An MC President and his enemy’s son make for an explosive combination …

Blade has a motorcycle club to run and he doesn’t need a turf war on his hands. When a beautiful young man with haunted eyes walks into his bar, Blade’s protective instincts roar to the surface. The kid clearly isn’t made for MC life, but once Blade has had a taste, he can’t let go.

All MCs can burn in hell, as far as Logan is concerned. He’s seen the way his father runs his club, and he wants nothing to do with the life. But infiltrating Hell’s Ankhor is his one chance at escape, and now he’s in the crosshairs of the sexy as sin, President Blade. How can Logan resist the strong, protective man when he’s everything he’s ever wanted in a partner?

But Blade is still a big rough biker who will do anything to protect his club. What will he do when he finds out who Logan truly is? And how much destruction will Logan’s father cause when he finds his son in bed with the enemy?

This was not as dark or intense as I usually like my MC romances but I still enjoyed the hell out of reading it. Sure, the plot of an MC prez and the rival’s MC president’s son is not new but the found family and tenderness here really did it for me.

Something about him tugged at my protective instincts, but he wasn’t helpless. A steel thread of strength ran through him.

I fell in love not only with the mcs but with the whole cast of characters and I’m def sticking around for at least the next two or three books.

This was okay. Pretty decent. Nothing to write home about, though.

I wouldn't say this book is very deep or got me emotionally invested, but it was somewhat entertaining and managed to keep me moderately interested throughout.

I liked the idea of a motorcycle club's president falling for his enemy's son, but it wasn't properly fleshed out. The climax of Blade finding out about Logan's identity happened almost at the end, and before that it was mostly just them dancing around each other, living a life still based on a lie. I wish Logan would have told Blake sooner, so we could have gotten more storyline actually based on them being 'enemies' and then accepting/trusting each other.

Now, when Blade did finally find out who Logan was, it honestly annoyed me to no end how he reacted. SPOILER: I cannot believe that he was willing to let Logan be killed because of his lie. I mean, seriously? He knew Logan was being abused by his dad, and that there was no way he was voluntarily with the bastard, but he decides to just walk away? What the hell.
The only reason Blake even gave Logan the time of day after this revelation was because Logan decided to take a bullet for him. Otherwise he would've just left Logan in the dirt. Not cool. And also, very much not romantic. Not even the rest of the club members thought what Blake did was okay; they still wanted to save Logan. Not Blake though. Pfft.

Unsurprisingly, I definitely preferred Logan over Blake. I didn't feel much of a connection to Blake to begin with, as he was kind of a blank character to me. With Logan I at least felt sorry for him about his past, but also respected him for his personality. I generally liked Logan; I just wish he wasn't so dumb about the secret identity thing.

The chemistry between Logan and Blake was average at best. They had a few cute moments, but never anything that captured me fully or made me feel weak in the knees. It was all very basic and cookie-cutter.

I thought the motorcycle club dynamics in the book were engaging, even if they were featured less than I was expecting. I could definitely see a found-family vibe here.
I liked a few of these side characters quite a bit, namely Coop, Raven and Priest. And I would be excited about the next book, which features Raven, if it weren't for the fact that Gunnar (his love interest) kind of annoys me, and I feel like he's not going to treat Raven right. Just a gut feeling, though; I hope I'm wrong.

The storyline surrounding club business was adequate, and luckily didn't take over the entire plot. The rivalry was fleshed out appropriately, and the rest didn't interest me much, but it didn't bother me either.

All in all, I can't say I loved this book, but I didn't have a big problem with it either. It's kind of whatever.

I’m blaming the delicious cover. Okay so I did read/skim this book to the end. Which has got to count for something right?

I liked the characters. This is a different MC a softer more caring all encompassing family kind of MC. And it should have worked well but...

Seriously....

Just pulling my soapbox over for a minute. I won’t be long.

Now I hate it when one character (doesn’t matter who, why or when) sits on something that they know is going to come out.

So not only did Logan sit on this secret. Which he knew didn’t have a chance in hell of remaining a secret. But we also had a seemingly endless amount of internal dialogue about it to contend with.

It was mind numbing how boring and repetitive this was. I’m not a violent person but even I wanted to hit Logan at times.

Now I wasn’t intending to read the next book. But then the end of this one when it focused on Raven and Gunner made me reconsider. So I checked out the reviews...
Most complain about the endless he likes me, he likes me not push and pull. So I’m tapping out.

This started off fun. Logan has had enough of being the punching bag of his MC President father and is on the run, only to end up attracting the romantic attention of the Hells Ankhor President when his car breaks down. So, the setup was good and I thought the characters were interesting enough.
But the Hells Ankhor MC are not one percenters. They come across as more of a quaint club than hardened MC, which didn’t quite hit the mark for me, but I’ll go with it.

But a few things...Blade, the President, doesn’t have much casual sex because he doesn’t want to set a bad example for the other members...ummm, ok...and he’s constantly wondering how he can balance being a good President with having a potential relationship with Logan. Honestly, these are not issues I’ve ever come across in another MC book but I’m still reading. But the mystery of the drugs getting into town was interesting. And there’s some, mostly off-page, violence to show what the MC is capable of, so you know these guys & girl (yes, the HAMC accept everyone into their ranks) are badarse when they need to be, I suppose.

But where this fell down, for me, was Logan and his constant and frustrating internal dialogue. One minute he’s going to tell Blade about being linked to his enemy, the next he can’t, he won’t, but he should, he really should, but he can’t, it’s too late, he’ll lose everything, but he should, but he can’t, and now it’s definitely too late, he’s probably going to get killed so what does it matter...but he still should tell Blade, shouldn’t he? No. He’s not going to. Oh, wait. Yes he is. He’ll do it. Definitely. Tomorrow. Oh, what’s the point. He can’t. He’ll lose him. He should just leave. But...but...but... OMG that was so annoying and frustrating. Because it was the whole reason for the angst and it was 3/4 of the book..and it was just stupid, IMO.

I really hate MC’s together who clearly have trust issues and such a precarious relationship that they don’t talk to each other because they don’t feel secure enough in that relationship to say anything, which would actually solve all their problems. I much prefer when they face issues together, prove they belong and aren’t just basing their relationship on looks and attraction, and that they actually have something deeper.

Not sure if I’ll check out the next one when it’s released. This was an ok read but didn’t reach levels of must-read series for me. YMMV.

I'll start by saying I'm a massive Sons of Anarchy fan, as in I still maintain it's the best TV show I've ever watched - the only thing I've watched more often is Friends and that's because it's been around since I was in school....

So, I'm always really sceptical on how a motorcycle club book is going to live up to my expectations, and most of the time I really, really end up hating them because they're so cliched it annoys me.

What genuinely surprised me was that I actually really enjoyed the opening book to the Hell's Ankhor series. Was it cliched? Absolutely. Was it as overly profound as the beloved Jax Teller? Why yes, it was indeed. But regardless, I liked it anyway and bonus points because it didn't hurt my tear ducts like the tv show did!

The plot was really predictable and you could see what was coming from a mile off, but I actually liked that because I've been feeling anxious and it's been nice to read some books where I can see exactly what's coming with no surprises, without having to reread old favourites.

I also liked the introduction to all of the characters, and the hierarchy of the club made sense as it's pretty much the same as SOA so it was familiar - also the characters are a lot tamer in this series than in Sons, I'd go as far as saying I could handle a lot more gruesomeness in all honesty!

Definitely recommend.

This was shockingly better than I expected. Anyone who has tried to find a decent M/M Biker read will feel my pain on the lack of even decent fare on the market. So I picked this up braced for another disappointment and a quick DNF. Not so fast! This book actually delivers on many aspects of what I'd like to read in the genre even if I had to immediately deduct a few points for a tired as hell, tropey plot.

The world of Hell's Ankhor has many similarities to Sons of Anarchy. The "charming" small town setting, a club with many legitimate businesses and good connections to the civilian population. Tight family and friendship bonds between the Brothers. The biggest difference is of course that many members are gay, bi or totally fine with having gay Brothers and that the club doesn't consider itself a criminal organization more than a haven for misfits of all kinds and creeds.
I was absolutely down for all of the club business and the relationship between the Brothers since that is what always keeps pulling me back to the genre. I just love me some brawny dudes being homoerotically devoted to each other :)

What I was not down for was the "I have a big secret and I'm not going to tell anyone until shit hits the fan spectacurlarly" storyline the authors had Logan follow stubbornly until I rolled my eyes at each of his chapters. Maybe I'm too old, maybe I have already consumed too much media in my life but if I never, ever encounter this particular trope again it will still be too soon.
The Romance and relationship between Logan and Blade plays out exactly like you would expect from the summary and the above mentioned plotline. It's worth a read but I hope the sequel is a little more imaginative about the plot.

4 stars because I flew through this and I really want to read the sequels immediately, which almost never happens to me.

I always start a new kindle book once I finish my old ones and I was planning on just reading the first couple chapters last night but I ended up reading more than 40%! For me, that is a sign of a book I'm likely to give more than 3 stars.

This wasn't a perfect book, which is why it's not 5 stars. The flip-flopping from Logan about what he wanted to tell Blade was a little annoying just because it lasted so long. There are probably people who will hate that a lot more than I did but I was able to look past it.

I liked the characters and the relationship. I haven't read any other MC romances I don't think so I don't really know how it compares but it's a type of romance I thought I might like and it seems like I was correct. This really just combined a lot of things I like in the genre and made it so there was still a plot I could be interested in while still focusing on the romance.

Like I said, I definitely want to read the next book in this series. The last chapter in this book left me super intrigued and I hope I like that one just as much or even more!

I enjoyed this book as it was a solid introduction into the world of the Hell's Ankhor MC.

Although the MC isn't into 100% legal activities, I liked their modus operandi and enjoyed how they handled themselves. All the characters introduced were interesting enough to want to know more about and the action with the rival club was well handled.

Blade and Logan's romance had a contentious beginning which I totally got because of Logan's past. I also enjoyed how that played out and how they ended up together.

There surely is more than meets the eye with Logan's brother Rebel and I'm sure more will be revealed in the subsequent books.

I've been seeing this book for months and I never end up picking it up. Today I decided to just to say I read it. Wow! I'm glad I did and I'm kicking myself for waiting months. I do have to say I'm hooked.

I kept going back and forth on whether or not I hated or liked Logan. Whenever he said he was going to say something I liked him and then when he didn't I hated him. Like OPEN YOUR MOUTH!!! I hated his inner dialog, because it was repetitive, but I like this story.

Blade, I really did like him. I like the whole club and I'm invested now. Good thing it's a rainy Saturday.

solid start, was waiting for the main issue to arise sooner than it did, but i liked how it played out more than what i thought was going to happen.

but honestly the audiobook for this SUCKED! the narrator wasn't good and repeated words and took really long breaks in between which took me out of the story..

I am excited to read about Raven and Gunner though and i saw that it is a new narrator, so we have that going for us!

Honestly I’ve mostly skimmed this book. After I skimmed the 2nd sex scenes I figured there is no reason to continue if those can’t even hold my attention.

I honestly can’t say what my issues is other than maybe everything kind of drug and there was no real plot behind all the conversation...

Not bad for the first in a series. Not nearly as raw as some that I've read. That could improve. The wishy washy woo woo factor kicked in once our men had sex. All of a sudden they are both using big words completely out of character. I guess love makes you smarter. Hah! I couldn't resist. I'll try a couple more, see how it goes.

Safety info, content warnings and tropes down below.

While some of this book was enjoyable, it sadly suffered from a lot of characters being about as sharp as marbles. So many of their choices pissed me off because they didn’t make any sense. Even in fiction with a generally unrealistic plot, I need the characters to make realistic choices for whatever situation they’re in.

It also got on my nerves how holier-than-thou Blade acts, repeatedly talking about how he and his club are so different from the other clubs, yet he murders people without blinking and treats non-club members like they’re beneath him.

What’s worse than a slightly toxic morally gray man? A slightly toxic morally gray man who thinks he’s better than everyone else.

More minus points for the ‘epilogue ‘ (heavy on the sarcasm) being about a side character, just to set up the next book. Honey, that ain’t no epilogue.

Wow, great start to this new to me series!

Blade, President of the MC Hell’s Ankhor is intrigued by Logan the moment he walks into the club's bar. There's something to Logan that captures Blade right from the start and makes him want to protect Logan.
The chemistry between them is awesome! 😍
But Logan definitely has secrets.....

I greatly enjoyed this book and it could have been a five star read for me if there hadn't been Logan's repeatedly internal monologs and this "I need to tell him but now is not the right moment" plot twist.

I'll definitely continue reading this series.
Thanks Jessi for sharing your enthusiasm for this series, otherwise I wouldn't have read it now. 🤗

Such an incredible start to a new series!! I've been on the hunt for a MM/MC series for a bit now and all of the ones I've found seem a bit OTT and cheesy. The Hell's Ankhor MC was a bit on the softer side of MC's which I really enjoyed seeing for a change. Most, not all MC series I have read are all about degrading women and the harder side of things and this one was a bit of a change while still incorporating the lovely bits of murder and mayhem.

Blade and Logan were perfect together. They both had their dark pasts and while Logan was trying to run from his Blade had accepted his because it made him into the person he is today. Blade helped Logan realize that your past not define who you are but can help you become the person you want to be. Logan was able to find the place he wanted to be which ended up being exactly the opposite of what he thought he wanted. Book two we get Gunner's story and I have a feeling that this series is just going to get better and better!!

This was okay... but you have to ignore a few plot holes .

Two things were very obvious, .

Logan being adamant about not wanting to be involved with club but being upset that Blade wasn't telling him about the club issues that had him upset was annoying.

And do you wanna know what really isn't sexy? Observing someone is bloodied and their hands bashed up, but then sucking on those fingers a few minutes later. Dude busted up a meth head... maybe don't suck on the fingers that have blood (and probably not just Blade's blood) on them.

I think it's also ridiculous to make a point of having the climb be proud of having a lot of legitimate businesses and not dealing with hard drugs.... but then committing murder in cold blood.

The scene breaks were often at weird times... like in the middle of the same scene. And the POV would sometimes switch in the same scene, or cover the same even from a different POV.

I just skimmed over the last few chapters, and while the last chapter, told from Raven's POV, pique my interest a bit, I'll be bowing out of this series here.

This is the cheesiest most babby motorcycle club ever, I cannot even read it. The president of the club is concerned that he will be looked down on by other clubs for having one night stands. It's said several times!

If I gained a reputation for sleeping around, it would look like I wasn’t taking my role seriously, and it’d only prove to my dissenters that I wasn’t ready for the responsibility of the presidency.

No one cares! These are drug dealing murdering illegal-everything-doing people!! You stocking craft beer at your dumb little bar is meaningless! oh my god

This was a softer and sweeter story compared to the MC books I’m used to reading. Logan is trying to make good decisions concerning his future but he keeps making a big mistake by keeping quiet about things that involved Blade and his club. His back and forth was extremely annoying and lasted too long. Blade on the other hand was perfect, as both a friend and lover. His commitment to his club and brothers made him my favorite character. The rest of the crew had interesting introductions and I’m looking forward to reading Gunnar’s story.

I LOVE MC books, I really do. But this one had way too much internal dialogue for me. I skimmed through a lot of this book. I was very interested in these main characters, and some of the side ones - especially Rebel/Luke - but too much internal dialogue will stop me from reading more.
