What is hidden at the bottom of The Money Pit on Oak Island? Jack Martin is about to find out.

A teen/young adult novel inspired by the stories of The Money Pit on Oak Island, Nova Scotia.

For one hundred years, generation after generation of the Martin family has kept a secret. There is treasure hidden deep underground in the woods behind their home.

When the secret is revealed to Jack Martin, he is immediately resolved to be the one to solve the mystery. It won't be easy. The treasure is protected by booby-traps and natural barriers and is seemingly unreachable. Thanks to Jack's cleverness and tenacity, along with a little bit of luck, he eventually succeeds.

Unfortunately he finds something other than silver and gold hidden there and what was always thought to be a hunt for untold riches instead becomes the ultimate test of survival.

I won this in a Goodreads giveaway.
I'm a little conflicted about this book. it was a quick, easy read, and I enjoyed the storyline over all. But it felt a little inconsistent-like most of really well written, but in other parts it felt like things were just tossed in, quickly, throw away dialogue to just further the story a little bit. Overall, the story was a decent way to pass a couple of hours, but I wouldn't go out of my way to read the sequel.

This is a quick, enjoyable book to read without investing too much time and energy to be able to appreciate it. The concept of the overall story and its inspiration was very interesting to read about, I'm now curious about the Oak Island TV show. Some parts were admittedly typical/predictable while also including just enough of a twist to appreciate the imagination involved. Don't think too hard about it and you'll enjoy this book without issue.

Won this in a giveaway so I appreciate the opportunity to read!

I have always been a huge fan of Oak Island. Way before the show came out. When I seen this book, it was a must read.

The book is a quick read. Took about 8 hours. It is enjoyable. I do not want to say too much because I do not want to ruin the story but if you are looking for a short enjoyable book, this is it.

Unique idea

The story is really two stories. The first part is contemporary and rather typical story of family and obsession. The second part be and time travel with some interesting twists. I liked it.

I won this book as a Goodreads Giveaway.

This was one of those sci-fi-ish books that threw me for a loop. One part of me hated it and wanted to put it down, while the other part couldn't finish. Two sittings and I completed it. Storyline was a bit far fetched for me but it was an interesting read.

Curse of Oak Island

A story based loosely on the television show. However, this treasure hunter needs to get back home… eventually. If not, his daughters life is in jeopardy.

Glad to see this was labeled as “inspired by” true events. The first part of the story was interesting and enjoyable. The second half of the story really tested believability. I could understand the fantastic concept of time travel, but could not reconcile how his going back in time would save his daughter. In my mind, if he went back in time to be the iceman, how could he have fathered his daughter. I guess the timeline and theory were just a little too far fetched for me. An easy read, but if you are a stickler for details and timelines, this might have too many loopholes to be enjoyable.
