Not Your Average Girl
your best friend asks if you want to move from the East coast to the West after a bad break up how do you say no? You don’t, you pack up your stuff and head to the Golden state. Never expecting to run into one of the Los Angeles Angels most eligible bachelors, who is even better looking in person then he is in 4K. Everyone wants him. Including me, but I’m not that girl who throws herself at the front-page bad boy. He has better, easier options, so it should be easy to get him to move on to the next woman. But when he doesn’t. When he sets his sights on me, there is only so much a sane woman can resist before she agrees this can be for fun. We aren’t staying in LA forever and he isn’t offering forever. ’ve sworn off women and am focusing back on my career. The career I set on fire and almost destroyed being the Not so Angel Bad Boy. I hate the nick name and want nothing more than to get my life back on track. But after one night out with the guys and a tiny blond who turned me down. I may be off of all women…but her. Cute, fluffy, and funny. This was a really fun book to read, and I am not usually a huge fan of Rom-Coms.
This book follows Will or Willa, the “not your average girl” tom-boy, and Bentley, famous baseball player for the LA Angels. I was able to really connect with Willa in the sense that I grew up with all guy friends, and as a girl, you do get weird looks and questions when you have no girl friends.
This book does have a lot of baseball references and terms, so I was afraid it would be confusing for me(someone who doesn’t watch baseball) to understand what was happening, but I was still able to fully enjoy reading this despite my lack of knowledge on the sport.
I was actually surprised by how much I liked Bentley’s character. Based on the description of the book I thought he would have to do some serious work before I grew to like him, but that was far from the case. Not only did he like Will just the way she was, despite knowing her image could disrupt his, but he also was never shy about telling his teammates his feelings for her, despite the heckling from them.
This is a Rom-Com, so it wasn’t too spicy, but there were still some hot scenes. I will say, the one thing about this book that got me was how many freakin 'times the sentence “I’m not a normal girl” was said. Like I get it you're a tomboy. But honestly, that just made me laugh more than anything else.😂
I’m definitely excited to see what happens with Haley and Parker in book 2 (Not Your Average Road Trip), and hope the rest of the Angels get stories of their own. Overall this was a fun book to read and I look forward to reading more from this author soon.

Not Your Average Girl, by new and upcoming author Becca Jones, is a hilarious story about Willa (a fun-loving, “just one of the guys” woman) and Bentley (a pro baseball player who is trying to stop his partying ways). It follows the pair and their path to falling in love from coast to coast. And the trials and tribulations being with someone who is always in the spotlight - and not always shown in the best light.
There are lots of laughs between the two and their framily (friends who are family). I’d like to think they are the Friends of the literary world. You feel like you know each of them. Every character is well thought out and the reader gets attached emotionally to each of them.
The writing is well done and the banter between characters is very witty. Overall a very fun and pretty quick read. I enjoyed this book immensely - it flowed very smoothly. I can’t wait to see where these characters end up in future books.

I really tried. The title should have been enough warning to avoid this. Here is the plot- I'm not like other girls, I drink whiskey, I wear mens clothes, I have a man job, I'm only friends with boys, my mom wants me to be like other girls. I met a pro baseball player, he loves me for me, social media comments are mean, jersey chasers are awful, that's it, that's as far as I got.

A HOME RUN by Becca Jones!
I absolutely LOVED this book! Willa was a refreshing change for a female lead and it wasn’t hard to fall in love with Bentley right along side her! This book was funny, HOTT, heartwarming and was full of great characters. It was a fun read from start to finish and I really do hope the author turns this into a series so we can get to know some of the other players.

I laughed out loud. I wanted to jump into the pages of this book. I wanted to be friend w/ Willa and her frowned. And loved loved loved the chemistry between her and Bentley. I want more from the cavemen and her brothers.

Omg Becca knocks it out of the park (pun intended) with this one!! A baseball rom-com that had my laughing through the entire book! If you want a light read with a ton of fun, DEFINITELY check this out!!!

As someone who does not watch baseball but understand the basics of it..I still really loved this book.
⚠️⚠️Your funderwear may get alittle wet while reading but that's why you always have multiple pairs. A girl needs an assortment of cute funderwear to make sureself alittle extra sexy;)
Willa is a "one of the guys" type of girl who isn't into dressing to impress and riding off other people's success. She has bad relationships in the past and has some family secrets she has kept hidden***I won't spoil those its too good**
Bently is Mr Bad Boy Angel's pro baseball player whose known for his crazy night life and has his own issues to worth through because of his recklessness.
Willa (Will) is the 1 girl who said "not interested" and that drew him in. He's never had a problem leaving with a lady, but he had his instant attraction he couldn't explain. She wasn't the super model stick figure girls he was always seen with. Wills is beautiful and curvy and isn't afraid to eat or drink.
I love the chemistry that they have.
***but I will say her older 4 brothers (Irish Catholic tall, muscles 🥵) *** are 🔥 HOT! Give me a sexy irish ny cop anytime. I can't wait to hear more about them.
The ending ohmygod it was so cute.
From how they met, to their 1st office meeting, how he takes care of her *and her male bff*
The spice is 🥵🔥🔥.

Not Your Average Girl is book 1 in the Angels series and was such a fun read!! Obviously there was some drama on their road to happily ever after. But even so it was such a light read! I loved Willa and Bentley!! Especially Will she's amazing!! & Benny is 🥰🥰🥰.
I really loved the supporting characters too. Will's Best friend David... 4 overprotective brothers, her 2 girls... then Bentley's team mates and his brothers!! They're all freaking amazing!! 😄😄 Conner had me constantly laughing with the "Montgomery Hands!!" 🤣
I'm off to read book #2 & not quite sure what I'm going to do when I'm done with that one!!

This is my first book by this author. I don’t know how this isn’t on every reviewers page. This book has hot steamy scenes, has a sports trope, love at first hear, and the most different female character ever. Willa is a sexy little tomboy with male besties and Bently is a sexy baseball player. The story read like a fairytale and the happy ending was everything. The characters were all likeable and want to read their stories next,

I LOVED this book because not only it has spice but it also has an excellent plot. And when I tell you that I identify with Will ( she's the protagonist) and felt so call out because my personality is almost the same as hers. It was beautiful and funny. HIGHLY recommend to read specially if you feel that you're kinda a tomboy.

Loved this read, a cute, hilarious read that had me flicking pages from start to finish. Great banter, written beautifully and flows perfectly. A baseball romance, that will have you laughing out loud. More of a fluffy romance than spicey, but still brings the steam in some scenes.

This is such a cute story. It’s so relatable and honestly, I just love the writing and how the story flows from one point of view to another.
There are some triggers like fat shaming, bullying….and I think that’s why I find it so relatable.
Main female character is like a tomboy who loves to eat and wear pants. YES!!!
And she gets the hot guy!

This was such an enjoyable read for me! This is my first book by Becca Jones and I love her style of writing so far! The characters were so lovable! There was an emotional roller coaster of feelings I felt throughout this book. I loved the funny parts in the book like how Willa was supposed to be born a boy named William. lol. She's a great strong FMC.
Bentley of course has a bad rep before they meet which will cause problems throughout the book. He has to work hard to prove himself!
Willa's brothers were so funny, I loved them! I really cannot wait to start the next book!!

Good plot and characters
I gave this a 3.5 star rating but on here you can't do .5. But this book needs some editing. There was some grammer, word structuring, and cringey wording issues. But I loved the plot and the characters.

I had the most fun writing this book. Bentley and Willa came in like a wrecking ball. Where to start with this one. I absolutely love Willa. She is not your average girl. She has guys who are legit just her friends. I found her so relatable. Drawing from my own experiences with buffoons' for friends. The girl with all the guys because they were the most fun. Will is spunky and even though she is not thin and what she thinks gorgeous should be, she is confident. Now that she is out of a relationship that was making her feel bad about herself. Her best friend is a guy who would do anything for her...except curl her hair. David is a contention for Bentley, one he needs to learn to accept and embrace if he wants a chance with Willa. David who is the only "family" she has out on the West Coast. Considering they live together as they make their way across the country and back.
Bentley is one of the sexy men of the year, incredible athlete, reformed bad boy. The reputation still taints the new and improved image is he going for. He got caught up in the money and celebrity status. Trying to remember he gets paid to play a game he loves, he's set himself on the straight a narrow. Off women, booze, and bar fights. Until a tiny, curvy, blonde tells him to take a hike.
Bentley hasn't had to work to get a woman, ever. And Willa makes him work for it. She's not interested in his money, or his celebrity status. She wants a taco truck and dive bar. And she's not interested in another man telling her she can't have David as a best friend. Bentley has not only a male best friend to overcome to gain Willa's trust, and heart, but four seriously over protective brothers.
I laughed out loud writing this. Maybe I am the only one who with this I'm funny. I loved how pure Bentley's love for Willa was. I loved how Willa stayed true to herself while opening herself up to be hurt again. Willa and Bentley meet in the middle. A little give and take. Making compromises for each other, and for the life they want with one another. This was fun, and funny. I had a blast with the cavemen that are Willa's friends, the over protective McCaffrey brothers. The Angels who are a family of their own, and how they support Bentley. I just love their story.
