Surviving the Detour of Divorce: My Journey with Christ and my Carpool of Friends

Rate this book
Surviving the Detour of Divorce shares the true stories of 14 men and women of faith who survived divorce and found hope in Jesus Christ. This book reminds divorce survivors, and everyone affected by divorce, that they are never alone. When Sheri's marriage ended she turned to other Christian believers for encouragement and support. These brave men and women became her treasured friends, those she calls her "carpool companions." Every time she was emotionally stranded, God encouraged her to carpool. These survivors join Sheri in telling their inspirational true stories of hope as they learned how to access the healing and enabling power of our Savior, Jesus Christ. These extraordinary survivors share their personal stories as they faced issues such narcissism, mental illness, pornography and other addictions, money problems, abuse; physical, emotional, and sexual, adultery, selfishness, bigamy, same-sex attraction, criminal behavior, and loss of faith. The end of each chapter has a Mile Marker Message with insightful questions for pondering and self-reflection. Sheri invites you, along with her carpool of friends, to come along for the ride. The detour of divorce is not God's rejection; He is redirecting your life.

This is written by a friend of mine. I was her college roommate while she was dating her first husband.

Even though there are tough situations throughout the book, the end of each chapter focuses on perspectives learned and asks questions for introspection so you or a loved one can do the work of healing.
