I really enjoyed this perspective. I get a bit tired of the endless angst of a lot of female characters. Mr. Shumaker told a story in a straightforward way with great characters and dialog. I especially enjoyed the relationship between Ethan and Emma, the foster child he became responsible for. She was hilarious! Thank you for the entertaining few days. Makes me want to visit there.
This is a sweet, faith-based story about a young orphan and the single, searching man who was forced to take her in. Life changes drastically and rapidly for them both as he realizes the love of his life is back in town. Though distracted by the bright lights of Hollywood, Olivia is lead back to Huron Cove and the love of her life, that now has gone from one man to a man and his new little girl.
A very good story of second chances for all concerned. The eight year old girl was lovely but had a very formal way of speaking - perhaps because of being brought up by "Aunt Millie" but it mildly annoyed me. The hero's best friend was an absolutely unlikeable character which seemed quite strange. Otherwise, a lovely tale.
This is best book I have read this year. There is surprise, heartache and drama in this story. A little girl, named Emma shows up at Ethan's door to let him know she is there to live with him. He is single and does not know any thing about raising children.
First book I have read by this author & I loved it. No violence, no sex just a wonderful story about how a 8year old orphan changed the lives of two people and led one back to church so he could open his heart. I didn’t want the story to end.
Ethan and Olivia had a rocky break up...because Olivia wanted to be a major movie star and Ethan stayed behind.finding their way back to each other will be tough... but their premise on love still exists. Wonderful first book in the series.
Enjoyed reading and could picture the scenery in my mind. I’m not good at making book reviews but all I can say is that once you start reading it you will not stop until you’re done.
Thanks to a precocious 8 year old distant cousin brought to his doorstep, Ethan's life changed. Emma's insight into his love for Olivia caused both their lives to change .
This was a great story, I really enjoyed it. It is Sweet and has lovable characters and is set in a small town. A really good start to what is surely a Great Series.
A sweet tale of second chance love. Through the help of an eight year old orphan who is wise beyond her years, old flames are rekindled when deftly brought together. Lovable characters, and godly values, make this story an enjoyable read.
This was a great story...full of heartache, new beginnings, good decisions, bad decisions, and faith. The characters are ones you would like to know and scenery you would like to see. It's a clean story which I appreciate.
Generally enjoyed, but found the main female character poorly fleshed out. She came off as really wishy-washy, self-centered and annoying. I wondered why, beyond her physical beauty, the main character would even want her.
