The Ballers may have the upper hand at RHS.

I underestimated them, their cruelty, their ability to look the other way when something hits them over the head, but camp is a whole other story. Their asses are mine.

I've rated this 3 stars when really it should probably be 4. Let me try and justify that;
First off I rated Game On 4 stars when it probably should have been 5. But I'm going to stick with my gut.

Second it went in a direction was wasn't rooting for. That's kinda unfair when the writing was just as brilliant and absorbing. I was really frustrated a lot of the time and it was slower than book 1 too. Not as much happened.

This series is a new experience for me in RH.
For the first time ever

I don't want the MC to have a harem.

Yes I just said that.
I love this girl so much that I really think she's too good for these ass-holes. There is only one I actually want her to end up with so that's a new one for me. I just don't like them, and they did nothing to redeem themselves.
Nothing.

The revenge was a non starter. Tessa prefers to keep her victory on the court when really, all I wanted her to do was destroy them.

I can't even mention the one beginning with an "L" without wanting to break something.

That ending though wow. The first thing that actually happened in the book and it was a cliffhanger. I will be reading on for sure. Even though I stand by my hate of the harem I can't not go on.
It was really well written and not your average Bullymance, absolutely recommend it. Its my own desire for it to have been different that made me rate it lower.

Holy Fucking Hell!

Ok, where to start? I guess let's start with this. Y'all know I LOVED Game On. Like it's been my favorite book this year. So I'm not going to lie, as much as I was anticipating this release, I was also scared to death of it. I had such high hopes for this book that I was scared I was going to be let down. Had I built it up so much in my head that E.M. could never live up to it? I already had in my head what I just knew was going to happen. So if I started reading and that's what happened would I be disappointed that I saw it coming? Finally the wait is over and Holy. Fucking. Hell. It was just as epic as the first book.

Tessa to me was fierce in book one and in book two, she's even more badass. She let her guard down once and she got burned, she's not going to make that mistake again. She is determined to show these boys what they lost out on. To earn her way back into the game. To show The Ballers that she is not weak.

The boys, well first let's just take a second to recognize all the fucking gloriousness that is Hayes Iceman Irving. Be still my heart. When he opens his mouth and speaks, swoon!!!
When I kiss you for the first time, it's going to change me
I fucking love him. He was my favorite at the end of book one and he's still my favorite now.

I guess we can give some of the others boys some love too. Tessa takes them through the trenches. They deserve every single bit of it. We do start to learn more about each of them though and I don't hate them anymore.

All except for Lake. I still hate that fucker with a passion that is beyond anything I can even express with words. E.M. even had me for just a minute. I thought, damnit I'm going to have to feel sorry for this piece of trash and maybe even like him when she's done. Nope, not even a little. I want to run him over with a fucking bus. I big one.

Ok I digress. So this book picks up at camp. This evens the playing field a little b/c The Ballers aren't king of anything there. Everyone is good. While Tessa starts to dish out her revenge, she finds she has an unexpected ally at camp with her as well. She can't let anything deter her from accomplishing her goal though. She has to be the best and show everyone she deserves to play at Rockport. But man do we ever have some distractions happening. Between coaches, her dad and The Ballers, she has a ton on her plate.

Now as I said before, I just knew in my head what was going to happen. Y'all know I spent a TON of time discussing book one with my girls. I bothered the crap out of E.M. with questions. I had it all figured out. WRONG! I could not have been more wrong. What I imagined was bad but this, this is so much worse. Once again I was left literally shaking at the end of the book.

Bravo E.M. on another absolutely fantastic book. I can not wait for book three.

Okay, first off E.M. you a phenomenal human being and your books hit my heart hard.

I had such high expectations before reading this book because of my abundant love for Game On. I was not a bit disappointed!!! This book didn’t leave a single box for me unchecked.

EXCEPT maybe a bit more steam with these smoking hot ballers. Because OMG, are you kidding me?? They are all so smoking hot that I’m jealous Tess gets them all to herself. Needless to say, they are all on my list but I am SO hooked on Ryan. I need more of him!

Tessa is such a strong person. What I love most about this series is that not only does she stand strong no matter what is thrown at her, but she doesn’t fight back with bullying. She takes things into her own hands and hits them where it hurts the most. The Court. She trains and becomes even stronger of an athlete and a person.

Last of all...LAKE. If I could dick punch him right now I would. I CAN NOT stand him!!! I had a moment of weakness where so started to understand him and feel a little sorry for him, but after that ending E.M. gave us, no way josé!

So be prepared for another EXPLOSION of an ending and jump on this book as soon as possible. You will not be disappointed!

This felt like a filler book between 1 and 3. It was still really good and several things got resolved quickly that I was worried were going to take forever. Also, F Lake. I can't wait to see how the team dynamic changes in book 3!

One good thing about being on annual leave from work is that I can get more reading done, normally I would be reading more than I have this week but I've been busy also binge-watching my Criminal Minds in order to catch up to the new season. So during this week, I am still sitting at a book a day. What it does mean though is I can catch up by clearing my devices as I have the time to browse longer. At the end of Book #1 in this series, we saw Tessa being left humiliated when the crowd chucked panties on the basketball court. At the start of Book #2, we read as Tessa is preparing for the one place where she can finally get some basketball practice in and the world of Rockport High's hierarchy isn't as important. We also read as her mother is seriously thinking of moving her to Spring Hill which is where the next series that E.M Moore has written is set. Tessa's dream though won't happen unless she stays at Rockport and she is more than determined. At Basketball camp, things are about to get heated as the Lacrosse team which includes Chase are also staying at the camp and getting their practice in and to make matters worse not only does Tessa have to put up with Lake, but this year is his brother River's first year at camp too. Can Tessa prove to everyone that she belongs on the court and what happens when Lake's bullying antics go too far and could end sabotaging not only his basketball career but also Tessa's? Find out in Foul Line by E.M Moore - book #2 in the Ballers of Rockport High today.

Ugh...

Not even going to lie I'm so mad. I want Lake to pay and I want the next book now! I need the next book now. I did not see that coming and the end wrecked me. I literally have tears running down my face right now.

E.M you had me going there for a while. I really was starting to feel sorry for one individual and then torn as to how I could feel that way. Then he had to go and mess it up. I felt so close to Tessa in this heart wrenching book. She is such a strong FMC and deserves way more than she gets.

The guys have my head all over the place but I'm happy to see what happens with them in the 3rd book. Also I'm kinda excited to see how these living arrangements go! Ugh I want revenge so so bad and I have an idea on why Lake has so much hate in his heart but i'd love to know for sure. Ugh co!e on August 30th.

I thought I was mad at how book 1 ended. The first thing I did when I finished this book was yell at the friend who recommended this series, because WTF WAS THAT AT THE END?!

I waited a few days after finishing this book to post a review, because so many other things happened that I had feelings about while I read them, but I can’t discuss any of those, because what the junk Lake?!

It was a little bit better than the first one I guess. But still I think that the female lead is dumb for going back to the guys.
If it was Dawn’s book I think I would’ve enjoyed it more. She is the character that I want to read who doesn’t take anyone’s shit.

Game On introduced us to Tessa and the Ballers of Rockport High. Their relationships were contentious at times, and super hot at others. But they let her down and betrayed her trust. Now it is time for the annual summer basketball camp and Tessa has a new Motto "Bigger, Badder, Better." She isn't going to let Lake the Snake get to her and going to concentrate on winning on the court. That is all well and good until certain members of the Ballers decide to try to make right what they screwed up. I love how they finally begin to stand up for her against Lake. I love how the coaches, her dad included, are finally beginning to see what a poisonous creature Lake is and that the Ballers have finally had enough with his crap. E.M. Moore has created characters that get into your brain and do not want to leave. Though there is still a special level in hell for Lake, the rest of the Ballers have come a long way since Game On and it will be interesting to see if they continue that trend in the next book. I cannot wait for said next book and highly recommend this book to anyone who likes why choose books, bully romance books, or sports romances.

3.5 stars. For a tiny minuscule moment there I actually felt sorry for Lake. Hah Fudge him guy needs to pay. There is no helping that twatwaffle.

First book was the bullying, fake love stuff. This one was the make up redemption. Which wasn’t as good as the first. It feels like it went too easy as if the guys had only done pranks. It started off strong but then pretty much went holiday camp mode.

Hayes deserved to be forgiven, his words, actions and general possessive bodyguard thing. Nice to see more depth to him, his own insecurities and how much he cares.

Would’ve liked to see more of the sport side. The whole outside jealousy thing got a bit tedious, taking away some of the uniqueness from the first book. It’ll be interesting to see where the next part goes. Hopefully not Lake redemption because nope. Just nope.

This series is consuming me!! I am absolutely head over heels in love with Tessa and the Ballers. Well all except Lake. He can go and take a flying leap.

Tessa is back on her stomping grounds. She is bigger and badder. She really gives the guys what for, and does not bend an inch. They have a lot to make up for, and yeah she is not just letting them walk over her. So the question here is do the guys get back in her good graces? Did Lake have a good reason for being such a dirtbag? Does she forgive him? Will I ever forgive him?

My favorite out of the ballers, is most definitely Hayes. He is just what every guy should be. He is just so steady, and always watching out/over Tessa. He makes me swoon!!

I am left needing book three, like I really need to see what happens when the group goes back to Rockport HIgh. I am betting on Tessa, and i cant wait to see what she does next.

All. The. Stars.

EM Moore hit it out of the park again with book 2. No sophomore slump here. It still teeters on that line of high tension, that we experienced in book 1, without tipping it over into unbearable.

I love the characters, even the ones I hate are great characters. Every one of them pulls an emotion out of me. They are alive and breathing on the page.

I highly recommend this series.

Summer Camp Drama

This second book in the series finally gave up some answers. Although Tessa is still weak in my opinion and she gets on my nerves with her justification of all of the bad things the men in this book do! I hope the third book will show her a stronger women! I hope her justification of everything goes away! Sometimes people are bad just to be bad not because of other things going on in their lives!

Really liked this sequel, although I wished for more out of this book.

I liked Tessa and how strong she was in this book and how she didn't bow down to the 5 boys, or anyone else.

For some reason throughout this book, I started to see Lake in a new light. He is the one who hates Tessa out of the 5 ballers and shows it proudly. But I got a different vibe from him in this book, like there is more to that hate. I hope i'm right because I kind of want to see him get redeemed in the third book. Especially since we found out about his And i'm hoping we get to see Lake being redeemed.

I love the whole camp aspect of this book. Ive read a lot of books based in High School but never one with a whole booked based outside of the school setting, usually just a couple of chapters about their holidays within a book, so this made it all the more enjoyable to read.

The whole story flowed so well, I'm addicted to this series and I know book three will be even better.

I knew Hayes was going to slay my heart but I was not prepared for how far I was going to fall for him! He has officially made it to the top of my book boyfriends list and that is saying something in itself.
I feel myself coming around to Ryan more than I was in book one, he seems to be opening up more, I just hope this continues during Senior year. Alec and Sloan are still on my shit list and I really hope they do something big to get Tessa's trust back.

Fuck face O'Brien needs a good kick in the Jap's eye and to stand on a bed of nails. Yep thats all I can say when it comes to him.

Ok, so the last book was intense right? And I was pretty mad at the boys and their low down dirty antics. But this one was even more extra! First off, I never knew that camps like this existed, are these for real? But beyond that, Tessa’s keep on keeping on is outstanding to watch, it gives me hope when I feel like I can’t take any more. How does she just keep taking the hits and getting back up? I don’t know that I could have handled it.

In this one the boys start to see that she isn’t trying to take away from their game but to enhance it. It’s not pie guys, there’s enough for everyone! Man, if I had a nickel for every time I thought that in this book…..moving on. Her dad is some hotshot coach/retired pro player and that kinda gives her a bit of an edge in this camp. Especially with the other coaches. One goes a bit too far and makes a pass at her which I don’t think was necessarliy needed but whateves.

Now on to Lake. This guy is seriously unredeemable in my opinion. Not only does his hate know no bounds when it comes to Tessa but we never even find out WHY he hates her to begin with! It’s quite annoying and I really hate him. And the ENDING! OMG, I can’t believe he did that!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 (not 100% set on the rating might lower it once I think about more)

!!SPOILERS!!

I feel like very little actually happened in this book however, I did like it more than book one.

Hayes was the only guy who did any sort of grovelling even though he had the least to atone for from the last book. They all could have grovelled more, but at least Hayes made an effort.

Not a fan of the storyline with Ryan's mom and Tessa's dad, it's leaning towards them maybe becoming step siblings which just isn't needed. She's already trying to navigate how she can date all the guys without it looking super weird and now they're adding a potential step brother x step sister situation on top of that...Her and Ryan just seem to always take one step forward and then 3 steps back. Despite them actually opening up to each other this book, it still feels like their relationship is stuck in limbo.

I did not like that her mom was the other woman after everything she went through when she found out her husband was seeing Ryan's mom. It did not feel right to me. There was no point to that scene, it just made her mom look bad.

I liked that Dawn held the guys accountable and made sure Tessa didn't just forgive them too easily. She had more of a backbone this book than the first one but still gave in relatively early.

Gave the biggest eye roll when I read that Chase was also there. I'm sick of the Chase shit, it's boring. It was unnecessary and he was kinda creepy and weird at times because he used the fake situations to do things he actually wanted to do with her despite her friend zoning him.

The Jacquin storyline was just unnecessary and felt like its only purpose was so Alec could expose his secret, which could have been done a different way. He's also the only black person in the story and ends up trying to assault her. To make the only person of colour try to assault the FMC was definitely a choice...

I'm assuming he's black because she used the term "milk chocolate" to describe him, which was definitely an ick, but she never actually says he's black, so...

Also, why is every guy into her? Four of the ballers, Chase and Jacquin. She is not that special, sorry

I did not like the reasoning behind them breaking up with/dropping her. It felt stupid especially because she still got bullied by the "baller bitches" and also didn't play at all last season. The only thing it did was prevent Lake from directly messing with her but I feel like they could have prevented that even if they stayed with her.

I don't like that it took Lake purposely breaking her wrist (which could end her career) for them to have finally reached their breaking point with Lake. At least Hayes was done with Lake from the beginning of the book and clearly chose Tessa but the other guys were giving him way too much grace for my liking.

Overall, this book was better than the first one but there were still a lot of issues i had with the characters and the plot. Don't like how little effort the guys are putting in to win her. Hayes is definitely my favourite out of all the guys. If the other guys don't switch up the way they have been acting with Lake in the next book, I'm going to be mad.

I gave an additional star because the teeth grinding from the first book wasn't as bad in this one. There is a lot happening even though it was slow. I know, that sounds weird but the book covers her wanting revenge by training harder being better etc. then we have the lacrosse team turn up to add some interest, which then leads to the boys realizing they miss her, then the parent thing running alongside and also the coach thing becoming another thing!

Lets get this right, the author keeps us trapped in one place being the camp. She is the only woman there. It's odd because you would think there would be some support staff, cleaners, cooks etc that some of the males could grab onto? Anyhoo she is surrounded and it doesn't seem to bother her. She's used to it. What are the odds though that throughout the entire country fifteen Ballers are invited and over. A third come from the one school? Lake and his stupid brother River. And yes, that was an annoying name choice, it just makes the, even more stupid. I digress. So this Baller camp selects three of the best in every position and all three of the best positions come from the one school and one is fifteen over all the other talent. So that was unlikely but sets it up for the author that she can constantly have the two to one advantage during training, it's obvious that she is going to get hurt it just takes a while to get there.

Meanwhile besides the romance / soft sex thing the other Ballers have got going with her they are all hiding what this guy Lakes problem is. At first I loved how she made them fend for themselves when they broke down and needed a lift. I though way to go girl keep this up and you'll show them. But by the end she rescues them all from the bar and covers up Lakes issues. Those should have been outed so she wouldn't have been hurt by him. It was just s stupid of her to think he wouldn't do something reckless to jeopardize her future when he obviously didn't value it enough to protect himself.

She again, should have reported not only his Oxy issue but the fact they used an additional urine sample to cover up his drug testing. She was too trusting because all the Ballers knew but covered for him. Not only choosing him over her during the last book but in a way still doing it throughout this book.

All her sacrifices, training, determination thwarted by a selfish act. I'm very angry and that's why it's four stars because this author has ensured a very emotional read. The parents? Well they get schooled by their kids and that's fabulous!

There will be a GENERAL spoiler that I think most readers would have seen coming, but don't read if you don't want to know.

First of all, let me just say Hayes, Hayes, Hayes....Madam, Hayes. After book one, I wasn't quite sure who was falling into first place for me. Despite the guys' horrible rejection and bad bystander behavior, I was still hoping for Alec & Sloan. Now, don't get me wrong, I think they both find some redemption in Foul Line. But really, this book is Hayes time to shine.

Tessa goes into bball camp with one mentality: bring it as hard as possible and show the Ballers who the real MVP is. This means she has to play her hardest, train like a beast, and not let the Ballers get into her head and ruin her game. Honestly, I think she takes on this quest with amazing dedication and ferocity that makes her stand out as a leading lady.

From the first few hours at camp, Moore throws some extra obstacles in Tessa's way when she discovers that there are some unexpected visitors at the camp. Now, whether their presence will get under her skin or the Ballers is something I won't spoil.

One thing that I really liked about Tessa was that she was trying to keep the individuals in mind. While the Ballers made a poor decision as a group, they each have different "sins" attributed to their personal choices. Spoiler alert: she does forgive them all, aside from Lake, by the end of Foul Line. Now, I'm a little bit torn. Yes, it feels a little fast for me because what they took from her- her dignity, her reputation, her chance to play- were all things that were SO important to her. However, in reality, the guys give her an explanation (even if I don't love it) for why they made the choice to reject her, and Moore does give each of them the chance to really talk with Tessa, to help win both her and us back to seeing them as real romantic options and not just villains.

There are some really cute moments between her and the guys, and some little bits of steam to tease us and open some potential s*xy doors for book three.

Overall, I enjoyed Foul Line; really, I sped through it so quickly I couldn't believe the book had ended. Fair warning, the end is bittersweet. Although there's some resolution that will make readers excited, that will make us happy, there's a bit of a heartwrenching twist that is going to really amp up the drama and vengeance to come next.

Great continuation! Loved it!

I really enjoyed this one! Tessa is bound and determined to make a difference and change things their upcoming senior year and it all starts at camp. It's her dad's basketball camp and so she knows that the boys aren't the kings of the school and it is a more even playing field. She wants to prove her worth and to earn it and for it to be about basketball. She is ready to take it to the court and pretty much leave it there. I loved watching Tessa step up again, she is ready to take on the ballers and is hoping to figure out what is going on. I enjoyed watching the boys opening up to her, especially Hayes. I absolutely loved him and how he went about things in this one! Definitely one of my favorites. Hayes starts standing guard and stepping up, even while being quiet and not always saying much. I really loved when he stepped up and said sorry and didn't offer excuses for being wrong in not standing up and stopping what was happening to Tessa before. He knows and understands her lack of trust and is ready and willing to back it all up and prove it with his actions in order to earn it back. As things continue at camp and Tessa shows her strength and pushes back with the Ballers and doesn't just back down, things start to change with the others as well, except for Lake. They start coming back to Tessa and wanting to apologize and make up for what they did. Secrets start coming out as well and it does start changing things. I love how Tessa makes them work for it this time. She doesn't make it easy on them and while she still feels that connection with them, and that connection continues to build, she is cautious and worried about trusting them again. They need to earn it. I really enjoyed this one! We definitely get some more of the secrets and what has been happening behind the scenes with the Ballers and what has been influencing some of their decisions. There are still bullying elements in this story so it does have some of a darker element involved, especially with how much Lake hates her, but it is a more even playing field this time and things are changing. There are more relationships built/rebuilt in this one. I really enjoyed it and it definitely has a twist at the end and I need the next one desperately now! Can't wait to start it and see how it all turns out!
