John Sherber recently offered the e-book version, box set of The Murder in Mexico Mysteries books 5 - 9 for free on Amazon. Well okay! I like free. I snapped it up and have spent the last week thoroughly enjoying the antics of the Paul Zacher Agency's characters as they hunt for stolen artifacts, avoid being killed but doing some of their own killing (totally in self-defense of course). Very enjoyable. Cheers Lynda Lock
I really liked these books. The characters are all definitely individuals, and Maya grows in strength and personality through the series. A few of the books have very weird and not very believable plots, but the writing is even and the action moves right along. Book 9 had some typos but overall it's a great series. There are a few more after this. Great reading!
Really enjoy the various plots that come to San Miguel de Allende and the cast of characters. Descriptions change and characters grow which makes each book intriguing despite having to provide the same information in each book to make it a ‘stand alone’ novel.
Book 5 Strike Zone Wealthy patron with a love of artifacts, doesn’t want to give up the Mayan codex, so she devises an alternative. With the Zacher Agency they go to Oaxaca. The details, the settings of Mexico is good. Along with the mayhem that seems to follow Paul and Cody
Book 6. Vanishing Act She would sign the divorce papers if he would look into her nephew missing. A letter had been written was more like a journal from Peter. He gave a copy to him to read. Hoping he would go with him. Even though he was enjoying the layback life in Mexico. He didn’t have to solve, only look into it, easier said the. Done, when they find what happened.
Book 7 Jack-Jill Jack was tired of marriage to Jill Eliminating her while on his regular trip to Chicago, coming home, things went wrong To prove his innocence he hires the agency Trouble was he hired the wrong person Then everything else backfired for him Was a murder committed even Intriguing case Book 8 The case seems bizarre, yet intriguing A man fell asleep, car accident Which require reconstruction of face Parts burn so hands were burned Where is the car, paid car and gone Worked on his own mostly so no One could vouch for him Then murdered happened Unusual and how they figured it out Corruption to the hilt, enjoyed
Book 9. The Thief of The Virgin Paul loved fake paintings, even to painting them himself.Feeling this is how you got into the way the painter was thinking, and you don’t forget the brushstrokes. Seeing Dr Glass, and informing him of such, entailed a battle more of who was more knowledgeable to say what was a fake or genuine. What would be the point of having a genuine among the fakes, is really the question, was pointed out to Paul. Interesting concept for the readers of how the painter does a fake, and what only an original would have. A good mystery, with good information of painting to add to it. Will Paul even find the truth or anyone in setting things
