The Orphan In a world where dark faeries have stepped in to save the planet from humanity’s mistakes, seventeen-year-old December Thorne is nothing but a shadow. Offered a scholarship to the prestigious Oberon Academy, December finds herself living in a whole new world. Boundless food, clean clothes, a safe place to sleep, and the potential for true friendship make her new life seem almost too good to be true—but the school has a secret. The Zephyr After a tragic loss, Crispin Jonas took over the role of mentor, pushing December to practice things beyond the standard Oberon Academy lessons on being a good Sylphid. His lessons revolved around her other half—her dark side. Devastated after taking a life, December had a choice to make. She could let her darker half take over and guide her actions, or she could embrace the Sylphid inside her and live on the path of light. But were those her only two choices? The Sylph After surviving another face-off with Queen Sebille and discovering the truth about her past, December Thorne’s life has changed dramatically. With everyone now knowing and accepting what she truly is, and her new relationship with her mentor, her life takes a turn for the better. She finally has what she’s always wanted...or does she? The Queen After so many surprises and truths revealed, December just wants her life to settle down into some sort of normalcy. She has a place at Oberon Academy, an amazing boyfriend, and for the very first time, a real family…but it doesn’t last. When one of her own is taken by the Zephyr queen, December must take action. The time for normalcy is over. It’s time for war.

I absolutely loved this series! This is my first series by Wendi Wilson, and I can say, based on this one, I will be reading more. I adored our leading characters, December and Easton. December has led an extremely challenging life, starting with being abandoned on the front steps of a library as a newborn. Bouncing from foster home to foster home, each one being worse. All the sudden, she finds herself at this fancy boarding school, with a gorgeous but mysterious guy, and a roommate and others who seem to care for her. This series starts and just keeps going in the perfect flow of adventure, character growth, twists, and more. The side characters are amazing, and I absolutely adored them. Shaela is the best, along with some others that I don't want to mention and spoil anything! I highly recommend this series. There is honor, adventure, mystery, and the sweetest romance. I can't wait to read the spinoff series!
I write this with my head cocked to one side. Repeated us of this trope and other irritants cost the book a star. Apart from these style choices and exaggerated characters, this is a ripping yarn.
ahhh i happened across this series on accident some months or so ago and im glad i did because as soon as i dug into the first book i got attached to alll the characters and have loved seeing december easton and all of the many other characters grow and evolve as the story went on and by the time i finished the first one i hungered for the first one and the same happened with each one as they came out and when the box set came out i grabbed it :) i love this world these characters and the plot of each story as things unfolded but most of all im glad wendi isnt done with this world yet and while im going to miss these characters i look forward to the troubles december and easterns daughter going to get into wendi wilson you are awesome!!!! keep up the amazing work
Predictable, unrealistic (not the fantasy aspects, but the character development), perfect little ending wrapped with a bow. It was a read just to read. The story had been done and redone. Teenage orphan with sad past is offered a chance at a special school, discovers abilities beyond what anyone else has, reunites with her long lost parents, evil guy turns out to be good and her grandpa, and her best friend turns out to be her cousin. Boyfriend is the future king of one race, she is future queen of another, kills the evil queen, they live happily ever after. Superficial and predictable.

Oberon Academy Complete Series by Wendi Wilson: loved December & Easton’s story!
*****The Orphan #1: December is shocked to discover she is something more than human. And maybe not human at all. Learning about her powers, and how to control them. A new love and a close friend. Now, a war?
*****The Zephyr #2: Big surprises, and challenges. A powerful mixed blood. True friends and “family” pull together, while other forces seek to destroy. This is a good story with a fast pace, and lots of action.
*****The Sylph #3: Relationships and friendships - some at risk. Family and friends - tear jerk surprises. Enemies - known and unknown. The lies are huge, and deception abounds. The twists are unexpected, as some truths are revealed.
****The Queen #4: nice finale’ This story drug out a bit, with a little too much internal doubt. But overall good, with more twists, and definitely an enjoyable series. Loved the HEA!!!

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible Membership)
The Orphan
Growing up in appalling conditions, the young girl had little respite in her life. So, when given a choice to leave such a place, she was sceptical that a paradise that was being offered did actually exist. However, events over took her, and she had little choice but flee to this new life that she was still wary of.
The Zephyrs
The Dark Fae, known here as the Zephyr, are trying to take over the human world and destroy the light Fae, the Sylphids, as well. However, our young orphan has learnt a lot about herself, her abilities, and her ancestry. Each new revelation is a blow, and yet, it allows her to understand who she is and how she came into existence.
The Sylph
The Academy isn't a peaceful place, with rivalry amongst the various factors. This title sees more new players brought onto the scenes. With revelations about some already known characters and previously unknown history, is also revealed.
The writing style is not working for me, simplistic YA sentences and phrases. I'm also not a fan of the magic system. I get that we're suspending our disbelief, but the zero to 60 magical progress, and all of her magic is unconscious and she can't even feel that she's doing it? And another small thing, I couldn't see it on the box set audio cover, but when I looked at the individual covers, she's got big black butterfly wings?? 🤣 Small reasons, and it's not a bad book series so far, I just realized I stopped caring, and the little things are starting to bug me. Just not for me!
I picked up this box set to read before reading Aurora's story at Oberon Reformatory. This box set included the complete backstory of her parents as they met while attending Oberon Academy and their struggle against the evil Zephyr Queen Sebille.
This story was very well written with very few editing errors that the time and pages flew by in a blink. I'm so glad I took the time to read this series as it gives incite to the world of the Fae Aurora is in.
Really liked the series. The first book was definitely my favorite. Although in the last book, there are some chapters that I would eliminate, the whole plot with Easton’s father is a bit too much and feels that it’s only to delay the end. It’s obvious that December is going after Easton, and it makes no sense that she waits so many days to go and rescue him. For that reason I’m giving the series 4 stars. I think the last book should’ve been better, and up to the level of the previous 3 books.
It was a good read. A little predictable in spots but kept you hanging on to see how it played out in each chapter. December is my type of heroine. Feisty, ass-kicking and doesn’t act like some dumb teen girl. I actually read to the end of the series with out skipping all the mushy or boring (history of characters, towns, etc. that have no bearing on the plot). Which I hardly ever do.
I really liked the idea of these books, there were good theories and plot twists and it was very fun. Definitely YA though, the romance was too sudden and a bit ridiculous, and I found the writing was quite immature as well; lots of repetition of phrases ('his lips crashed into mine" 🙄😴) and basic world building. I think these books could have been fleshed out and made so much better, but I really do like the storyline and ideas, otherwise it would have been 3 stars.
This series is amazing!!! A whole new world and a whole new set of faeries to love! The series centers around December, a girl who always thought to be human and then learns she is so much more than that. This is her journey to discovering who and what she is, what her powers are and what makes her so so special, also a journey thru friendship, family and love. Do not dare to miss it
I read the full series in less than 2 days. I couldn’t put the book down. The story sucked me in and wouldn’t let go. No sleep when you’re reading something so enthralling. I started with Oberon Reformatory and was hooked. I can’t wait for more of the series. I love December and Easton and would really love more of them in the following books.
it was BEAUTIFUL! the charectors came together, the twists, the perfect mix of light and dark, the romance, the way they understand each other, the way that the author is also saying keep mother gaia you should read it , I ablsolutely love fiction and fantasy and the perfect amount of romance

Enjoyed reading this series. It was pretty much about a lost princess who met the usual hardship but she still had a heart of gold. Although I thought the faeries were too tame. Lots of romance and very little violence
Good YA rag to riches STORY until about 100 pages in where suddenly she is a fairy with wings - she lives all her life and does not know she has wings!! beyond my willingness to accept. DNF, REQUESTED MY .99 REFUND on this series...

Very cute but predictable and drawn out. It could have been one book and not three. Would have been nice to get more back story on how they changed everything they worked hard to get to.
Fast read, it was just a bit much at times. Too much tongue and wanton teenage eyes. Sort of a Harry Potter Hogwarts school. Some could glamour others and make them say and do things. Lots of deception.
It was definitely wrote for young adults. Very poorly wrote. Wrote more like fanfiction they pulled off of the internet. If they "cocked" their heads anymore, they would turn into dogs. Wish I could get the time I spent listening to this back.
Oh, young love… Solid read for its intended audience. I was kept guessing by the author. Lots of rational people being forgiving and providing unconditional love and rationally collaborating. My dark romance brain couldn’t fathom it.
A great coming of age epic with enemies you love to hate and relatable characters you'll fall in love with. Plots and twists that'll make you want to keep reading all through the night!
An enjoyable, entertaining and fascinating box set. This series had a new and interesting take on the supernatural, along with some very likeable characters. Excellent!!!
This series has so many twists and secrets that will leave you wanting to know more. December and Easton have many challenges to face and love along the way. This series is a must read as well as the next in this universe
