What a contest! It was a tie thanks to Midari. Finally, we will see a match between Ririka and Kirari in the conclusion. Although it doesn't occur in the manga, Kirari and Yumeko did face off in an anime match in the first season that naturally ended in a draw, which is what I had been wanting to see all along.

More of a 3.5 star rating;
I love the flashbacks that were included at various points of this volume. I also really enjoy seeing the dynamic between Mary and Yumeko, and how even if they’re rivals at the gambling table, the two girls are friends.
I’m choosing to stop reading this series, however that absolutely doesn’t mean it isn’t good. I simply lost interest in the overall plot compared to when I first started to reading it.

Droga do wielkiego finału była wyboista, zaskakująca, widowiskowa, emocjonalna i przesiąknięta całą masą oszustw. Na placu boju ostatecznie ostały się dwie nastolatki Yumeko Jabami i Mary Saotome. Obie zmierzą się o miano tej najlepszej w pokerowej rozgrywce o pozornie prostych zasadach. Dziewczyny mają zupełnie inne charaktery i co innego je motywuje. Mary niebywale mocno pragnie zwycięstwa i chce zostać przewodniczącą (co będzie dla niej nagrodą po masie upokorzeń). Yumeko zaś jak zawsze podchodzi do wyzwania jako do dobrej „hazardowej” zabawy i interesuje ją tylko sama gra, a nie jej wynik. Dwie przeciwności i dwa genialne umysły wyniosą jednak grę na niespodziewany poziom, dostarczając tym samym czytelnikowi porcji niezapomnianych wrażeń.

Dramat, emocje, zaskakujące zwroty akcji i czyste szaleństwo – tak w bardzo dużym uproszczeniu można podsumować trzynastą część serii. Cykl od samego początku stara się łączyć typowo „shonenowe” schematy z nietuzinkową treścią, w której prym wiodą mocno charakterni bohaterowie. To właśnie postacie są największą wartością mangi i nie inaczej jest w przypadku recenzowanego tomiku. Mamy bowiem tutaj do czynienia z czymś więcej niż tylko walką o stanowisko przewodniczącej. Ścierają się tu dwa niesamowite umysły, które więcej dzieli niż łączy. Każda kolejna przeczytana strona ukazuje jednak mocno skomplikowaną prawdę, w której nic nie jest nadmiernie oczywiste. Autor bawi się tutaj czytelnikiem, podsuwając mu pewne fabularne podpowiedzi, aby po chwili go całkowicie zaskoczyć czymś pozornie kompletnie irracjonalnym. Nie każdemu taki sposób prowadzenia fabuły musi się podobać, dla fanów serii jest to jednak jedna z większych zalet historii.

Niczego nowego nie można napisać na temat oprawy rysunkowej. Kolejny raz prym wiodą tutaj genialne projekty postaci i emocje ukazane na ich twarzach. Strach, złość, nienawiść, podniecenie, szaleństwo. Wszystko to ma odbicie w spojrzeniach bohaterek i zmienia się wraz z rozwojem gry.

Now this volume was a lot of fun. Both Kawamoto and Naomura were able to showcase how Mary has grown as a character since the start of the series, and how she and Yumeko played against each other was thrilling to read in a single sitting. Terano's rationale was also highlighted. I'm also thankful for this because it helps me understand more of what she wants out of this election beyond her hatred of Kirari. There was one minor detail (both translation and character wise) I found belittling, but that didn't change the fact this part of the Grand Meeting was my favorite gamble not covered in the anime so far. After its iffy start, I appreciate that.

Mary vs Yumeko was peak!! i loved the Mary pov flashbacks of the past games and events and i really like that she's a more down to earth character, and her arc was super entertaining to read!! the tie was probably a foregone conclusion but i hope they have a match again soon!!

This series manages to always keep its motifs fresh and enticing, generating a ton more buzz around them than what meets the eye. Obvisouly, it's nothing too mind-blowing, but it's definitely entertaining through out.

This tournament arc is the best yet, in my opinion.
