He was the enemy: Calavastrix the Storm.
He’d razed our ranch once already, and threatened my family and friends.
But now, injured, he has come to us for help.
I wasn’t supposed to fall for him. I told myself this, over and over, as I nursed him back to health. He is only a prisoner. He is still the enemy.
But his dragon tongue has a way of getting under my skin.
There are only two problems:
One - I am not an omega.
And two - the Templars are coming to kill us all.
Omega’s War is the explosive sixth and final book in the epic mpreg Guardian Dragons series. Sweet and steamy, this enemies to lovers book brings the conflict between shifters and templars to a dangerous - and satisfying - finish.
FABULOUS! I loved this series and this book was a wonderful addition and a great finish .
It is fast paced, well written, full of great characters and very emotional. The bond between Calavastrix the Storm and Yuri is believable and I really liked how we were able to see the old dragon change his mind about humans, Reece's little farm and love. It was absolutely amazing.
I always liked Thru, he's smart, funny, easygoing and friendly, but this book made me change my mind about Caleb. When we meet him again, he is devastated and hurt, but he is also full of pride and prejudiced. Yuri is the one who have gradually changed him.
This book is slightly different than others in the Guardian Dragons series, there is more fighting, more time spend on preparation for war and more talking about past and future. Mating is not as important and previously. In the same time Yuri and Caleb's story is not only sweet, but it also presents a possible future for dragons and all other shifters and the final destruction of Templars.
It is a great series finale, but I already crave more. I miss Spitfire Ranch and all these wonderful guys!
* I was gifted an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review *
This.. will forever be my favorite Dragon mpreg series. Each of the main characters in this series deserves its own series. I loved all of them and I wish I can read more of their stories <3 Their romance felt natural and not at all forced like many "fated mates" books.
I'm so sad to know that this book will be the last of the series and I really really hope I will get to read more books from Jill Haven set in the same universe. There's just so much more stories that have been left unsaid. The ancients, the vulpine, the ursin, all of the other shifters have unique stories, and I'd love to read more about them finding their place in the world with their mates.
My favourite Dragon-Omega Couples in this series from best to least: - Collan & Jake (Omega's Savior #5) - Caleb & Yuri (Omega's Destiny #6) - Reece & Matthew (Sacred Omega #1) and to be honest the other couples all kind of merged a bit
In Book 1 we had the typical setting up of world and general plot where everything feels rushed (especially the epilogue like wtf. At 85% I thought these guys were getting a second book but no we just got the most crammed last chapter ever – not okay!) Then Books 2-4 were all similar in the way the omega-dragon relationship evolved, the outside threat and even the abductions o_O Book 5 was great and necessary as a refreshing breath of air and a good step in advancing the overall story and Book 6 had potential, I wasn't unhappy with how everything was resolved but once again too rushed and a lot left to the last chapter (grrrr)
All in all I love dragon shifters, their mates, knotting, telepathic loop sex etc. What I would wish for: - the omegas not only living for max. 200 years: If these dragons can easily become 20.000 years old this means their mates are in their lives for a measly one percent. one! That may be alright for Caleb who has already been alive quite a while but have you considered poor Collan? He's barely twenty. He's going to live millenia without his mate! Longer than we humans have historical records for! - less rushed-ness - more diversity - the characters each having a tad more personality (books 2-4 I'm looking at you) - Templar as an enemy being a little more tangible: we only got Lena and Dr. Fallon as people to identify which was meh - getting to know the kids: learning names isn't enough. There was loads of potential for sweet moments like we got a literal hint of in Omega's Traitor #3
All in all would recommend if looking for low stakes, fated matedness, and as I said dragons and knotting and found family :)
What a stunning conclusion to the Guardian Dragons series! I was blown away. I stayed up way too late reading. I did not want to put it down. This book is fast paced, the narrative never lets up. All our old friends are back at the Spitfire Ranch, a community of dragons and their omegas. There are also two witches and a human who got swept up in his best friend's life. Add in the evil Templars, an old enemy, and a conclave of Ancient dragons, and you have a tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will love this book! Amidst all the chaos, this is Yuri and Caleb's story. Caleb is a very old, selfish dragon. He has attacked the ranch before, trying to retrieve his "property". But you can't separate fated mates. Now, attacked by the Templars, severely injured, he crash lands at the ranch, hoping they will help him. Yuri, the only human among the dragons, has become an integral part of the ranch; learning nursing, healing from the two witches. Drawing the short straw, he gets to tend Caleb's wounds. He doesn't expect the attraction he feels. He is shocked when Caleb feels it too. Watching the changes in Caleb, as he comes to understand what "community" is all about, is wonderful. Yuri must make some hard decisions, risking both his body and his heart. Caleb must risk everything he used to be for the man he is becoming, and for the man he is growing to love. The danger is real and imminent; forcing an alliance between the shifter races, and also forcing the Ancient Dragons into a decision that will change the shape of the world. This is the ultimate battle for survival against a new and terrifying blend of magic and technology. There will be violence and death. There will be vindication and redemption. There will be HEA. I recommend reading the first five books in this series. The background is invaluable. Plus... they are great books... time well spent. This book contains adult themes and language, violence, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
I was initially disappointed that the authors were going to try to redeem Caleb after his attack on the ranch in an earlier volume but I should have trusted them. They pulled off the redemption and I finally bought Yuri as his fated mate. It was interesting to see a dragon in full protective mode for a human initially, rather than an omega. The awesome change that occurs there will have repercussions for every future dragon story these authors write I suspect. It is world changing as they have set up their two most recent series based on the scarcity of omegas. I also wonder if now there will be some who see two classes of omegas - a "natural" and a "man-made". It will be interesting to see how the authors weave the new material, both as it relates to omegas and politics into future series. What kind of tensions will the new magic cause among the dragons (and other shifters if the technique works for them as well)? The new Templar magic we learn about is frightening in the way the authors describe it, so sterile and mechanical and you can feel and smell it in their descriptions. One of their best descriptive jobs in the series. We genuinely believe the ranch and its residents are in mortal danger. The final fight is quite a frantic affair. It was nice to meet old friends again at the ranch as usual and see how older couples are faring and learn about new children. The ending is hopeful and all my favorites have gotten their happy ever afters.
This was the final installment to the series. It was okay. I really liked book five so I think coming off of that high made this one not live up to my expectations. The whole series was tied up in a neat little bow. But I feel that the antagonist of the previous books were more tangible and had faces. So it was nice to see them kind of go head-to-head in a sense. This was just the overall Templar threat and just beating them. It was a little less satisfying because it kept the Templar vague and not attached to a person like it waspreviously. In this book they alluded to there being some differences with a new creation, I don't want to give it away, but I felt like that was not fully addressed. It was brought up but nothing ever came about it so that was a little disappointing. But overall I do like the series. I'm glad I found it and read it.
Whilst I have loved each and every book in this series this is my favourite although I am very sad to be saying goodbye to the wonderful characters that make up the extended, cobbled-together family that they have built for themselves. This features Yuri and Calavastrix the Storm (aka Caleb), you will remember him as the big bad from one of the previous books. I was unsure of how the author would redeem Caleb seeing as how his last appearance at the ranch did not put him in the best light. But initially you cannot actually help feel sorry for him, he loses everything but his arrogance still puts you off, despite being injured and in the debt of the ranch's inhabitants who not only saved his life but gave him sanctuary he still treats Yuri horribly but I was so impressed with Yuri and how he stood his ground and didn't allow Caleb to get away with too much. As Caleb's primary caregiver Yuri spends a lot of time with him and as the two trade verbal barbs they build up a rapport, realise that they have amazing chemistry and ultimately come to respect each other but the Templars have a new weapon that has the capacity to bring out the beasts and suppress the self-control of the human side of each of the shifters. There is action, danger, a sweet and hot love story and thrilling conclusion to the Templar threat. The characters are simply perfect (the Ancient's did make me laugh with their ponderous decision making process) and I loved how all the shifter species came together in an effort to defeat the Templars and the surprising magic that Caleb is able to acquire from a fellow dragon that means big changes for not only the dragons but all of shifter kind.
I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This has been a very solid series. It has had very unique couples with diverse situations while maintaining a formula / world that I have enjoyed. As a whole series, it is a solid 4 stars.
But for me personally, this last one fell short of the others. It felt not as focused overall and seemed somewhat muddled at a couple points. This final book was still good and a solid average m/m book, but... 1. It pushed the limits of Insta-Love without the Mate Call of an omega to explain it away. I'm not as terribly sensitive to this issue as many readers, but I do have to have some reason, event, or explanation to support it - especially when half of the couple was initially a dangerous enemy. 2. For the final book of a series, at least in the epilog, I would have liked more updates about all the mates plus kids plus various side characters from the previous books. For example, what and how are the Omega brother and the dragonmarked doing after their release in the 19 years? What about our youngest m/c dragon, how is he developing? Or for that matter, Danni and the other babies born before Dragon Mercy. How about Which Mercy herself and her mom? 3. But the thing that left me the most unsettled was the lack of any update on the martial arts master, his students, and the school after the attack. Plus, it would have been nice to see the reactions and reconnecting with some of the previous side characters like the hackers etc... Once the news came out.
I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting, action-packed MM/Mpreg dragon shifter romance but sadly it is the last & final book in this series. The story-line & plot is quite intriguing, well-written & suspenseful. The individual characters are well-developed with unique personalities & are inclined to be distrustful when an old enemy arrives badly injured but they continue to develop throughout the story-line & entwine well with each other with regards to the forthcoming confrontational situations. There are character crossovers but this book can be read as a standalone. There is: a feisty young male (Yuri) fall for a injured alpha male enemy dragon (Caleb Drake aka Calavastrix the Storm), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, adventure, action, Ancients, dragon shifters, omegas, dragon hunters (Templars), various kinds of shifters, humans, witches, secrets, mystery, magic, memories, danger, threats, enemies, violence, conflict, injuries, death, distrust, disagreements, defiance, doubts, strange attractions, sensual teasing, magical oaths, decisions, confrontations, compromises, love, contentment, steamy scenes & a well-deserved happy ending. I enjoyed reading this book & would recommend it.
The Blurb, title, and Cover to this book have changed. But I must review the title that I was given in the condition I was given it in. So, having said that here is my review: Omega’s Destiny by Aiden Bates and Jill Haven this is the sixth book in the Guardian Dragons Series. I have been really waiting for this story. Yuri a character we have been following since book one is finally getting his story. I am very attached to this character and I am so glad to read his story! Caleb, he works for Camelot Legal. He is an older dragon he has a lot of power. Dragons have started going missing, so he is being advised to hide. He would rather fight though. Hiding has never really been his style. Yuri is a strong character. He is not going to let a mate just run over him. I think he is perfect for Caleb. Who needs a strong mate to be with. I am sorry that this is the last book in this series. I have loved it and would love for it to never end. This series should be read in order. We meet characters that we know and love from previous books and the story builds on itself. It is an action-packed and full of love story that is one for my keeper shelf.
I love a good redemption arc, and Caleb certainly had a long way to go to redeem himself in my eyes. If there was anything that could make me soften towards a former baddie, it's the awful escape Caleb had to make. His and Yuri's romance was unexpected, but probably my favorite of this entire series. Unlike some of the other stories, where magic and fate seem to pull the main characters together, Yuri and Caleb had no supernatural tie forcing them together. Seeing them fall for each other despite everything Caleb did in the past, despite knowing they could never mate and claim each other, was even more satisfying than I thought it would be. On top of that, the storyline was every bit as epic and conclusive as I wanted it to be. My last questions about what the templars were doing were answered, my curiosity about the ancients was satisfied, and I got to watch shifters and dragons join forces in an epic fight for survival. I do wish that I'd gotten to see more of the aftermath, but honestly the story was complete even without knowing every detail of how the new world order came to be.
**I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this series. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
This is the concluding book in this lovely MPreg series, it's an enemies to lovers and then on to mates plot. I would recommend that if you haven't read the first five books do so that before reading this one as they have the background to both the main characters, Caleb is hurt and seeking somewhere to hide and heal, over time we get to see how he changes and realises what community and family could mean to all Dragon kind. Yuri is one of those side characters that is different to others, but you can't help hoping to learn more about him which we do and he is struggling with where he fits in at the ranch, tasked with helping Caleb the pair grow close, very close.
This is a fast paced story with lots of action from the conclave of Ancient Dragons and altercations with the Templars, magic and meetings, two very different people fall in love. This is a hot and steamy read for mature readers, what you would expect from these authors with a guaranteed HEA.
I just knew Caleb wasn't all evil! And this book proves it.
Caleb's compound is attacked by Templars and he flees, injured to the Ranch. He's hated by all there, but is offered asylum. It's Yuri's job to tend him and get does, alot, very intimately. I do love Yuri, he's been around since book one and he's sassy, funny, and I'm so glad he gets his HEA here.
Long story short, Caleb is given the knowledge to make new Omegas, and Yuri is his first. The Templars attack (soooo not such a good idea to have delegations from all the Shifters there PLUS all the Ancients, I mean it was like handing the Templars the means to kill all of them dressed up in a big red bow). The Shifters decide as a group to out themself to the world to survive.
There's a epilogue of Caleb and Yuri sending their daughter off to college 19 years later. So you know everything worked out ok. I'd love to see more. More stories of the Urson, and what happened to the other dragons and their mates. Hopefully there is a spin off series or at least a few stories.

The final book in this series. The war between the Templars and the Dragons continues. The new family is living a seemingly quiet life but the threads from the Templars are groing. They have established themselves in the community and with the help from the wolves they are rather safe except when the video of the young dragon goes viral. The Ancients arrive at the farm to discuss what their next step will be but it as usual they only talk and talk. That is until Yuri and Caleb start their own fight and things escalate quickly. This book takes us to the final fight with the Templars and seeking a way to live as dragon and all other shifters in peace with the humans. This whole series has been quite a journey to read and I found it quite addictive. Aiden Bates was a new writer to me and I can only say I'm sorry I haven't read more books of him. There is love, suspense, angst and an imaginable world of shifters who just want to live peacefully amongst humans. A real recommender.
This is the amazing story of Caleb and Yuri. Yuri is unsure of his place in his "new" family. He loves them but what is his future. Caleb is running for his life and returns to the one place that can protect him, but that also despises him. Yuri is responsible for taking care of Caleb while he recovers. Who would have thought that you can see your enemy in a new light? The characters have charisma, complexity, and determination. The storyline has suspense, action, ups and downs, twists and turns and passion. What more could you ask for in a story? This is a great read and a great addition to this series.

*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one elses*
Yuri deserved his own HEA and he finally got one in the form of Caleb.
Caleb made an everlasting impression, albeit not a very good one, when he first appeared in book 2. Did he redeem himself of his past actions? Read it and find out.
There were times I wanted to smack Caleb. He was insensitive and thought humans were beneath him. Yuri went head to head with this stubborn, old dragon and didn’t back down either. I was rooting for Yuri every time he put Caleb in his place. These two were entertaining to watch and as the heat simmered, I enjoyed the beautiful life changing moments that followed.
This is book 6 to the Guardian Dragons and I loved it hey it’s written by Aiden Bates and Jill Haven and they make a brilliant team and this story just proves it and I’m sad because this is the final book of the series. There’s action, adventure, suspense, danger, twists and turns, steamy scenes and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages, sorry guys I’m not going to give any spoilers to this one I don’t want to spoil the ending but let me say that I loved it. Keep up the good work guys and thank you for this wonderful series and I highly recommend this book/ series and I voluntarily leave my review.
OMG!! This book 6 is definitely the best. I loved Caleb as much as I hated him before and I could not believe how he finished being the one to save the day. I don’t want to spoil anything for you but the author masterfully concocted a way to end everything ensuring a happy resolution of the conflict. With lot of action, evilness and intrigue mixed up with romance, hot scenes and more babies this book is the perfect ending to the series. Wonderful reading!!! Is it an spin-off or a short story following the action too much to ask?? 🙏🙏🙏 I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Possible spoilers ahead (mainly using the names of the characters)
I have quite loved Yuri since the first book and after reading book 2, I was very intrigued by Caleb and what his story would like.
It was great to see these two together, the animosity that quickly becomes so much more. They have both strong personalities, and it was great to see them navigate what is between them. The love, the heat, the trust that builds there was very enjoyable.
The main story comes to an end in this book and I was very happy with the way things end. The epilogue was absolutely perfect.
Sometimes, when you're not looking for love, it will pop up & slap you in the face! Caleb, returns! Is he still after Lucas? What will Tarin say? Yuri, human loves the family and is love. But he's neither dragon, nor Omega. He is there for everyone and never takes time for himself. Caleb suffers a tragedy and finds himself back at the compound in different circumstances. Yuri attends to his wounds with security help from Charity, the witch. Does Caleb mean the compound harm? Does Yuri have special skills? What will the Ancients say? Do they ever find a way to create Omegas? Nice end of series. I wish it was longer and went into more detail.
While there are sections of this last book which are a bit muddled, it was written well enough to reclaim the series and provide a reasonable positive ending. The details in the last battle were not well described and left some doubt about the final results. And there was little detail provided for the public disclosure which was a prime focus at one point. It felt as though a decision was made to rapidly end not only this book, but the series and so the reader is given a rapidly condensed summation.
This is the final story in a great series. One I waited for as I hated to see the end of the series. I was thrilled that Yuri found his HEA and enjoyed the banter between him and Caleb. The pompous discussions of the Ancients was a humorous side-plot. This is a tale of redemption, growth, magic against technology, and the defeat of an old, evil nemesis. This is a wonderful book in a great series; full of well-drawn characters, exciting action, and an engrossing plot. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the ultimate battle for survival against a new and terrifying blend of magic and technology. Caleb now has been attacked by the Templars and severely injured, he crash lands at the ranch, hoping they will help him. Yuri takes care of him and spends a lot of time with him and they realise that they have amazing chemistry and ultimately come to respect each other.
There will be violence and death. There will be vindication and redemption. There will be HEA.
I liked Caleb and Yuri together. They had good chemistry. I liked the ending of the whole series and how it all tied together. I will say that there needs to be better notes between books. Book five took place in Detroit, not Chicago. Collan was called the Ghost of Detroit for Christ sake. I gave the book a five but some of the errors were sloppy and frustrating and would have honestly lowered my rating if the ending itself wasn’t so good.
Authors’ need to get proofreaders for the whole series.
The series comes to an end. Caleb arrives at Spitfire ranch seeking help. After his last visit he isn't exactly welcome but he is badly hurt. As he is tended by Yuri, and slowly heals, we see a different side to him. The last few chapters wrap up the entire series in short segments and time jumps. It felt rushed but expanding on any of those scenes would have just been dragging out the ending.
Another great add to the series and the final book. Yuri and Caleb are epic and the best couple to end the series with. Don't want to say too much on the plot because of spoilers but it's a full adventure that will grab you all the way through. Caleb is old and grumpy for sure so I enjoyed seeing him get taken down a notch with his own Omega. I already want to re-read the series! I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.
This is the sixth book in the Guardian Dragons series by Aiden Bates and Jill Haven. This one is a bit or an enemies to lovers theme. It is also the fabulous conclusion to this wonderful series. The world building, the characters, the stories... this series has been a blast and this book didnt disappoint and blew me away. Sweet, sexy, satisfying.... conflict, action, and mpreg. I will miss this series now that it's over.
This is the sixth book in The Guardian Dragons Series. A terrific book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. The characters were developed and thought out. Yuri and Caleb are the MC’s of this book. I can recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
