Sidney Sloane became a PI for one reason: to find her father's killer.
Private investigator Sidney Sloane turns over every rock in Hollywood's seedy underbelly searching for missing actress Iris Rose. What she uncovers is a conspiracy dating back twenty years, one that may lead her to not only the kidnapper, but the man who killed Sidney's father.
Skylar Finn grew up in a refinery town just outside of Houston, Texas. She has lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Colorado, and most recently Florida. She writes on the road on planes, trains, and buses. When she's not writing, she is out looking for the next adventure.
This book was listed as a mystery, which is why I got it. It relies on supernatural experiences, including visions and a ghost. If this had been included in the description, I would not have gotten it. The book might have better reviews if its description was accurate, because fans of that genre might enjoy it. I’m not, and I did not.
There was minimal profanity, although it was stronger midway through the book.
A lot of the book was devoted to descriptions of life in Hollywood and of the main character’s past cases. There was a good bit of repetition regarding the main character’s background and childhood.
There were confusing, similar names (Taylor and Timothy).
This is written by one of my favorite authors and as always, does not disappoint. Sydney is a great character, incredibly strong female. The story is compelling with lots of twists that kept me guessing. As always, I am looking forward to the next book by this author.

I was enjoying this book until about 30% in. This story should have been listed under supernatural for those of us who do not believe in ghosts or coming back after death. I didn't finish as I would never have started it if it had been described properly.

Loved this story. It gave you background what really happens to try and make it as an actor or actress in Hollywood. Loved the two main characters. Would have liked to find out who killed Sydney's dad.
The author seems infatuated with all things Hollywood. I only finished the book because I'm trying to read the whole series. Most all the books, so far, in this series have been excellent. This one wasn't.
