this book is a collection of ink drawings depicting the lives and worlds existing in my mind, separated into their various realms:

Celestial – the dominion of angels, of elegance and power, who serve to protect their boundaries.

Terrestrial – the mortal lands of warring kingdoms, and those caught between them in forest and sky.

Infernal – the dark world of demons, succubi, dragons, and beasts, all scraping and scavenging to survive.

Pelagial – the abyss of those whose sparse company are only those found in the void.

Absolutely adore this art book. One of my top favorites that truly stands alone in its style and themes. Mar works in black ink on white paper with an occasional accent of gold or red. There are four sections: celestial, terrestrial, infernal, & pelagial. There’s a pervasive Greek myth theme. Creatures range from angels, dryads, satyrs, demons, mermaids, sirens, medusas, nymphs, and harpies. Mar’s focus is primarily on women. Often portraying a sense of intimacy, sapphism, sensuality, and tenderness. But there’s also a clear sense of formidableness, cunning, fierceness, and indomitability. Really a special book that drips fantasy.
