What readers are saying:
★★★★★ "The suspense is unending."
★★★★★ "One of the best series I've read! From the characters to the settings and captivating dialog, Mr. Hardin crafts each story in a fantastic pace that makes putting the book down very hard to do."
Jack Hardin currently lives in Arlington, TX, with his stunning wife and five kids. He grew up in an Army family and spent half his childhood living in Germany, traveling all over Europe prior to the fall of the Iron Curtain. At nine years old he walked through Checkpoint Charlie and into East Berlin just one year before the Berlin Wall came down. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, is proficient with bo staff and nunchucks, and has taught women's self-defense.
Those alone do not make him awesome, but it all sounds really cool.
You’ll find Jack’s books to be in the same vein as Wayne Stinnett, Dawn Lee McKenna, and Randy Wayne White. In other words...dig in...you’re about to be seriously entertained.
Jack is driven by grace, the bedrock of his Christian faith. Shoot him an email and let him know what you think of his books. Or to give him your opinion of the moon landing, or whether or not you think it's a sin to squeeze the toothpaste tube from the middle.

Books 1-4 in the Pine Island Coast Suspense Series form one larger story arc, with everything tied up in Book 4. Books 5+ will all be standalone installments.
Jack Hardin has a great style, he crafts unique characters, and creates places and locations that capture your attention and imagination. In the center of all this is Ellie, one very complex and tough individual. She can take down smugglers, arms dealers, and terrorists but somehow she manages to be just as interesting when she's sitting at Major's bar on Pine Island, having a cold libation on a sweltering afternoon. There's nothing quite like a Florida girl!
For real fans of Ellie, Jack throws us all a bone on the last page that you'll love. It's a promise of things to come that evokes both anticipation and dread. Well played, Jack!
While I liked this book, I didn't find it as good as the previous novels. Maybe it's just me and the Ellie O'Conner character is getting to be too pedestrian.
This one has her working with Homeland Security chasing after a terrorist bomber. A sub plot with Ellie's sister morphs into the rest of the story.
Actually this review is for the entire series book 1-6.
I enjoy series books most of all . The Ellie O'Conner series is well written, done with wonderful enthusiasm and last but not least touching suspense. I liked the fast read never ending story line with in the story to keep me reading. This is actually a can't put it down series. With the CIA beginning through the DEA and PI interest to our Homeland Security winding it up. Jack Hardin leads you from one cliff hanger to the next to where you think you know who dunnit to that smile on your face. Gotcha. Thank you for this great read.
Lonely Coast opens with a bus bombing in Tampa. Ellie O’Connor is now an agent with Homeland Security and is sent to Mexico in search of leads regarding the bomber. While she is gone, her sister Katie’s ex Carl shows up and when she rejects him, he severely beats her. Ellie returns stateside disappointed that their prey has eluded them, again. But the team receives a hard lead from an unexpected source, and they once again manage to overcome the threat. In the meantime, an old retired player might decide to return to the game.
What a great series! I can't get enough of this series! Speaking of, when will the next book be out?? There's still so much to find out, like where is Frank O'Connor and what was so important to take him from his daughters? Also, what's going to happen wit Major/ Ringo? And what about the boyfriend? The sister? Etc., etc., etc.!! Seriously, when?!!! Can you tell how much I love this series?!! Bonnie
I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and look forward to the next chapter. As regards the cat, l like both cats and dogs. But that evil feline needed to expire the drone was a nice touch. Me , l would have put a .177 pellet in its brain, earlier in the story. Citrus is now free to use the canal. -30-
This series has a heroine that is terrific. She's tough, smart, and pretty. Jack has done himself proud with these books. Went thru all 6 in a very short time. He made Ellie seem real and fun and you will enjoy her (plus she loves to fish). Can't wait for more and he can't write fast enough for me. Jack has a clever mind.
Once again a very great story even if the car but the dust I'm sure that allies Jack Russell felt relieved lots of plots and sub p!it's looking forwArd to the next Ellie book vial from costs rica
I have read all of Ellie O'Connor 's suspense series up to this one and thoroughly sheesh one. This one a couple of surprises in just as the others which makes this series all the more enjoyable. Looking forward to the next one.
I enjoyed this series. I lived in North Fort Myers so I loved everything about the setting. I fell in love with the guys! I really appreciate a honest to good mystery with lots of action.
Enjoyable plot lines and substories. Great characters both good and bad. Loved the settings and the relationship with the actions of the people. Believable
Good storyline and loved the characters. One problem....to many typos, making the typos distract from the good read. Recommend reading it but overlook the typos.
Love the story! Love the location and the characters! The evolution of Ellie's career is intriguing as are the individual storylines. Can't wait for the next one!
The Ellie O'Conner novels have been great reads especially in the cold rain in the foothills of East Tennessee in March. I hope more books follow! Soon please😁
