The Cycling Podcast's second book lifts the curtain on life as as a journalist on the road at the 2018 and 2019 editions of the Giro d'Italia, Women's Tour, Tour de France and Vuelta a España.
In The Grand Tour Diaries, The Cycling Podcast team – Lionel Birnie, Orla Chennaoui, Daniel Friebe, Richard Moore and François Thomazeau – describe travelling thousands of kilometres, staying in a different hotel each night, and encountering a rich assortment of places, people and food.
And there's some cycling, too, illustrated by The Cycling Podcast's photographer, Simon Gill.
'An entertaining book that will have appeal beyond the existing listeners of The Cycling Podcast,' Road.cc on A Journey Through The Cycling Year
I'll admit this is probably one for the cycling fans, and fans of the Cycling Podcast, but it's a really wonderful book about the cycling grand tours of 2018/2019. Humourous, knowledgable, and compelling writing.
About 80 percent cycling, 20 percent travelogue. As a fan of the podcast, it was red meat for this red meat eater and it was nice to relive those races and thing about what is the same and what is different. RIP Richard Moore, he is missed!
