Great start to this story. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was better than the blurb. There is a definite mystery here and the cliffhanger has me wanting more as soon as possible. I wanted more from the vs and motivations as to why this is happening in the first place.

Her fate is tied to mine now, closer than she will ever know. I've pulled her into the darkness. Now it's my job to make sure, she'll survive-even if it means risking everything I have worked for my entire life.
This is a dark romance. I just wanted to warn you that it might hold some triggers for some people. If you have read the Puppetmaster then you met Riley and now you are getting her story and I have to say buckle up it is quiet the story to read. Riley has lost her job and is not in the process of interviewing for another one. A strange on that would have had me running for the hills but Riley I must say is a brave little thing. However she is about to be put right in the midst of her past and man she moved and left in the past. Or had tired to. She thought about him all the time. Now Cain is back and he has her and he doesn't just have her he took her and he has big plans for her. These two could be so amazing together and they both know it but boy oh boy do they fight it. I also have to say that their chemistry smoking hot and swear your kindle just might freaking melt. I loved this book and it had me one the edge of my seat the entire time. I love dark romances and Linnea May is amazing at them. If you have never read her books then you are missing out. She will keep you guessing that's for sure and I so need the next book in my hands right this second. This is a duet so expect the cliffhanger and man what a cliffhanger it really really is. Do not miss this one. It is absolutely amazing.

Interesting and mixed start to this series by Linnea May. The relationship between Cain and Riley is not totally clear to me. They worked together, they had an affair, she lost her job because of it, and she fled the city. There were a lot of holes I hope will be answered in the next book. The dynamic between Cain and Riley is complicated, he's using her for revenge, but is crazy possessive. Riley seems a bit of a push over, desperate for any crumb of attention he pays her. But I didn't feel a D/s vibe at all, just his bullying ways. But, the book has twists, turns, a great cliffhanger. It a fast paced page turner, I just want more in book 2...please.

Riley Prey thought she was interviewing for a job, but it turns out she was participating in her own abduction. Riley may be near genius when it comes to coding, but she won't feel very smart when she finds out that Cain Hewett is the man that is responsible for her kidnapping. Cain is ruthless, he wants revenge, and Riley will be the to get it for him.
Sexy, sizzling hot, and fascinating characters. Riley was fired from her previous job because of Cain, but she still finds herself obeying Cain's demands on her body, and agreeing to help him with his plans for for vengeance. Fantastic dark romance with BDSM, surprising twists, and a dominate man bent on retribution. I loved this book!

This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a great story. The writing was good and the characters were interesting.
The back story and characters were interesting although I wish it was revealed a bit sooner than they were. But the premise of the story was a great idea. And the book was very interesting!
I look forward to reading book 2!

Every once in a while, author Linnea May introduces her readers to a couple who will stick with them long after they have finished reading the book, in this case a two-part story, but as of this review, the sequel has not been released.
Cain and Riley are one such couple.
I am not sure who or what I expected Riley Prey to be when I learned of her existence in the previous book, The Puppetmaster, from her younger sister Alena Prey, but it was not this headstrong, smart app developer with a few submissive secrets of her own. And her initial reaction to Cain when she realized he was the mastermind behind her unusual kidnapping was… unexpected.
Aside from some disconcerting happenings that confuse her, Riley is torn about her deeply rooted feelings for this man once she realizes she may have been mistaken about him, especially when his hired thugs rough-house her and imprison her per Cain’s orders. Underlying any fear, however, was a smoldering promise for an exciting plot that eventually started unfolding in what appeared to be the makings of a partnership of sorts. And who is Cain? You just know there is going to be something about him that is going to knock the breath right out of us.
There’s something about the pairing of Cain and Riley that has really only been hinted at in Tied – a raw chemistry, perhaps, or a soul-level understanding or a shared sense of vulnerability… whatever it is, it extends beyond attraction or lust, and sex – but I fully expect whatever it is, it will explode in the follow-up. There is a depth to their shared connection that as yet remains buried. I am intrigued how it is going to play out.
Tied ends with a cliffhanger, but instead of being disgruntled, I am anxiously awaiting how author Linnea May is going to roll out the rest of the story… the story twist, the sultry sex, the underlying romance and love, and the satisfying HEA. You know it will be memorable!

We first met Riley in Puppet Master where she was introduced as Alena's sister. We heard there how she had lost her job and moved to be near her sister in Boston. In this book, we meet Cain (the reason for her being fired) who has been looking for her during the past months. He finally tracks her down and unwittingly lures her back to him through a too good to be true job interview. As it turns out, there is a job involved - just not the one advertised. The chemistry that had previously existed between them is still there, although very much complicated by the fact that Cain kidnapped her, humiliated her, admitted that the version of himself that she previously knew was a lie, told her a story about his family (that relates to the job he wants her to do) that may or may not be true, has a phone conversation (which she overhears) that indicates he may not have meant the promises he made to her... so nothing too complicated, right? Ok, so it's hard to see how these two will get their HEA at this point. I'm very eager to see how the author pulls that one off in the second half of this duet. As the job that Cain wants Riley to do involves infiltrating the Covey, I'll also be interested to see if we run into any familiar characters from the Onyx books. If you haven't read the Onyx duet, I don't think that you have to read them before reading this. Yes, you'd have a better understanding of the group and its workings but enough of a background is provided here for you to be able to jump right in. I do recommend the Petal duet, Onyx duet, and the Puppetmaster, though (all of which are interconnected), if you like this one.

Riley Prey is starting over. After losing her job as a software developer six months ago, she moved across the country to be near her newly married sister - her hero and only remaining family. But finding a new job has proven to be a challenge, so when she comes across a listing that sounds almost too good to be true, she pounces on the opportunity. The pay is good and it sounds exciting, but the interview process is unique. She is to prove her skills through a series of tests. The first test has her hacking into the wi-fi at a cafe. Child's play. But she has no idea that she has fallen into a trap.
Cain has not forgiven Riley for disappearing on him six months ago. He had forgotten just how alluring she is, though. He needs to touch her. He loses focus and becomes lost in her. Any man would be vulnerable to her charm. Cute and nerdy, brilliant yet gullible, she is perfect for the job. He just hadn't anticipated the jealousy.
The suspense grabs you from the start and keeps you hooked and begging for more at the end. As the story unfolds, Cain lures Riley into his scheme, and their brief yet significant past together is reflected upon. Cain and Riley share an unusual chemistry. Even in the face of betrayal, it cannot be denied. His cold, domineering way calls to her desire to submit without question, even when faced with risk. They play a high stakes game, but who will come out on top becomes even more obscure as more questions need answered in the end.
Nothing can be taken for granted as Cain and Riley's complicated relationship takes a twisted turn further to the dark side. This is a quick read. It is nicely written, though the review copy has some errors. The POV alternates between Riley and Cain. The plot is very complex and intriguing. Shrouded in mystery, readers will reach for the sequel. The characters are well-defined, though much remains unknown at this point. I rate this book four stars.

Riley thought it was a job interview. It was so much more than that. A blast from the past. It was the last thing she expected when she started this. Not totally welcome though. Until she found out what he really wanted.
Cain worked with Riley for a short time, and during that they had something going. Until one day Riley just disappeared. He had no idea where she was, and he wanted her back. He went to lengths to get her. Set her up in a way. And now that he has her, he's going to make her pay for leaving him.
"I knew I needed her back, and I knew I would get her back, no matter how long it took."

What they have is intense. It's something they both try to push off as nothing, but you can tell it's so much more. Cain wants Riley for something personal. Not just because she left him with no word, but he has some serious alternative motives in taking her. As for Riley, she's back and forth on doing what he wants. She knows he's a bad guy, he kidnapped her for Christ's sake, but she also wants him, so it leaves her conflicted. This book is one big misery of, what's going to happen? It is a duet so it's a cliffy, but it's a really good read so worth it.

A Romance so full of SUSPENSE and so incredibly sensuous it is a total MUST-READ!
WOW! Having just finished TIED by author Linnea May, I have to admit the story BLEW. ME. AWAY! Divinely well-written and supporting the most impeccable characters, TIED is one of those romantic suspense stories that provides just enough information to feed a reader’s vivid imagination while never providing enough for a reader to feel settled or satisfied. That essence of the unresolved had me reeling and focused without ever regretting having walked down that alleyway with Riley. The chemistry between Riley and Cain is so palpable, readers can’t help but long for them to take that big step to trust and fully love each other. Yet how does Riley trust the man who kidnapped her? This first part of a duet ends with a cliffy that readers will have no problem scaling as TIED is an exceptionally good read! Some may choose to wait to read TIED until the duet is complete, but anyone 18 years and older, who appreciates a good suspenseful romance will want this MUST-READ in their library! I received this book as an ARC. We briefly met Riley in The Puppetmaster. She is Alena's baby sister who lost her job and needs to stay in her apartment for awhile. Tied is the story between Riley and Cain. Supposedly Cain is the reason behind Riley being fired from her job. He was a client looking to purchase their software and Riley got involved with him, which the company found out. She left to go live with her sister Alena and to find a new job. This also meant she left Cain which he is still angry about.
Cain needs Riley's computer hacking skills for a job so he stages a suspicious job interview for her. While completing the task asked of her she is kidnapped. She finally realizes her kidnapper is Cain. He tells her briefly of the real job he needs her for. He then humiliates her in front of his guards.
Cain tells stories to Riley to get her to agree to the job, since his other tactics were not working well. She still doesn't know if she can believe him or not. But what choice does she have. This book leaves you on a cliffhanger wondering who is Cain talking to on the phone? Will Riley tell Cain she overheard and demand what is really going on? I have alot of unanswered questions now and can't wait for Marked to come out next month😁!

If you're looking for something that makes you grab hold of your seat and not let go well than this book is for you. Linnea has filled Tied with plenty of twist, turns, secrets, lies, and betrayal. OH, and let's not forget the smoking chemistry between Cain and Riley. Riley had left Cain six months ago after he completely humiliated her and he was determined that he would find her again and that is just what he does. Cain sets up an interview for Riley who is in need of a job, Riley has no clue that Cain is behind the interviews until she is kidnapped and taken to him. When the masks come off Riley is automatically drawn to Cain all over again. The chemistry between Cain and Riley is explosive, and even though what Cain is asking Riley to do is illegal she agrees to help him anyway. Now the fun begins. Is Cain really the person Riley thinks he is or does what she over hears him saying change everything?
Linnea has written one heck of a story that will grab you from the get go and will leave you in shock. Yes it's a cliffhanger but well worth the time. Bring on book 2!!!!

Instead she left everything behind and was trying to start again but she missed her relationship with Cain, he taught her the darker side of her womanhood. It’s been six months and she found a job that runs on her speciality that requires a test to see if she can follow instructions. She does everything that asked of her. Which was a trap! Wow!! Riley is looking for a new job since she was fired from her previous job. Cain is the one who wants to hire her. He goes through unconventional means to get her. He knew her from her old job and she disappeared, and it took some time to find her again. Cain needs help so he can get revenge for his parents deaths. I was instantly hooked into this story from the very beginning. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. Riley has always been deeply attracted to Cain and he uses that to his advantage. There is suspense, deceit, lies, and some twists. This will take you into a little mind**** ride. Does Cain really care for Riley, is he just using her, and will he let her go after the job is done? The end left we with a shocked and WTH going through my mind. I can’t wait to read the next book and get my answers. I loved this story and the characters. I will be on pins and needles until the second book.

am so happy to get Riley’s story as we are briefly introduced to her in the Puppetmaster. Riley moves to her sisters home after being humiliated and betrayed at love and work. She is living alone in her sisters apartment while trying to get a job and establish herself.
She is more than shocked when she’s kidnapped and brought to her reason for fleeing her life, former flame Cain. Cain has orchestrated the interviews and kidnapping to get Riley again. She gets to see a darker side of him that she struggles with her chemistry towards him. There is the power exchange that this author is a master at. There is also some drama when Riley agrees to something questionable for him. Drama intensifies when she hears part of a phone conversation.
The drama also ends on a cliffhanger as this story is a duet.
If you like dark romance with a twisted alpha then dive on in. I will be waiting to see how this exciting read concludes. I am volunteering to leave a review for this book.

WOW.....Linnea has done it again!!! Tied is a steamy, suspenseful, and psychological read. It focuses on Cain, an admitted criminal who plans to infiltrate and destroy an organization known as the Covey since it was responsible for the murder of his parents when he was a child, and Riley, a kidnapped computer whiz who Cain is holding captive as he needs her to bring down the Covey. Cain and Riley were lovers at one time, but Riley does not know whether she can trust him as he has lied to her in the past and was responsible for her being fired at her previous employment. This book is so psychologically twisted that it is difficult to determine what is reality and what is the truth. There is a cliffhanger at the end of the book preparing you for the second book in this duet which is entitled Marked. I highly recommend this phenomenal book by Linnea May. I believe it is the best book I have read in a long time!

Riley Prey has mad computer skills and applies for a job that utilizes her abilities. Her first interview is a type of scavenger hunt that takes her down a dark alleyway with frightening sounds and shadows all around. She can't help but wonder just what kind of work this is and what she has gotten herself into. Cain (Preston) Hewett is an investor in cybersecurity and got to know Riley when he approached her company, looking for her specific computer applications. They had an intense connection right from the beginning and Cain has never forgiven her for leaving him. But there's more at stake than finding her with what he has in mind. He wants revenge, revenge for the death of his parents. Riley is just the right person to hack into the computers of the Covey, a crime syndicate that Cain's father worked, and died, for. Riley begins to see him differently, but when he takes a phone call out of the room, she overhears a conversation that stuns her. What a perfect place for a cliffy!

Woooowww. This was a dark and twisted tale that left me breathless with anticipation for the next! The chemistry between Cain and Riley is off the charts hot, but the sense of betrayal and uncertainty causes conflict that I’m still stricken with after reading the first part of this duet. There is a lot of anticipation, unanswered questions, and anxiety about what will become of Riley. Is Cain playing her for what she can do for him? Is there any way they will be together? I finished this in record time, and let me tell you...I still have no idea. This is a compelling read which has a distinct cliffhanger (although at the time of writing this, it was fully disclosed in the blurb as such) being a two part story, and I cannot wait to see where the author takes it next.

What a powerful beginning to this new series! The story of Cain and Riley will hold you captive from beginning to end. I actually read it in one sitting as it was so good, I didn’t want to put it down. Riley is a young woman, computer savvy and in need of a job. A while back, she had met Cain, but for some reason, they parted ways. Until one day Cain reenters her life in an unexpected way and now she is his captive. But why? What does he need from her? As you read, you find out more about Cain and who he really is. Yet Riley is attracted to him for some reason. When Cain tells Riley the reason she is with him, will it change her feelings for him? Can she do what he is asking of her? So much goes on in this story that will make your head spin, but in a good way. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next story in his intriguing series!

All to soon finds herself being held captive by Cain a businessman and Dominant she was involved with six months ago that ended badly. Lies,secrets,threats are revealed that will change the dynamics of their relationship. You can feel how much they want each other their chemistry is undeniable as is their hot steamy sex . The story is fast paced and it has one doozie of a cliffhanger that will have you shaking your head in confusion just as Riley did.

Another great dark and twisty possession book from the mistress of dark and suspenseful romance books, Linnea May. Riley Prey thinks she is going to an interview for a job she desperately needs. Cain, a man from her past has other intentions in mind. There was once something of a relationship between Riley and Cain and when she realizes who has "kidnapped" her, she immediately relaxes. That relief is quickly replaced by something else when Cain informs her that her life now belongs to him. Things don't seem so bad for Riley until she eavesdrops on a phone call and hears some disturbing things related to her. What that means is left to the readers to wait on since that is the cliffhanger that leads into Book 2. I cannot wait!

What a dark and sinfully good read. So much goes on in Tied. So if you are looking for an non stop, cant put down read, I have found it for you. In Tied we have a dark read filled with danger, lies, secrets, steamy scenes and yes you will be left needing book two as soon as possible.
Riley thought she was doing a job interview, little did she know what it was really. She did not know it was him.....
and he has come to collect what is his. He is going to make her pay for leaving him.
I just really enjoyed this dark read so very much. I am a huge fan of dark reads. The darker the better for me. Cain is such an alpha and he had me from the start. What these two have together is intense, and the chemistry between the two is hot!!! There is a cliffhanger but this is a duet so it is expected. I would highly recommend reading Tied.

I couldn't get enough of the lust, love, drama ,secrets twists and turns, brutality cruelty seduction and so much more This story was definitely smokin hot with an intriguing storyline that kept me thirsty excited and on edge from the very beginning to the jaw dropping end a perfect dessert to a long day and an amazing fantasy of taboo love that I just could not get enough of this naughty little morsel!!!!

I was so intrigued by this story and it pulled me in from the very first page. I read it in one evening and desperately kept reading just to find out what would happen next. Riley is a force to reckon with and has so many layers to her personality. She is intelligent and passionate. Riley goes to a job interview with no idea of how it will change her life. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but a man who Riley must deal with is both dominant and quite the alpha male... but is he a player, a monster or a savior? Someone she can trust or someone to fear. Can't wait for the next book to see how their lives come together or get torn apart. I was given an ARC of this book and my thoughts and opinions regarding the book are wholly my own.

Oh so delicious! This is a dark tale of Cain and Riley filled with intrigue and suspense. They have previous history together, which came to an abrupt end when Riley was humiliated by him. He kidnaps her and sucks her into his world where he is focused on seeking his revenge. Riley is reluctantly drawn to him but is quite the feisty character and tries to navigate her way through the predicament she is in. There is just enough details around Cain to give us hope that he might redeem himself in the end, however the story end on quite the cliff hanger - can’t wait for the next instalment to find out what happens! Really well written, some yummy steamy bits, this is a page turner and a must if you like dark romance.

This certainly was an entertaining read. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this story, I just decided to go in blind and that decision made for a more engaging experience. I didn’t know this was a spin-off of The Puppetmaster book, seeing as Riley is the younger sister of that book’s main character.
There’s already a history between Riley and Cain, although not much of one given the brief glimpses into their short shared past. The story really began to amp up by chapter 3 and I couldn’t wait to find out exactly what Cain’s endgame with Riley was going to be. If the story he told is true, it’s a good reason for his plan, but who’s to say that’s what really happened? I gotta admit I wasn’t shocked by the last page, but definitely intrigued and now I can’t wait for the next book.
