In this delightful tale, candy-loving third-grader Megan learns to her dismay that Sugarman’s Candy, a local confectioner, is going out of business. Her “Weirdo” older brother suggests that she should buy the candy factory so she’ll have an endless supply of everything she loves. Megan thinks he’s crazy, but her dad isn’t so sure. The suggestion sparks an idea of how Megan might be able to help Mr. Sugarman save his nearly 100-year-old family business. With gentle guidance, Dad encourages Megan to figure out why Sugarman’s Candy is going under and figure out how to save it. Enlisting the aid of family and a small army of friends, Megan sets out to reinvent the candy company, learning valuable lessons about friendship, loyalty, persistence, candy-making and business along the way.
