“Your pain is mine now, just as mine is yours.” Pain of betrayal by the only man I've ever loved derails my life. As a professional marriage counsellor, I have the knowledge of the tools and techniques to help me cope, yet I find myself unable to use any of them effectively, plunging into a wide range of self-destructing behaviours, instead. A lifelong enemy of my family, the dangerously irresistible Raim, promises to be the most devastatingly destructive of them all. Yet he appears to be the only one capable of saving me from my pain and from myself. Neither of us knows that there is so much more that connects us all, more than even the former Grand Master of the Incubi Council who lived for a millennium could be aware of. Now, everyone with demons’ blood in them will need to get together, before the apocalypse, masterminded by a man with nothing to lose, will end the Incubi's millennium-long existence in our world.

Well, after reading book 1, I didn't think I would ever be into reading a redemption arc for Raim, but apparently, my abilities to forgive hot villains for any crime is limitless, because this was definitely my favourite book in the whole series!
Raim was everythinggg. I just love the cold, mysterious, closed-off anti-hero with the dark and damaged past who slowly softens for the right woman. YES. GIMME. My only complaint about this book is that because it was fairly short, like all the books in the series, I wished there was a little more time to get into the nitty-gritty of the romance. It definitely wasn't easy for Raim to finally fall in love, but I wanted to be EXCRUCIATING.
Still, this was an awesome conclusion to the series, and Dee and Raim made an awesome couple. I loved how Raim earned his forgiveness without any groveling or emasculation, and he stayed the same proud character I melted for with just an added touch of softness only for his woman. *swoon*
I have so many thoughts and feelings about this book it’s so hard to organize them. First of all, I loved Raim’s story. He’s intense and amazing like I imagined. 🖤 So much love for this series and I’m sad to see it end.
SPOILERS AHEAD STOP HERE IF YOU DON’T WANT 🛑 . .. ...
There has been a shared universe and mythology within Simcoe’s PNR novels. Some authors just allow those threads they’ve seeded that connect their books together to unravel. It’s disappointing when it happens. You’re always left wondering about those little details. I am ecstatic to share that this is not the case! In The Real Thing, we meet Marcus, an enigmatic magician with legit powers. I won’t bog you down with the details (because if you haven’t read it yet, you seriously need to) but Marcus is distantly related to our demons. And that plot thread is addressed and tied up so beautifully I almost cried.
It feels like the end of an era really. With this mythology coming to a close I am super excited to see what comes next. I love the way the plot develops and the characters intertwine and grow.
What a great ending to Raim’s story and the series...although I wish the series could continue. This book perfectly handles the complex questions and emotions Raim has due to his past. It answers the readers questions even as they are forming that question in their mind. I would never thought I’d end up loving him. High praise for the author in developing such an intricate plot line.

The Last Unforgiven,Freed is the final book and the conclusion of Marina Simcoe’s Demons series. A well written story that held my interest until the end. I want to read this series again. This is Human Delilah and incubus demon Raim's story, there is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, evil, a villain, forgiveness, and love. Great series and I was so happy that Raim got his happy ending..I enjoyed this author’s writing..each story kept me hooked and I am sad that this incubus series has come to an end.. I will definitely be reading more of her other stories 🥰
Simcoe does it again! These last two books have been about Raim and I loved his story so much! I was glad he found Dee to be his mate. I've followed these Demons through each and every book and had the best time!!!!
I really enjoyed the last installment of the Demons series - I loved the development of both Dee's and Raim's characters in this book, and the progress of their relationship overall. I think this is the best book in the series, and I know I'll be rereading it!

FINALLY RAIM HAS HIS STORY! Did I enjoyed it? YES. Was it mind-blowing? NO.
RAIM we've met or at least heard of depending on how much you've read from this series. It's been awhile since I returned to this and had to refresh my memory about the previous characters. Here, we have the Ex-Grand Master Raim who stepped down from his rule and now lives in isolation in his cold property in Switzerland. Raim's a sad and desolated creature in my opinion and I can't believe he's a virgin for all the centuries he has lived. It was honestly refreshing to meet a male who didn't stick it into any warm hole. Raim may have had the chance to love before but perhaps it was the war and everything going on in the era he was born in. The woman he held some sort of affection for betrayed him with another male he thought to be his friend and that's where the story leads us to centuries later. The amulet he has given Olyena is now in the possession of our heroine, Dee. Our story begins one night, an elder from the Priory pays him a visit to inform his of the Demons' impending death and any creature with a drop of Demon blood only has two months left to live, all thanks to an urn that can kill them all. Frankly to know more you'll have to read the novella before this that describes in detail what happened with Raim, touching on his summoning and I guess downfall/escape if you could call it that as a Demon. Raim may have been the reason why all the Demons are facing extinction now. Raim never feared death and now with the time ticking on his life, he doesn't have anything to lose except for some reason he recalls the amulet he has given Olyena once upon a lifetime ago and wants to know why it's in the hands of another woman. It didn't quite make sense but perhaps he was just feeling melancholy and nostalgic that spurred him to locate Dee and eventually they fall in love, whilst they are stuck on his little island near Pisa.
DEE is recovering from her divorce, unable to believe that the man she fell in love with could easily abandon her for a younger woman, leaving her in the dirt. At 33, Dee may not be as youthful but she's still beautiful in her own way. Dee has always thought bad about the Demons because her father believed his son to have been stolen by the Demons, thus Dee's prejudice against Raim when he made contact. Dee, on the other hand is still hurting and when Raim is there, she takes advantage of him only to have it backfire when he lapses into a painful memory, scaring her off. For a month, give or take, Dee barricades herself in Raim's room, being protected by a barrier courtesy of the amulet. That's the best part of the story for me when Raim woos her with his cooking. Raim may be old and inexperienced with sex but he's gentlemanly and adorable. I liked that he's caring and puts in effort. He's not the kind of male to do things half-heartedly. For me, I think that Dee just married the wrong man and was waiting for Raim to be ready for her all along.
OVERALL it was sweet. I do wish there was more time for Raim and Dee to further develop their relationship BUT half the beginning was focused on how they met and the other half is stopping the Priory from killing them.
Though every book in the Demon series can be read as a stand-alone, I really would not recommend that to anyone. One really needs to read it from the first book. There is an overall arc that is being slowly and almost unnoticeably built to have its final crescendo in the book five. As in all previous Demon books, characters´ deeds are completely aligned with their motivation, and their back-stories. And though I somewhat expected (or hoped, is more correct) the love story that happens in this final sequel, I am really happy how the author wrapped this story together. This is also one of the books (and romance readers will understand me ;-)) where you want the book to last longer (I kept checking the percentage in my Kindle to see how much I still have in the book, just to make sure there is still a lot for me to enjoy). I also really enjoyed the villain-to-hero switch of Raim, and it makes complete sense once you know his back-story and his personality (you get to know that in book 4, so don’t skip!) Obviously, I understand this is a matter of taste. My husband started reading it (wondering what on Earth got my undivided attention like this), but, its not his cup of tea. And that´s fine. But for me, as an author myself, I am in awe of the craft, of the plot development, of character built up, and most of all, of the emotion and energy where the book simply grabs you, engulfs your readers´ heart, where you cry with the protagonists at their peril, and laugh with them in their happy end. Really glad I discovered this author and this series.
"My sins are too grave and too many to ever hope for redemption.” -Raim
Raim is the last, the final Unforgiven. All other incubi had found their One, and had been forgiven... They had found happiness and peace in the arms of their beloveds. Raim was resigned to be alone for his remaining millennia... Then the Priory Elder came...
Still reeling from the pain of devastating betrayal by her barely ex-husband, Delilah Neri attempts to drown her sorrows. When that doesn't numb the pain, Delilah decided to seek out male companionship for just one night. Meeting Raim was a mistake.... Delilah knew what he was, she but was desperate to feel... something... Other than the envendless abyss of lost love's betrayal....
"In his arms I could truly be myself, whatever that happened to be—strong and independent , small and vulnerable, mad and raging. I didn’t need to pretend. Raim saw me for what I was, and he accepted all of me." - Delilah
But becoming entangled with Raim was a mistake, on so many levels. His eyes, his emotions, his presence... All pull Delilah towards him, no matter how hard she fights the desire to be closer... But malevolence lurks in the deeper shadows, insidious and seemingly as unstoppable as a tsunami, as Raim's time with Delilah comes closer to its inevitable end...
"All I have is this moment." - Raim
Haunting! Tendrils of desire twine throughout this story, enriching the scenes and adding subtle shadings to the characters' personalities. A captivating read!
I’ve read every book in this serious. More like devoured them. I love this series. So when it came time for Raim’s book I wasn’t so sure. Raim was a hard character for me to like. The way he was in the previous books made it difficult to like him let alone want to read a book about him. Even the book before this didn’t really improve my opinion of him. So when I started reading this book I didn’t have high hopes I was going to enjoy this book.
Turns out I was pleasantly surprised to find I couldn’t put the book down. Raim goes from an unloveable demon to very much loved. Dee brings out a side of him I didn’t think he was capable of having.
It definitely is great way to end the series. A demon that is so hard to love, let alone like, turns out to be one of my favorites.

After DNFing this book before (around the 50% mark although I don't know why) I read it in one day today. And it was a lovely end to this series. I really liked Dee and Raim together and I felt like the length of around 275 pages was perfect. I feel like a lot of recent books are getting longer and longer and I honestly have a hard time finishing those long books or even series.
My only complaint is that Dee and surprisingly even Raim lacked a bit of depth. I know Raim has an interesting backstory but it wasn't enough for him to qualify as a complex character. He just kind of lacked character development. He changed, yes, but it didn't really feel like proper development. I think he changed the most in the past books and this book functioned more like a "showing the change" instead of "being the change".
A thrilling finale for the Last Unforgiven! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The power of love is amazing! I loved watching this tale unfold. I already knew how much rage Raim felt over his past. Many things are clarified here. Delilah Neri is something else! A very unusual woman who is currently experiencing loss. Meeting Raim is a turning point for her. Raim and Delilah clearly affect each other as they interact. His focus becomes her protection. It’s only a few weeks, but the changes in their feelings are intense! Watch what happens now that the fires are lit. I was delighted to see a surprising number of familiar faces from the author’s other books, deftly interwoven for a very exciting story. I’m taking a break from reading now, so I can savor thoughts about this book. Definitely a ‘must-read!’
Gah! It's over. I will surely miss this series, but it ended with a wonderful layout! Rain and Delilah's story entwined in my heart like all the rest of them did, but maybe more since this was the final I think it hit more knowing this was goodbye to them all. With that said this has been such an amazing and satisfying fantasy filled with so much sizzling love and adventure to last a lifetime!

I was really curious to know Raim's story. It was interesting to know about the Grandmaster. As usual amazing storytelling Marina Simcoe! I was totally not expecting that ending. And the smut... Holy smokes!!! Really liked it! Don't read it before the other books in the series though.

Satisfying end to a good series. Raim's story was interesting but didn't blow me away. I found Dee's character a bit too outgoing, but I think to catch the ex Grand Masters attention she had to be. 😋 I liked, that Raim finally got his HEA, even if I had my problems with Dee's character. Overall a good story and end for the Demons series.
I truly hate seeing this series come to an end, but am glad that it ended the way it did. Raim has been an amazing character throughout the series and he is a character that you sometimes loved to hate. That being said, with this final book, the second part to Raim's story, you finally understand why he is the Demon he is. Raim is broken and truly believes he doesn't deserve to be redeemed.
But even Raim deserves a second chance, and his second chance comes in the form of Delilah Neri. Dee reminds Raim of someone he knew long ago and he wants to figure out how it is that Dee is wearing his stone around her neck. When he realizes that Dee is a descendant of the woman who helped him all those years ago and his once friend, his goal is to see her safe. He didn't count on falling in love with her.
