Journalist Rena George, author of The Loveday Mysteries - a murder mystery series set in Cornwall - began her fiction career writing romances for the DC Thomson Pocket Novels. Her first novel, DANGER AT MELLIN COVE, set in 18th century Cornwall, is still one of her best sellers. The new sequel, MISTRESS OF MELLIN COVE is already climbing the rankings.
Praise for the Mellin Cove Series:
“DANGER AT MELLIN COVEgave me the same thrills I got when I first read Jamaica Inn. Terrific! It had me completely gripped and entranced. I thoroughly enjoyed it.” - E-Scape Press Author Judy Jarvie.
“A smashing read enjoyed every page, full of suspense, a good story well written, would recommend this book to my friends.” Amazon reader review
“A good story to settle down with after a long day of stress. It takes the reader to another time and place and reveals a slice of life from the point of view of Hedra who is a naïve, but spunky young woman. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. Even though she comes from wealth and position, she relates to the needs and circumstances of the hardworking people of Mellin Cove.” - Long and Short Reviews

* The new Loveday Ross novel will be published in December.
Rena was born in Scotland, but now lives with her husband in Yorkshire. She has three grown up children, and four grandchildren.
When not writing, or on research trips to Cornwall, she can be found walking on the cliff top, the beach, or around the local busy harbour.
DI Jack Drummond likes to do things his way, which does not always go down well with his boss, but he does get results. A killer is stalking the streets of Glasgow, targeting prostitutes and Jack is desperate to find him. When Jack comes across a young girl, Evie, working the streets he is keen to persuade her to go home but she soon reappears battered and bruised and Jack takes her into his own home. Unfortunately she runs away again and they soon find her body. Everybody but Jack is convinced she was a victim of the serial killer and he vows to find out the truth of what happened to her. I was gripped by this book and could not put it down.
I read a few of the previous mysteries of Rena George and was very curious to meet her new detective and as expected she, with her clever writing and story plotting, didn’t disappoint me.
