This is my first Cavanaugh book and I really liked it. The family’s closeness, the way they can tease and support one another, drew me in. Gracyn was a great heroine - sweet, headstrong, sassy, loyal and hardworking....kind of the perfect woman. Joe had that silver fox vibe going on without too much silver - confirmed bachelor, hardworking, loyal...you see where I’m going with this. They just fit. Make sense...even though they are almost twenty years apart. Although we have a little angst in this story, I found it mostly sweet and romantic. A nice, big family type romance.

I loved the instant lust that both Joe and Gracyn had for the other one and how much they tried to fight their most basic instincts. Love is love no matter what age you...age is just a number! Gracyn is definitely the type of woman who can keep Joe on his toes and make him picture a future he never knew he always wanted.
I also enjoyed the family dynamic and Gracyn having two fathers and though I was totally prepared for both of her dads to go all alpha and domineering over the fact that their daughter is in love with their best friend, but the way everything goes down totally catches me by surprise; but I am not going to spoil that for any new readers you will have to read for yourself.
The whole story takes you up and down and back and forth and through an array of emotions that you see coming but still are not ready for the impact. Although, I think some of the transitioning was a little rough and some of the time jumps had me having to catch up a bit, but overall I loved this story and reading it was the best kind of Sin!!!

This is a well written book with strong characters and a great story line. The author takes you on an emotional journey filled with drama and suspense as well as the sizzling chemistry. She brings all the feels and moves the story fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes. I loved and would recommend this book.

Wow, what a story. I couldn't put it down once started.
Jody Kaye did amazing job on this book. And played with my emotions.
I loved Graysn and Joe together, even though they had everything against them. They still loved each other.

I loved this book...quick read, steamy and sweet. Age gap, but not creepy...even forgot about the age gap at one point! Loved the heroine--strong and sassy and Joe was swoon worthy for sure! Now I'm definitely curious about all the side characters that I met during this read!

I love how it comes about that Joe and Gracyn come together even though they have connections through her family/ his friends. It makes it much more complicated when you aren’t a hundred percent sure yourself to then have to keep it secret till you figure it out.
Really the way it is written is wonderful and you can truly see all the sides of all the characters involved. It is not a simple cut and dried story and there are a few surprises along the way.

4 heartwarming stars!
I love the development of this story and the characters!! I was really pulled in once I got to know them! It's definitely a different story than what I expected and that's perfect! I will definitely be reading more from Jody in the future!

I love age gap romances, so this book looked really interesting. Beyond the delicious forbidden love factor, I really enjoyed the continuing family drama that surrounds the Cavanaugh family.
First I want to start with Joe because he was a guy I wanted to love but I felt so disconnected with him. He's a close family friend of the Cavanaugh's but his interactions with Gracyn were of strangers meeting for the first time. These two are definitely hot together, don't get me wrong, but I wanted to know more about his past, his deeper connection with the Cavanaugh family, I mean anything personal. The only thing I really knew was that Joe was a cop and that he was older than Gracyn. That's it.
While Joe is a plain character, Gracyn Cavanaugh is a really complicated but interesting character. She's an independent, headstrong young woman trying to prove herself in the business side of her family's vineyard, but her personal life has left her insecure about her place in her family. Her friendship with Joe is not just a forbidden secret, but a way to escape reality. Even though I struggled to love Joe, I still liked the connection between these two.
Gray Sin is connected to the Kingbrier Quintuplets series but I think this story can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I have read by Jody Kaye, but now I need to go back and read the beginning of the Kingbrier series so I can know more about the Cavanaugh family.

Her rescue comes in the firm of sherif Joe, a friend of the family. He looks good, filling out his jeans so well and just a little salt in the pepper of his hair.
They are stranded for the night due to flooding.

When Gracyn is rescued by Joe she wasn’t expecting the feelings she would have for him or the fact that she couldn’t stay away. What started out as casual, turned into a friendship and then a relationship but will they be able to overcome all the obstacles that try to force them apart?
Not only are Joe and Gracyn great characters but we get to catch up with all the other characters we know and love. Heat, family and all the feels.

Oh my holy hotness! Joe and Gracyn are acquaintances. Joe is friends with Gracyn's parents and comes to her rescue during a storm. It quickly escalaltes into a lot more than just acquaintances when they find themselves alone in Joe's cabin.
Joe and Syn are HOT together! Their chemistry and banter keep you pulled into the book. They find themselves keeping their relationship a secret and that ends up blowing up in Syn's face when it comes to her parents, one in particular.
Joe refuses to be without his Syn so he will do whatever is needed to keep her in his life. They have to fight to keep their relationship first.
I would love to see more of this couple! They absolutely sucked me into their story!

I know that I say this every time I read one of Jody's books, but it is true! I think she can't possibly do better, and then she blows my mind!
Gray Sin is the story of Joe (Brier's former partner and Drew's best friend)and Gracyn (daughter of Adam and Colton), part of the Kingsbrier legacy, but not part of the Kingsbrier Quintuplets series. It could be easily read as a stand-alone; however, having read the books in the series, this story was more like a reunion of old friends.
It is very difficult to write a review without spoilers in it for this story, so I will just say that you MUST read it. Be prepared for one of the most emotionally charged stories of your life. I sobbed my heart out. If I could give Jody 10 stars, I would!!!

Three and a Half Stars ⭐️
“Gray Sin” Was my first book by Jody Kaye. As a huge, huge fan of Forbidden Romance reads I jumped at the chance to read an ARC of this book. Gracyn is a motivated albeit young, businesswoman. She is determined and hardworking. Joe is in law enforcement and her fathers’ good friend. The sparks fly between these two and they end up hooking up. But nothing is simple, especially their attraction to one another. Giving into it leads to all kinds of upheaval and confusion but as with all good romance books they do eventually get their much deserved HEA.

Another first for me with this story and coming across this author. The fun of reading at times is not just reading your favorites but discovering the ones still out there that snare you. This is centered around Joe and Gracyn whom in no time at all have your undivided attention. What started out as one thing turns into something else unfolding for us to see. You do not skip a beat having to see where this goes and if it stays.

This was a great read that kept my interest from the very beginning all the way till the end. It moved along at the perfect speed making it a nice comfortable read. The characters are very well written and you feel as though you know them personally and no matter what you want to see them succeed. The story is great and will you wanting more.

Another amazing story by Jody Kaye! I am a huge fan of the Kingsbrier Quintuplet series, and Gray Sin was the icing on the cake! This is one of the best Older Man/Younger Woman romances I've ever read! Beautifully written with amazing characters, this is another FIVE STAR read for me!

This was the first book I have read from this Author. I enjoyed watching Joe & Gracyn navigate thru their feelings and grow. It was a well-written and engaging. I loved the family dynamic in this one and it made me want to read more of The Kingsbrier Quintuplets Series.

Gray Sin was the first book that I have read from Jody Kaye and I absolutely loved this was the one that introduced me to her writing style because I love a good older man/younger woman story. Joe and Gracyn's banter instantly pulled me in and their chemistry set my heart on fire. Their forbidden romance sent butterflies throughout my entire body and I was on the edge of my seat waiting for their bomb to drop...
This story was well written and the pace was perfect for me because I was able to read it in one sitting. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters, especially since this book is a spin-off to a previous series, one of which I plan on checking out. I am so glad I decided to give this book a chance and I hope you all do too!

Gracyn gets caught in flood waters during a storm. Joe is on his way home and rescues her. Despite having been on the periphery of one another’s lives for years due to mutual friends and family. This is this first time they find themselves thrown together. Alone. For one night.
Overall a great read, with lots to enjoy.
However the descriptive start made it difficult to get past the first few pages and felt the main story line was drawn out with a rushed ending.
For followers of the Kingsbrier Quintuplet series this is a treat to revisit with old friends, though Collette was M.I.A.
This is an honest review of a pre release free copy.

Gray Sin by Jody Kaye is part of the The Kingsbrier Legacy Series. This is the story of Joe and Gracyn and the first book I have read by this author...so for me a standalone book.
Joe and Gracyn have known each other via friends and family but never actually been alone or interacted with each other. Joe is the older man to her young self so that added to them never really mixing it up together. But then Gracyn needed saving which Joe was there to save her and they ended up seeing there was a strong attraction between the two. Thinking their fire would be for one night turned into something more but can it last?

Gray Sin is a May-December romance with all the twists and turns you might expect from the Cavanaugh family of the Kingsbrier Quintuplets series. Graycen leads the next generation of the family into love, but that love comes at a cost. Joe is torn between what is right, and what is fate. I love the reveals, the unexpected events, and how the story all comes together in the end. The Cavanaugh legacy lives on!

My first book from this author and I am not disappointed.
There’s so much that I adore about this book I can’t even. This book is big on family. The family tree is definitely complicated and the whole list of character introduction at the beginning was definitely a bit daunting and turn offish for me but it wasn’t hard to piece the characters as you delve into the story. This book definitely pulled me right in, I had no issue with the pacing and loved the dialogue. I devoured it all in one sitting. My only complaint would be that the transitions between scenes were not as smooth and a bit harder to follow.
Gracyn’s character definitely outshines Joe’s. I loved that Gracyn was self-assured when it came to her personal life, she knew what she wanted, wouldn’t settle for less than she deserved and did not beat around the bush. She was quite charming and took little for you to like her. It was great to see her character development/realisations which she came to near the end. Joe was definitely the one that took longer to warm up to. He kept underestimating Gracyn and pushing his perception he had of her, which of course didn’t take long for him to realise how wrong he was. As much as Joe felt for Gracyn he had been burned before when it came to love so his hesitation and push and pull was justifiable.
The age difference is no kink, rather it’s just one of the things that just happens to be part of their relationship. The romance is not weird given how absent Joe was in Gracyn’s early life (kinda reminds me of Monica&Richard). Though the age difference does add to their turmoil (mainly Joe's)

I enjoy Jody’s books about the Kingsbrier family. The matriarch Rose and her husband Ross were parents to quintuplets that all got their own books. This book is about Gracyn, the daughter of one quintuplet and step-daughter of another. Her backstory is very complicated but also beautiful. She’s an amazing character. So strong and independent and willing to fight for those that she loves. In her story she falls for her fathers’ close friend Joe.
Joe is a police officer and quite a bit older than Gracyn. When they see each other for the first time in years, Gracyn decides she wants him and is willing to put in the work to get and keep him. I loved the progression of their relationship. It’s not easy to fall in love with someone who is older. Especially not someone who is best friends with your parents. I liked how Jody addressed these concerns and situations in the book.
This couple is so sweet together. I loved Joe’s character! He falls in love with Gracyn but is prepared to live his life without her if that will fix things so that she will be happy. He was single for years, and his observation was that he was waiting for her to come along he just didn’t know it. Even waiting for her for so long, he would be prepared to walk away if that’s what she needed from him. The ending of their story was wonderful! I hope to see this beautiful couple in other stories about this family.

Joe is a police officer and quite a bit older than Gracyn. When they see each other for the first time in years, Gracyn decides she wants him and is willing to put in the work to get and keep him. I loved the progression of their relationship. It’s not easy to fall in love with someone who is older. Especially not someone who is best friends with your parents. I liked how Jody addressed these concerns and situations in the book.
This couple is so sweet together. I loved Joe’s character! He falls in love with Gracyn but is prepared to live his life without her if that will fix things so that she will be happy. He was single for years, and his observation was that he was waiting for her to come along he just didn’t know it. Even waiting for her for so long, he would be prepared to walk away if that’s what she needed from him. The ending of their story was wonderful! I hope to see this beautiful couple in other stories about this family.

This book is set after the others, but fits seemlessly in the family.
Gracyn Adair has always been trouble for Joe. As a member of the local police force, he should have been harder on her as a crazy teenager. He just couldn't do it to Temple and Ross's daughter.
Now Joe is saving her again when Gracyn returns to town and manages to get stuck. She has grown up and the attraction between them is strong.
They can't stay apart. Joe is worried about what people will say about the age differance. They are worried about the families reaction to them as a couple. What will her parents say. Joe is very good friends with her fathers and that complicates things.
Very much worth the time to read. A wonderful addition to the series.

This book is part of the Kingsbrier series, second generation. Younger female (Graycin) & older male.(Joe).
Graycin has now grown up to become a sensible adult within a well know and established extended family. Joe is long term a cop, friend of the brothers and others in the family. Joe rescues Graycin from her car during a stormy night and from there they develop a relationship, but it is keep secret until they are able to come to terms on it being stable. It come to light when her birth father Adam turns up at her door as they have just broken up..he come to terms with it, but her step father Colton, brother to Adam, finds it difficult when he discovers they are together.
It is well written and there are worries and disappointments on both sides but turns out well in the end

Life can be beautifully messy...

This is one of those's books that has to be consumed all in one sitting; kinda like your favorite dessert that your feverishly trying to finish off because your totally gluten for punishment and it's O'clock and your eyes wanted to give up... But nope.
Graycin, yep her name should say everything you need to know.
There's is absolutely no controlling or even hoping to contain a woman like her; she's an exciting force to be reckoned with when she's being good.
However when she's being bad the only thing you can do is pray you'll still be standing when she's done.

Finding shelter in a storm
Gray Sin is about Joe and Gracyn, so it is part of the Kingbrier series even though it is not specified as such. If you have not read the Kingbrier series then there will be times that you can get lost, as the family is big and the names are flying. But at the heart this is a story about an older man and younger woman who end up finding love with each other when they are not looking for it.
As I have not read any of the Kingbrier series books I was a bit lost at times but I always found my way back to Gracyn and Joe. The story-line kept my attention and I really enjoyed the the main characters. I did have a few issues with some of the writing at times but on the whole Gray Sin was a good read.
