A strange book that has a mishmash of various sci-fi subgenres. The book is almost like a homage but it works because of the unusual premise. The MC is a designer of combat suits (called battlesuits in the book) and he goes through the history of the world, designing battlesuits based on the past technologies of the world. There's a distinct lack of action in this book, and the author sometimes goes too far explaining the various sciences, but it is an intriguing and interesting read.

An interesting, and strange book that I liked quite a lot. The book is set in a world where Steampunk and Clockwork technologies exists, but had been overtaken by newer technologies like Rocket Science and space travel. The MC is a character that specialized in such 'old' technologies and make them usable in modern times. I have never read a book with such a premise so to say that it's different is an understatement. Very good world building, and an excellent book!
