This series got one of my favorite manga art styles ever, so a full color art book is of course a big win. 10/10, would plaster my walls with these artworks and I will probably flip through this with every new volume I read. ❤️❤️❤️
This is an official art book and each piece of art looks absolutely stunning. Even the pieces that are spread onto 2 pages, which I found lovely since occasionally the crease or split in the pages didn’t hinder the art.
I really like the art style of the comic, so I bought the artbook. The color palette usually has a redder tone to them, and the lines of the characters and objects are interesting, as they usually have an edge to them instead of straight up a smooth curve, and the lines have not only one color, but at least two fo just a part of the drawing. The art pieces are usually really colorful but are also harmonious and don't clash together. My favorite point of the artists' art would be the way they blend and shade things, they do not blend things almost at all, instead, they connect colors by "sewing them together". The way they use to sew them together is to have two blocks of colors and to use lines poking out of the blocks of color to connect the 2 colors. And the effect that resulted in this technique is interesting, and I like it a lot. There are also keychain or postcard designs, for someone who wishes to become an illustrator, it was helpful as I have an example of what to do if I am making Merch one day.
I think I speak for most of us when I say that Aidalro’s art is one of the best things about Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun.
Aidalro’s art and style finds such a balance between being legible and edgy—it’s crisp yet rough at the same time. I find their style to really meld what is so great about the styles of series like Gege’s “Jujutsu Kaisen” and Kazue Kato’s “Blue Exorcist”. It’s so dynamic and aesthetic—just candy for the eyes.
This collection is just a wonderful showcase.
It’s so nice to get the chance to savor Aidalro’s art—full-size and in full color. There are some genuinely beautiful, sweet, and bittersweet illustrations in this collection.
I love Hanako-kun so I obviously had to "read" this magnificent art book. the illustrations are as beautiful as always and I really admire the way the artist has for picking out the colors, her palette is always delightful. as for the character design, I'm a big fan of how every character has their own personality that you can easily distinguish by their physical appearances, each of them have a special feature or detail that make them all special in a way. i simply love this manga series and for anyone who also likes it, or even people interested in art, I couldn't recommend it enough since the artist uses truly compelling techniques that are a wonder to look at.
This is basically a book of all of Aida Iro's official art of the characters from Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun. The art is amazing and beautiful and i dont regret buying this book.
BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING, GORGEOUS, SHOWSTOPPING ART from Aida of AidaIro, my favorite artist for the last ~5 years. No complaints with their art at all, even the older, more wonky ones! My qualm is with how it was formatted for printing... either this book should have saved more art for Volume 2, or this book needed to be bigger. The reason I say this is because some of the arts can have like, 5 or something drawings crammed onto one page for promotional arts!!!! >:( I adore all the art and I use this book as reference for drawing the characters as well as getting inspo in general. But!!!! Some of the pictures are so small that I can't make out the characters' detailed outfits in an already-small canvas size (when the artist originally drew it), but then they're shrunk down EVEN FURTHER!!! Also, some of these arts are very difficult to find online, so this book is a godsend... for the most part, I hope with Volume 3 they won't cram too much into one space! I got this right when it came to English release :). The way they translated even small labels (in the art) is really helpful! Beautiful book <3
I LOVE LOVE LOVE art books. I love art books so much and tbhk happens to be one of my favorite manga series ever. I am in love with the artstyle and the illustrations. AidaIro has such a special style of story telling AND drawing. Having their drawings printed out in this size offers you a new opportunity to learn about it. You get much greater understanding of the way they color and you see their way of improvement it's insane. I hopw there'll be a 3rd one soon, because idk how long I'll do without more art to EAT UP
One of the most beautiful artbooks I've ever seen. I loved the pictures and the colors from this series, they're so special and lovely. Congratulations to the author, she is such an artist omg!! I recommend it a lot, specially for fans of Hanako kun Manga.
I’m going to be honest: I’ve never read TBHK… Did I pick up the art book? Yes. Yes, I did. The art style is unique and, along with the color theme and character designs, is super eye-catching. I love looking in this book for inspiration with my art.
The art is immaculate, specially the ornaments and the color theory are the main course of this masterpiece. You can see how much love and dedication the works have behind and that's what made me love it so much. Plus the cover as expected never disappoints
beautiful artbook, I really enjoyed seeing the difference and progress in the mangakas art style as the manga went on and especially the illustrations from the Picture Perfect arc
I just love Aidalro‘s art so much! The composition of the drawings is so well done as well! I really love how all the art pieces reflect the individual characters
