The next level, after a high school bully romance…
check out this crushing new college bully romance from Chloe Fischer.

She deserves everything I do to her, goddammit.

She’s one of them.

A treacherous, deceitful, slimy reporter.

Everyone knows they’re full of lies and slander. Completely uncaring of who gets hurt by their accusations.

I wasn't able to protect my brother before the accusations and torment of a reporter got him killed, but I’d do everything in my power to take down this reporter.

And I'll take every, single, last ounce of my revenge out on her.

She needs me...so much more than I need her.
In fact, her career rides on whether or not I give her interviews and access to our league-topping college football team. After all, I'm the captain. The star. The one every single reporter needs to be friends with.

And when my heart starts to soften for the look in her baby blue eyes, I just have to harden my resolve – and remember what her kind has taken from me. Everything.

Revenge. That has to be the name of my game.

Their interviews are incendiary!

Odette/Odie is a journalism major who has annoyed her editor. She did a few exposes that made her pretty unpopular. She is demoted to sports. Marcus, her editor, thinks this will get her to quit. Little did he count on her determination. After all, it's her senior year. She is not giving up.

So she finds herself covering the Wolverines. Football. A topic she knows nothing about. But she isn't going to let that stop her from succeeding at this.

She also finds herself the target of the quarterback, Darien. And he doesn't trust her at all.

But, boy, do they have chemistry. Even if they despise each other.

Darien has a secret and Odie wants to find it.

Although their biggest secrets are that neither of them can resist the other.

Dare is a bit of a jerk to protect his secret. And punish Odie for being a reporter and way too hot.

Fire, feistiness, heat, a touch of tragedy, and lots of hot hot hot.

I just love enemies to lovers and bully romances give me that in spades.

I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Love thy bully

This was a recommended read by another author I one-click all the time. So I gave this a go, first time reading anything by this author. At first I wasn’t sure I liked the dual third person POV, but I got used to it after a few chapters. I really wanted more backstory on both characters, because by the time everything settled I felt like some issues that the characters made into big deals throughout this story were swept under the rug. I was like “oh maybe that wasn’t a big deal after all, all your daddy issues, which I still have no real certainty on why you have them to begin with, but now it’s not important anymore? Ok?”
I get this was a bully romance and that despite his horrible attitude towards the heroine and playing her like a fool, hot and cold, she just can’t help but fall for him. Because he’s gorgeous and perhaps those daddy issues are at play here? Because I would’ve dropped him like a hot potato. But I just didn’t feel this magnetic pull they supposedly had. It didn’t feel real enough. That’s just me though. This is kinda slow in the beginning and just a tad bit cliche, but this author is really good at creating a power dynamic. Who’s going to win this showdown? So I kept on winning even though I know that it’s me who’s the winner 😉
The epilogue was a quick and unexpected little look at them a month from the last time we see them and everything is perfect. Usually I’m like eye rolling and going psssst yeah right. But it’s cute for sure, so I just went with it.

>Book Review – Torment
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Bully series and ends with an HEA. Darien is the star college QB with an extreme dislike of reporters. There is a story behind why he hate reporters, which isn’t revealed until much later in the story. Odette wants to be a reporter and is given the sports beat. Her backstory is not explained very well. Odette comes from a wealthy family, but she hates her dad. The reason behind her hate is not developed. Their relationship is shown as problematic, until her father makes one appearance at the end and everything is okay again.
>The story really misses out on what could have been a juicy beginning and a heartwarming ending. The middle part of the story is good, but just abrupt. The end feels too quick and one feels as if a lot is missed in the beginning.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars.

ONE AMAZING DELIGHTFUL TREAT!!!
Giddy on up! Chloe rushes through like a thief in the night, zipping 'em up and battening 'em down, racing full throttle, tossing this gem into a tailspin with such a prize winning, mind blowing culmination. Distributing delightful, well rounded scenario's, revving up the anticipation and adrenaline, with such intensity and precision, blazing this gem to life brilliantly. Bumbling through the trials and tribulations, along with thrilling twists and sleek turns, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth. The chemistry and attraction is intense, white hot and explosive. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with such colorful descriptions it gives you a full understanding and realism that flow smoothly. Awesome job Chloe, thanks for sharing this incredible jewel with us.

This is a bully romance that needs no introduction. Odette is a sweet girl looking to make her mark on the world as a reporter. She starts in news and is transferred to being a sportscaster because she pisses off the wrong people and essentially they want her to quit. Her first day in the locker room she meets the hunky quarterback Darien who she notices commanding the room. Darien’s secrets come between them at the beginning making it difficult for him to trust her and the lies she spreads. Or so he thinks. He torments her until he sees past what she does as a career and becomes consumed by her... Will he be able to overcome his dark past, and learn to love the enemy... And can Odette get over the things he says and does to deter her? You won’t be able to stop once you start... Good luck :)

Mediocre story, great editing. Story did not really go anywhere; it was uninspiring. Just an enemy to lovers story high school fare with a reporter heroine and football star hero. No real bullying, misunderstanding about the facts of her reporting. We get some chemistry between the two MCs. Stopped at 55%. I knew how the story would play out — more chemistry, fall in like, realize the misunderstanding, the end.

I loved Odette and Darien!! Because of their backgrounds they were not fans of each other and frustrated each other with a bit of attraction underneath. (; There's a couple of great twists in this story that just tugs at your heart. I definitely recommend this book even if I did voluntarily review an advanced copy of this book.

good thing I already figured out that this point that the big twist was Darien had a secret kid in Chicago, because Odette's fingerwagging about Thanksgiving made me an actual out-loud "Oh, for FUCK'S sake!"

I love the way Chloe writes her characters. Well developed and interesting. Odette and Darien are no different. Darien is cautious of Odette because of his brother's experience with a different reporter that got him killed. He's not going to let the same thing happen to himself. If you like the work of LJ Shen, you are going to love Chloe Fischer's new novel.
