Forget Me was a love story at its very heart, an emotionally resonant and utterly compelling one- made more so by it’s speculative and mystery elements – Andrew Ewart allows his characters to speak, about their relationship, their secrets and their devastating losses and it tugs on the heartstrings. I loved it.

Brain injury, memory loss, changes of personality, all hit home on a personal level which made Forget Me particularly thought provoking for this reader. I have a friend whose wife lost herself to such an injury and I have no doubt that if the treatment described in Forget Me was a thing, he would have tried it and damn the consequences. Therefore I understood Hannah’s motivations here and devoured the whole thing in one sitting.

Beautifully written and cleverly layered we see Hannah and Euans love story unfold..under the strangest of circumstances, where nothing is quite as it seems. Forget Me has the best elements of a psychological thriller with all the emotions of a heart wrenching character drama plus an intriguing puzzle at the heart of it. What happened..why did it happen…where did this golden couple fall so hopelessly apart.

So much to love here, a right old page turner that has an intimate, atmospheric feel to it that leads you to a resolution you won’t easily forget. Very good indeed. Another to watch in 2020.

Highly Recommended.

AMAZING! 'Forget Me' is a compelling, cerebral psychological thriller from an extraordinary talent. Andrew Ewart's supremely imaginative novel about memory and identity simply blew me away. This is a genuine psychological thriller that lives up to its billing, and the best I have read for years. This story is about husband and wife Euan and Hannah. Once a golden couple, and very much in love, their bond is unbreakable until Euan begins to distance himself from loving wife Hannah. Then one day Euan parks at a train crossing and refuses to move his car. The collision between train and vehicle leaves Euan with almost total amnesia. Hannah is a stranger and the secret Euan was on the verge of disclosing to Hanna on that fateful day remains buried in his damaged psyche. A desperate Hannah eventual turns to the Reel Memory Project to help restore some semblance of Euan's lost identity. Based on the premise that memory is a chronological contrivance of interlinked movie-like scenes, Euan begins treatment with the polarising Reel Memory Project. But something is wrong with the stimulated memories that Hannah has meticulously documented from her recollections. A strange, creeping fog encroaches on every scene 'played' from Euan's past. Something feels... well not quite right. This leaves the reader with numerous questions. Are Hannah's recollections to be relied upon? Is the Reel Memory Project the real deal? What was the nature of the secret Euan was withholding from Hannah? Like a master of his craft, Ewart, with pitch-perfect plotting and a narrative that simply oozes mystery and edge-of-your-seat suspense, gradual reveals all. This novel is a true puzzle, and a standout psychological thriller that leaves the competition in its wake. A literal page-turner, 'Forget Me' is the best psychological thriller of 2020 so far.

The premise was interesting and this was what drew me to it in the first place. I thought that the execution could have been a little bit better as it lost interest a couple of chapters in and i just did not care what happened to the characters. The writing style was generally fine but it was not that special and was not that gripping compared to similar books.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Amazing, you get taken on a couples journey as they have to relive reels of their life as a couple due to him losing his memory due to an accident and she puts her faith in a new company called The Reel Memory Clinic to try get her old husband back, but is he the man or is she the wife she wants to be afterall? The twists and turns are amazing, its quite sci fi meets thriller which isn't something I would usually enjoy, but full recommend this book its a twist even on the very last sentence!

This was a first novel by a young man destined for further success. I found it fascinating and
different from my usual read. For a relatively young person it showed great sensitivity and
understanding of relationships. Couldn't put it down. Congratulations Andrew. Margaret Walker

1,5/5⭐️ Tahle kniha mě uvedla do hrozné čtecí krize.
