This book is the second of three books of the Two Planets, Two Peoples trilogy. The story of the destruction of the planet Keplerin by asteroids was covered in the first book. The first book is an asteroid destruction survival story, intertwined with the ethical and societal issues all individuals and societies face during life, especially life under stress. It follows the struggles, societal issues and mutability of truth and ethics involved in addressing imminent planetary destruction. In this second book, the story turns to the emigration of the entire culture and people of Keplerin to a new planet, Socor, and their lives for a period of 60 years on massive Ark Ships during the journey to their new planet. This book also relates the experiences of a small group of aliens who came to Earth, and the struggles of humans on Earth, as governments turn autocratic and the environment warms. As in the first book, both Keplerians and the people of Earth struggle with social and societal issues in their respective cultures. This book is a work of fiction. Specific names, places, characters, and events in the story are the products of imagination, although some current political figures, such as President Trump, are mentioned in the context of their actions and their type of governance. Additionally, general environmental and sociological trends, such as global warming and fake news, taken from current events, play large roles in the story. Speculations about the consequences of those trends into our near-term future are imagined. The story unfolds over a period of about sixty years, beginning shortly after Keplerin was destroyed by asteroids and a space-time warp shuttle from Keplerin arrived on Earth. The story accordingly covers the span of years from about 2015 to 2075. Book 3 of the trilogy will also start at the time Keplerin was destroyed but will primarily cover events on Earth and their destination planet, Socor, during the period from about 2070 on into the future. It will explore how the Keplerians colonize their new world and how Earth might surmount enormous environmental and political troubles.
