this type of stories are very much to my liking. its about xuanzang (玄奘), a monk from the 7th century china, who went to india to study up on buddhism. that journey took around 19 years and afterwards, back in china, he wrote a travelogue recounting his adventures. that travelogue was also what famously inspired journey to the west, hence why i decided to pick it up next.

there is also a 2016 biopic titled Xuanzang. imma watch it.
