Really good! I loved Tony and Bailey! They had off the charts chemistry, banter, yummy tension and I was shipping them hard as a couple, lol. I also loved seeing the rest of the Deadly Seven, always an interestin family reunion :)
The Syndicate is still a huge catastrophe waiting to happen but it definitely kept the adrenaline pumping!
Full Review I'm all over the place with excitement after reading Gluttony.
First of all, I loved Bailey and Tony <3 I knew there was going to be some tension and pushing away since Tony left a bad first impression with Bailey when they first meet in Sloath (Book 4) but it was fun and kept me on my toes around these two until they finally clear the so-thick-you-can-cut-it-with-a-knife tension between them.
Tony was a beautiful contradiction and I loved each layer of his complex character. Bailey was such a powerful female lead, she might not have the power of the DS but she can definitely hold her own. She's ex-CIA so yeah, a total save's her own butt type of heroine :)
This latest installment is just as packed with sinister plots and danger involving the crazed Syndicate as the others in the series (seriously this latest monster gave me the heebie-jeebies!) But we also get more of Daisy - who lets face it has me more and more convinced that there is still hope for her yet. Her inner struggle is heart breaking and I need her to feel something other than despair, loneliness and isolation. She is quickly becoming my favorite character! On a side note: A slow painful death for Julius would be too nice. This guy is a total villian and I can't wait for the Deadly Seven Karma to pay him a long overdue visit.
Even though the on-going plot is quickly picking up steam, Gluttony also had a lot of sweet banter between Bailey and Tony *fans self* and also between Tony and Liza (who I'm also dying to read more about!) We also get to see Sloan all happy and glowing with Max, preggars Misha and the rest of the gang. Parker and his sexy man bun also get more page time. Basically there's a lot of sweet, funny, blushing interactions between the siblings and their mates in this one and I'm fan-girling over all of them.
I freakin love this series and can't wait for the next one. Highly recommend reading this and the rest of the series!
*I received an ARC copy and voluntary read and reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I finished this one within a few hours of starting it and now I have to wait (im)patiently for the next one! 😶
Tony has finally gotten his own book and I'm so relieved that things have finally turned around for him! Though he has managed to get past his addiction there is still the emptiness that gnaws away at him. And it doesn't help that most people, including his family, don't see beyond the carefree mask that he puts up. When a stalker starts targeting him, he gets a new bodyguard who is also his mate! Too bad that Bailey Haze doesn't seem to care about his appeal or flirtations. In fact, she doesn't want anything do with him! Or does she?
Tony was a hoot in this one and I loved getting to know the man beneath the carefree mask! It really irritated me at first when noone seemed to even expect much from him. It's like they were just setting him up to fail, but I guess I can understand that after all the time that he's spent pretending to not care, they just don't want to be disappointed again!
"No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't stop them from cutting him. The sad thing was, she'd been right. He knew nothing. He was a smile on a face and a dick on legs. A monkey who danced to someone else's beat."
But, I'm so glad that Tony got a chance to show himself in this one! The character development was amazing and so was his relationship with Bailey! I loved how they brought out the best in each other! At the beginning they didn't have much beyond their attraction to each other, but slowly a relationship based on trust and mutual admiration began to develop! Bailey doesn't really like Tony at first and doesn't expect much from him just like everyone else. But, slowly as Tony sheds his layers she sees him for the man he really is.
She slid her arm over his front, hooked her leg over his, pressed her lips onto his hot neck, right beneath his ear, and whispered, "I see you Tony Lazarus. I see the real you, and I'm not going anywhere."
And I loved those scenes with the kids at the sobriety house! Also, it was great that there wasn't too much drama or angst about the Deadly Seven identity thing with Bailey. She quickly figures it out and helps Tony gain control of his powers! Plus, on top of everything we've got a mutant killer plant on the loose and the Syndicate coming up with more disgusting plans! There's also Despair, the lost Lazarus sibling, who is slowly beginning to question the motivations of the Syndicate, but is also unsure of leaving them!
As always I loved the familial relationships of the Lazarus brood! They're quick to judge and annoy each other at times, but they're also unfailingly loyal and always there for each other!
"You realize what this means, don't you?" "What?" "You're an actual star."
Liza's book is next and we already know who is her mate after reading Gluttony, so I'm super excited for this! I can't wait to see how her mate might be the embodiment of the opposite of her sin(which is lust) and how the author takes it from there!
You can also find my reviews for the previous books in the series here : Envy Greed Sloth * An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review *
This is the fifth book and unfortunately it didn’t work as well as the others I’ve read so far in the series. And I had high expectations. That doesn’t mean I’m not glad I read it and it’s not an integral book in the series. With book series there’s always going to be one that’s a bit of a let down.
Tony is the actor, the playboy of the deadly 7. His sin is gluttony and he is affected by it. One of the traits of the sins is whatever sin they deal with affects and both attracts and repels them. At the end of the previous book (I think) Tony goes into treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. It has played a role and it’s affecting his role as a superhero. He doesn’t feel worthy to be part of the team and putting it in laymen’s terms, he’s suffering from low self esteem. Then he meets Bailey and things go real haywire for him.
We met Bailey in the previous book. She’s a former CIA operative and now works for The security company that Max has founded. Max is the hero of the previous book and Sloan’s mate. Tony knows immediately that Bailey is his mate. When a member of the Deadly 8 meets their match, they produce hidden powers they didn’t know they had. Tony’s new ability is his veins turn blue and he shoots out uncontrollable gamma rays.
I didn’t care for Max as much as previous characters. He comes across as a bit self pitying and cocky at the same time. And Bailey comes across as cold and rather self controlled.
Another thing different about the number of different POV’s we get, from the evil villain, the bumbling scientist to the terrifying plant monster that walks around. I didn’t really get Tony’s superpowers. I mean shooting gamma rays??. But then I realized that this is a paranormal so of course there are going to be unexplained things.
But the book got better towards the end, tense and suspenseful. Of course the evening was getting later and later and once more I was too engrossed in the book to try and sleep. Good thing I’m retired!
But this is a book I recommend if you are engrossed in the series. It’s needed.
Tony’s excess landed him in hot water-personally and professionally. It was his struggles to stay afloat that I found admirable and made me more empathetic to him.
Bailey...she was a class by herself! I loved her. She was funny, snarky, and just easy to like. She also fought demons like Tony, giving her personal insight into his battles.
Gluttony was a wickedly fun, yet emotional read. I loved getting a glimpse of the Deadly Seven. The action sequences were also very well done! But the romance. It was a long time coming and I was thrilled with the end results!
I first started reading this author when I read “Sloth” and immediate fell in love with this crazy family. They are flawed, very alpha, with savior complexes a mile wide but they are a functional dysfunctional family that once you are part of them you are theirs forever.
To everyone Tony Lazarus seems to have it all, good looks, fame, easy women, money and a supportive family. They don’t see the insecurities that plague him that maybe he’s really not good enough to be a part of the Deadly Sins. He used whatever means alcohol, drugs, women anything that would help him silence that inner pain. Now that he is facing his demons, he finds himself the target of a stalker. Since the world doesn’t know of his super powers he has to have a bodyguard for appearance sake.
Of course the one woman that made him start really looking at himself ends up being the one to guard him Bailey. Unfortunately for him Bailey things he’s lower that a slugs belly and has no respect for him. For the first time Tony has to actually work at getting a woman to like him and he’s out of his element. Faith must also have a warped sense of humor because as it turns out Bailey is his life-mate.
Bailey is a strong woman and is capable of taking care of herself and her clients. She has demons of her own that she’s trying to stuff back in the bottle while trying to deal with Tony’s secrets and find out who the stalker is.
This author’s characters while on the surface may appear shallow as you dig deeper you find out there is a lot more going on besides their super powers. They are usually dealing with real world problems like PTSD, addiction and depression. I also love that she lets her female characters take charge of their own sexuality. There is no name-calling or derogatory words that her female characters call themselves if they are aroused by their men, I love when an author empowers her female characters like that.
There is snark, some over the top behavior, a few mad scientist moments, family drama, family love, lots of steam and the reality of struggling with an addiction everyday.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lana Pecherczyk is an exceptional writer, this book could be in a lot of genres from fantasy, action, adventure, drama & romance. It has all the adventure, action and drama of The Defenders series with the strong heart of what keeps families sticking together and Tony definitely needs to feel the best of that heart with the comfort and unity to get through this next part of the fight he is currently dealing with. I had built this picture of Tony over the series, none of it good ! In my minds eye, he was overweight with puffy red cheeks & signs of an non-caring alcoholic, even if he came from the Lazarus family 😂. Boy how wrong was I ! another Adonis (swoon!) appeared ( is should have known better) however I should stop drooling and continue with the review. Tony finds his mate Bailey as she is assigned to be his bodyguard as a stalker begins to take over his life. Bailey is bad ass, harbouring many secrets of her own. She needs her body to be a temple, free to live without many restrictions plus the grief and guilt of her old life as a child and CIA agent. She locks away her feminine emotions, until the immediate attraction to a drunk, egotistical actor who seems to care for nobody but himself threatens everything. Tony has given up on his family life as they seem to drop him from anything to do with the Deadly Seven. This storyline is about the fight Tony & Bailey have from each other, family acceptance, Tonys new deadly power and from finding the real man under all that actors life & bonus ! A stalker alongside it all, including another deadly escapee from the Syndicate’s clutches. This time it targets anything living its uncontrollable, wild, building its consciousness as it kills. With Daisy making more appearances the family begin to hope. Learning through Evan’s visions what is in store for Daisy & other family members, this is battle they need to step up to convince her to re-join them with an army at their back.. i will say there was a big choke holding moment for me about 87% through the book..I can’t wait for the next book in this series it’s one the best ones I’ve read.
Once thing i have been noticing but with this book it was clearer is that this series isn't the greatest when you're binging it. In every book it capitulates certain events or history so it becomes tiresome if you're reading the books back to back. Tony was a very elusive character until now. I didn't saw or knew much of him in previous books besides him helping Sloan. Other than that he was always not there or drunk but Tony was so much more than that. He lived like one of his characters because of assumptions and how he felt. Knowing him was heartwarming. I really loved him. He also sang Halo by Beyonce so i could i not love the man? 🫠 Bailey is a bada$$ ex CIA working as Tony's bodyguard. I loved that aspect but it took me some time to warm up to her and their relationship and i don't really know why. I liked that she was smart too and discovered fairly quickly who the Deadly Seven were without no one telling her.
Daisy is coming around little by little. It's just sad everything she went through and what her father is doing to her but like Tony said , her helping the Deadly Seven doesn't mean she's forgiven. I agree. It's an uphill battle going forward but i'm hopeful but most of all everyone wants Daisy back in the family no matter what and i love that despite everything she did, they still want her.
Liza aka Lust seemed a bit dumb to me when she interacted with Joe. Why you ask? Because they all know that their other half, their mate, has no sin in them so since Liza is Lust and she never felt the sin in Joe since they were in school it seems glaring obvious who he is to her. She even pointed that very fact out so why didn't she arrived to this conclusion yet? I really hope she has a 'come to Jesus' moment right at the beginning of her book.
Tony is a movie star along with being Gluttony, one of the Deadly Seven. When he ends up with a stalker, the movie studio insists that he gets a bodyguard. Of course, Tony doesn’t need a bodyguard, but he can’t tell them that. So he hires Bailey, who works with Max, to be his bodyguard. She also happens to be his mate and the one person that can balance his sin of Gluttony.
Meanwhile a plant monster that was created by the Syndicate has escaped and is heading toward the city. Daisy, Tony’s sister Despair, is after it and when she encounters Tony and Bailey insists on them helping her to kill it.
I really liked this story. I loved Tony and getting to see what’s going on with Despair. And I really liked Bailey too. She was perfect for Tony; and since she used to be in the CIA, she could not only take care of herself, but be there for him too. This is a must read for fans of the Deadly Seven. It will definitely leave you not wanting to wait for the next book in the series.
I was given an ARC of this book, but am voluntarily giving my honest review.
This was my most anticipated book of February and I am happy to say that it exceeded my expectations. I absolutely love these characters and their stories. This series is going so well. I can't wait to read more... Tony is an actor, he has learned to hide his true self very well. Even his family doesn't know him as well as they think they do. Right now he is in trouble. He might have a stalker problem, he also recently found out about his powers and things are definitely not going his way. How is he going to deal with everything and keep his sanity intact? Find out in this exciting installment of The Deadly Seven. And the best part is that all these books can be read as standalone. I think that this is a must-read for all readers. And if you happen to love super-heroes just as much as I do then you are going to enjoy this book even more. Happy reading!
The OW/OM drama towards the end really annoyed me. I felt like we could have done without that. The romance between Bailey and Tony was alright. It wasn’t my favorite of the series, but it was well written. I loved all the chapters with Despair. She is a really anti-hero and I’m excited to see what the author does with her. Lust is up next and I’m hoping there is no cheating since Joe, Liza’s mate, is in a committed relationship. I guess we’ll see🤷🏻♀️
A Perfect Blend of Action and Sin! “Gluttony” is the fifth book in “The Deadly Seven” Series and is Tony’s story. Lana has done it again with Gluttony. The thrills, chills, and action takes your breath away when added to this amazingly exciting storyline that has Tony detoxing and no longer living his sin. Gluttony shows another dimension to the Deadly Seven as Tony deals with a stalker, overzealous women, his true mate and a failed experiment from the syndicate. All in a day’s work for the Deadly Seven. Gluttony is the perfect blend of drama, action, and suspense mixed in with Tony’s brand of humor, his imperfections, and fears. Gluttony may just be my second favorite yet and I highly recommend this series. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily
I hadn’t read the other books to this series which I’m sad about especially if they are anything like this one I absolutely loved it and look at that cover isn’t it gorgeous?. I loved Bailey’s and Tony’s ( Gluttony ) story wow Bailey is a strong woman who can definitely kick butt if she needs to, at first I didn’t like Tony but he quickly changed my mind as the story went along. I loved the banter between these two all in all this was one hell of an amazing story and I can’t wait to see what comes out next and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
I'm warning you, fellow readers. After finishing Gluttony, the only thing you'll be dreaming of is Tony Lazarus. Lana did it again, gave us hot hunk with issues and who can resist that? Only someone interested in the other gender. But damn, then there's Bailey Haze. Holy smokes, those lingeries. Gluttony is full of struggling, hot vibes and action at its finest. What more do you want from a book? Oh yeah, love. They nailed that too. So, Tony's book has it all and I just fricking love it. ...and I'll promise, so will you when you read it. Lana is raising the bar with every book. High five with two hands!
Such a awesome series! I love it. And I never wanted to put book down. Each book could be read alone. But with events and certain people in each book. I would definitely start from the beginning. This book is just as intense as the others before it and the series isn't even done yet. In this book you really get to know the man behind the sin of Glottony. He may be a top notch actor. But he has a lot of baggage and scars of the past holding him down. His only day of light that would help him would be finding his other half (his mate). But his only problem would be proving himself worthy to his mate. Because he thinks he has zero changes...
This in depth look into Tony’s life is filled with edge of your seat action. This author unwrapped the main characters soul in layers, keeping the reader guessing as to whether or not he would succeed. But this book is more than just gluttony. Family members are endangered, as well as Daisy’s fate is still questionable. Each book is a stand-alone, but reading even one will still lead to having to read the rest happily. An easy recommend. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
This is the fifth book and they keep getting better! Tony is a good guy but he doesn’t really know it. He needs Bailey as they bring out the best in each other. She has issues at first but then when she and Tony get together it was sweet and wonderful! The characters were developed and and pull you into the story’s! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This book was AMAZING! Loved Bailey and Tony's electricity together! This was the first book I have ever read in the series...now I have to go back to the beginning to read more! Wow! Highly recommended to readers who love romance, action, and lots of drama.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Every series needs a bad boy who's not really a bad boy. Tony has all the feels of a movie star struggling with his life until he meets his fated mate, Bailey. The struggles get worse as Gluttony and Bailey fight the Syndicate and a deadly plant monster. But through it all The Deadly Seven are by their sides fighting for what's important, family. Another amazing installment in the series.
This is the 5th book in the series. Tony was a sweetheart and didn't know his worth. Bailey had her own issues to go through. I loved how they finally came together. Lots of action. I have even been able to get my husband to read this series and he likes it as well. Can't wait for the next books.
Think about a character that I didn’t pay any attention to, but when I started to read his book I realized that Tony was more than the façade that he showed for everyone. I don’t need to say that every book by Lana’s is well written and is a good story every time, so moving to the story, here we saw how Tony managed (or better yet, didn’t manage at all) your sin- Gluttony. Trying to mask everything else, Tony uses and abuse of his sin to avoid everything else. Until he faces Bailey and realizes that his life is going down and spiralizing really fast. Bailey is an ex-CIA and never dreamed of falling for an addict like Tony. I liked to see how this relationship developed, and of course, this series is already one of my favorites so far.
Tony is a big time movie star in need of a body guard. Bailey is sent by her boss, Tony’s brother in law. Can they keep each other safe from the Syndicate?
Tony and Bailey both had old demons lurking in their past which made it hard to trust each other. They kept secrets and found fault in the other. It was interesting to see how they moved past those things and learned to trust.
I enjoy the overarching theme of the family fighting sin and trying to take down the Syndicate. We are given glimpses into what is going to happen and I am hyped for the next book.
It’s so nice when you find something you really like again. I’m happily buzzing as I have come across Lana Pecherczuk and her writing.
If you are a fan of series like Gena Showalter - Lords of the Underworld, Kresley Cole - Immortals after dark, Larissa Ione - Demonica, J.R. Ward - The Black Dagger Brotherhood - then this is definitely a must series to dive in next. And that’s what I’m doing and suggest everyone to do as well.
Gluttony seemed on a completely different vibe than the rest of the books. To be honest I had no big hopes for Tony, even his name resembles his sin differently than others. The other half of the word is similar to his name, other siblings names comes from the first par. That’s just my weird thinking, want to pick him apart. I thought it will be about his struggles with addictions but he was struggling about him self, second guessing himself and not trusting. I kinda felt sorry for him how doubtful he is about himself and sometimes it annoyed me how much he run away of every single thing in his way. He was not as grand as his siblings, he doubted himself till the end, I couldn’t see the change or the equality with others. I was expecting more, but stuck on the pitting part. To be honest no idea how Bailey saw the true him and how did they fall in love (hehe). He just keeps running away and not showing his true self not to her not to himself. It was actually not that straight forward -to understand him and what he actually wants.
Still a great read. Daisy was a very big part of this book and the villains were in the background while the sad, unwanted experiment monster took their place. Can’t escape the fact that it’s part of Daisies doing, she let the monster free, she wants to be free as well. Still, not there jet.
Can’t wait for the next book.

The opening might throw off readers for a moment. It's Tony in his movie character. Aside from that distraction - this book is perfect.
Tony has long been so charismatic he has been impossible to not love, and so broken, impossible to love. You want to eat all of him, yet doing so leaves you feeling so full you hate yourself. A constant situation Tony lives in - surrounded by celebrity excess, both loving and hating it and himself.
Then a threat emerges against his secret identity and the studio insists he gets a bodyguard. Overkill for the superhero, but necessary if he wants to continue the acting he loves so much. Bailey Haze isn't just any bodyguard though; the ex-fed comes with her own problems, many related to dealing with addicts. But his opposite number - Abstinence to his Gluttony, makes Tony's genetic programming draw them together.
In the background is the stalker, the Syndicate, and ... a mobile sentient plant?
Oh joy!!! Ms. Pecherczyk goes all in with the Superhero Romance Genre with a purely absurd villain of the story. .... Only the plant as absurd as Toad in the X-Man movie (hopping and killing people, freaked me out after seeing him usually portrayed as a loser in the comics) and Gorilla Grodd when he is influencing Gorilla City (trust me, the mind control aspect are chilling when written right).
Each encounter with the plant just gets better and better. This whole story is Superhero Romance at its best!
This series is wrecking me, it’s so so good. Love everything about it, about these Lazarus brothers and sisters, they’re just out of this world, they’re so different and all have their issues - growing up with so many expectations and going through life with their duty is not easy. I think I highlighted most of the book 😅
Tony, my sweet Tony, since the beginning we could see that he’s plagued by his sin, he fell into a destructive spiral and he’s now trying to get out of it and heal. Addiction is the worst, especially combined with gluttony - none of his family members trusts him anymore, he became a liability, never present when it counts. But his meeting with Bailey, an ex-CIA agent and his new bodyguard will put him in the right place, there is something with her that just attracts him, her being his mate is even better.
Since Max’s accident, Bailey has doubts regarding the Lazarus family, and now she has to babysit the movie star - but then she’s the first to see that Tony is different from the persona he shows, she wants to know more about him but at the same time she’s afraid he will be her downfall. Between movie set and premiere, they should not forget the Syndicate which set wild another monstrosity in the city.
I just want more and more of this series, next stop is Liza then Parker, I can’t wait to see him fall 😂
Addiction comes in many forms as our hero knows and fights against every day. Maybe our heroine can help him win the battle once and for all.
This is book five in the series and it works pretty well as a standalone. I did miss out on a lot of the previous family dynamics, but I had no problems keeping up with the main storyline. That being said, I look forward to going back and filling in the gaps.
This is a paranormal action story with a slow burn romance and lots of action. The story has a strong superhero/mutant vibe to it, which is rather intriguing. The story is well written and easy to read with lots of action that keeps the story moving. Both the characters and setting are well developed with lots of details that bring the scenes to life and help pull the reader into the story. I really enjoyed our hero and heroine and how their relationship evolved over time. Overall, it was a very fun read and I look forward to future installments.
Highly recommended.

When the director called ‘Cut/Wrap’ Tony ‘Gluttony’ Lazarus smoothly refused offers of sex and drink as he hurried to his trailer with his co-stars and director on his heels. Everyone’s shocked to see bloody dolls of the cast hanging from the ceiling. The director calls to order a bodyguard for Tony, he refuses knowing he has to protect his family, The Seven,
Tony orders a bodyguard from the family security company. Baily Haze pulls the duty much to Tony’s chagrin. The sassy dynamo’s derisive comments a few months ago had Tony speeding to rehab. Tony’s out of sorts when proximity to Bailey turns him into a blue sun, emitting gamma rays from his body, he knows it’s the mating bond but trust her!
Both Bailey and Tony change their opinions of each other when he stops at her volunteer task to talk and they realize his stalker is real! Meanwhile, Syndicate head, Julius Allcott may have found the secret he’s looking for as enforcer; Falcon/Daisy has used her power and loosed a possibly unstoppable enemy as Allcott notices he’s losing control over her. Rating: 4.25stars
Fitting with the title, this book was a feast of excess. Tony has fallen out of balance, soaking in his sin, hiding within his addictions. It takes the spark of his mate to pull him out, clean him up, and share the love that will keep him balanced. The darkness in this book is rampant. Between the struggle of fighting addiction and feeling worthy of love, coming to terms with our bad choices and where they have led to, to the personality absorbing baddie, abandoning family and manipulation. It takes the love of two incredibly strong people, the realization of the deep love and acceptance of family to bring enough light and humor to keep the darkness at bay. I love how Lana Pecherczyk continues to break my heart and rebuild it within each book! Simply brilliant!
