Carly Phillips Knight Brothers bks 01-03

Knight Time Is the Right Time

Mmm... The Knight Brothers with a Dare family crossover in the series? Oh, hell yeah. There's great chemistry, plenty of family drama, and just enough burning up of the sheets to make me happy.

I borrowed the audio book. The narrator, Angela Dawe, did a really good job. It was my first time listening to her, and I look forward to more.

Here are my individual reviews for each book. Happy reading! 📚💋

Take Me Again 🌟🌟🌟🌟 .5 - Being Seen Again
I love their history. There was attraction and a connection borne from two teens needing someone, anyone, to really see them. Sebastian Knight and Ashley Easton were each dealt a craptastic hand when it came to parental figures, but for a short period of time, they had each other. Until they didn't.

Warning bells went off in her head, but she was too far gone to heed them.
-- Ashley Easton

I like how Ashley stayed connected to the Knight family. I adore how sweet, innocent, and unassuming it was. As sad as the reason for the reunion was, the way things happened kept me wanting to continue on, finishing it in one sitting.

I read along with the audio book.

Take Me Down 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - Letting Go and Living Again
Parker Knight and Emily Stevens have a fairly easy and laid back story. Yes, there's some family and ex drama and antics, but the focus really is them. OK, Parker miiight be a tad possessive, but he does prove he can rein it in... sometimes. 🤷‍♀️😁 Other than? Totally laid back. 😉

“You look like trouble, city boy.”
-- Emily Stevens

I love that she calls him city boy. It's a dig, sure, but it's also her trying to defuse the chemistry. (Thankfully, that's only temporary, because they are hot when the walls come down!)

Her blocked trauma and other experiences involving her (abusive) ex are tough, as is his experience, and I love the patience each shows the other when sharing. It's a sign of a healthy relationship. 😍

Dare Me Tonight (a.k.a. Take Me Tonight) 🌟🌟🌟🌟 .5 - Can't Get You Outta My Head
Ethan Knight has some baggage, but I love how he's immediately drawn to Sienna Dare, despite her being off limits. He has had his alphahole role since his late wife's death down pat. I love watching his walls break down and crumble. The two are very opposite with great chemistry, and she's the right person to get him back to living.

While I don't love that anyone goes through the pain that Ethan has experienced with his dad or his late wife, I do love that we got to see him shed the last vestiges of the pain from Mandy and also start healing from his dad's abandonment.

She clearly wasn’t practiced, but she didn’t need to be when just the touch of her was enough to set him off.
-- Ethan Knight

As is common when a Dare is involved, there are a lot of cameos from the Dare to Love, Sexy, and this series. Prior reading isn't required, but I'd recommend it if you're inclined.

Another common thread, especially when the Florida Dares are highlighted, is Robert Dare brings drama to the mix. It's sad how lacking as a father, spouse, and all-around human being he is. When his latest situation hits the fan, I love and hate how the siblings circle the wagons. I do like how Sienna stands up for herself with them and her father. Her giving her siblings a dressing down made me like her a little more, even if she forgives (too) quickly in most situations.

This has been my favorite book in the series, in part due to the crossover with the Dares. Of course, the biggest part is the hot chemistry between Sienna and Ethan that bursts through the pages. I love their ups and downs and how this starts as her being unable to figure out what she wants to do with her future.

Next, I will catch up with Jason Dare and his buddies, and Sierra Knight and her story. I look forward to more of this universe. 🥰❤️‍🔥

Take Me Again - Ashley is back from London after eight years away from New York. Sebastian is trying to take on a serious role in his brother’s company. These two get a second chance at love, but are they going to take it? I am enjoying the writing in this series. The plot was straightforward and had a neat twist to it. I really like the brothers so I’m excited to continue the series.

Take me Down - Parker is in Colorado looking for resorts when his car breaks down. There he meets Emily whose dad is trying to open a B&B. The two have instant chemistry and both are scared to move forward. I enjoyed these two their broken parts weren’t instantly fixed, they began to work through their issues. Parker needs to figure out his life and Emily wants to start a business. I can wait to finish this series

Dare me Tonight - Sienna is just out of college trying to decide between going into the workforce and going to get a master's degree. Ethan owns a tech company and barely has time for anyone since his wife died and the truth of her infidelity comes to life. These two have a one-night stand but both really want more. Since Ethan's company is working with Sienna's brother's company they have more time together, then she finds out she is pregnant. The chemistry in this book was really sizzling.

Overall I really enjoyed this series. I liked the brothers and their stories. I might go back and read the novellas later but over all this was a fun series. I enjoyed listening to the books.

Amazing Series

Take Me Again:
This is the story of Sebastian and Ashley. He is trying to be a better man and correct the mistakes of his past. She comes back from her life in London and is trying to help the family all she can in their time of need. A fire is rekindled between the two from their younger years. She is angry with him, and has to let go and forgive him for what he did. They work together to fix a problem with the family business. All is well in the end. A very well written story and holds your attention. Looking forward to more of Carly Phillips' books.

Take Me Down
This is the story of Parker and Emily. This story was great. To fall in love miles away from your home and eventually make it work out is a feat in itself. Parker finds a way. Emily doesn't want a repeat of her past, which didn't work out at all. There are a lot of secrets in this story, which are heartbreaking, to say the least. The author's writing brings all things within the story together beautifully, and in the end all is well. I'm looking forward to the next Knight Brothers story.

Dare Me Tonight
This is the story of Ethan and Sienna. This is a great story. What they've both had to endure during their life is tremendous, yet realistic. It takes really strong people to go through what each of them did and come out on the other side so happy. It's an intense story. It's also hot and steamy. I can't get enough of Carly's books. I am so looking forward to the next one.

Audiobook listener (not complaints with the narrator).
The third book in this set is the best, but it’s still not strong enough to earn the series another star. The writing is sophomoric, the chemistry nonexistent, and the story poorly paced. Each book is basically a drawn out short story where the two MCs fall in love at first sight and then screw within the next 10 pages. That’s followed by minimal conflict and a HEA. It’s all vey formulaic without much originality or complexity. The writer likes to tell rather than show, so the reader is not invested. It felt like what I might have read in a women’s magazine from the late 20th century—albeit one with more mature content!
There is so much romantic fiction out there, I feel little need to consume more from this author.
