Camden I'm a fun-loving guy who doesn't take life too seriously. If there's something I want, I go for it. Why not? Life's too short to slide into the grave with regrets. But what I don't do is go for men who aren't out and proud. Been there, done that. The only real way to get to me is to hurt my brother, but now that Sawyer's happy, he doesn't need me anymore. I'm stoked for him, I am! But seeing my friends and brother paired off is a constant reminder of the one thing I don't have but desperately want: Jude. There's something about this beautiful man who insists he's not into men. Even with my rules about guys who aren't out, I've craved him since the moment he stepped foot in Fever Falls. Now that he's one of my best friends, that desire has raged into an inferno I'm powerless to tame.
Jude I've always considered myself straight. I wrote off the whole fascination with my longtime best friend Rush as something weird that happened. I've been over him for a while now, and the person who helped me was Camden Burke, the flirty man who calls me beautiful. I used to hate getting compliments about my looks, but when Cam does it... Well, let's say the way he makes me feel is my first clue that the thing with Rush wasn't a one-time deal. I'm bisexual. And Cam makes me laugh and always listens. Since I've been in Fever Falls, I've become closer to him than I've ever been with anyone, Rush included. So when I decide to explore my newfound sexuality, who better than Cam to show me all the pleasures of being with a man? Only, we get caught, and now it's not just Cam showing me what it's like to be with a guy--he's become my professor in what he calls Boyfriend 101, and apparently, I'm a very good student.
But unfortunately, I have some issues to work out and a few exam scores start slipping. Cam has already graded on a curve by breaking some of his rules to be with me. If I can't get my act together, I'll flunk out of Boyfriend 101, and I can't imagine retaking the course with anyone but him.
Riley Hart is the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. She's a hopeless romantic. A lover of sexy stories, passionate men, and writing about all the trouble they can get into together. If she's not writing, you'll probably find her reading.
Riley lives in California with her awesome family, who she is thankful for everyday.
Don't attempt to read this one as a standalone. I've read all the books in this series written by Riley Hart and was still a little confounded by all the secondary characters. I couldn't remember all the stories well, except for Rush and Lincoln's.
While I liked this book, the MCs (especially Cam), and the moderately slow burn, I felt like the story dragged a little in the middle. Once Cam and Jude got together, the focus was more on Theo, Jude's teenage neighbor who is coming to terms with being gay. Theo was a great character, but this wasn't his story (and, according to the author's note, we're never getting his story).
Anyway, despite this minor niggle, I had fun with this book, which was sexy and romantic, and featured a sweet tentative HEA. This one's worth reading for sure if you enjoyed the other books in the Fever Falls series.
Boyfriend 101 comes in as a close second favourite of the series for me, only falling an itty bit short of the enjoyment I experienced with book #5 (Game On). But never fear, second best is nothing to snuff at!
New Fever Falls buddies Camden and Jude had me chomping at the bit to get to their story. Cam being the Saturgays resident playboy bisexual and Jude being new(ish) to town and questioning his sexuality, these two had on-page chemistry from the very start, way back in book #3 (Whiskey Throttle) when Jude was introduced as series regular Rush’s lifelong bestie.
With Cam’s steadfast friendship and ongoing (but innocent) flirtations, Jude could only hold out so long before he was overwhelmed by his growing attraction to the sexy man who constantly called him beautiful and would always listen when Jude needed to open up about his strained relationship with his father and his complicated feelings for Rush.
When Jude finally makes the decision to explore his attraction to men, Cam is the only one in his sights. Luckily, but unsurprisingly, Cam is a more than willing participant, eager and raring to engage in “naked Jude time.”
Initially, things ignite after a slight misdirect between Jude and Rush leads all their friends to thinking that Jude and Cam are already in a relationship. But playing up the fake boyfriend rouse and actually engaging in some boyfriend activities – particularly those relating to the bedroom – only lasts for so long before these two close friends are willing to admit that neither really wants to play fake anymore.
This was really easy and fun reading, with plenty of sexy mixed in with the strong feelings of love and friendship that Jude and Cam so effortlessly exuded from the start, even when they were loath to admit it. Their past hang-ups, what with Jude’s feelings for Rush and Cam’s secret hurt from an old flame, made their relationship just a little more complex, and ultimately made them stronger for it.
I really liked the whole side-story regarding Jude’s questioning teenage neighbour Theo. The kid was sweet and endearing. I particularly loved his connection with Jude, which became sort-of brother-like as they became friends and confidantes. I was honestly really bummed at the end, when reading the author notes, to hear that Theo (along with other “baby gays” from the series, like Trey, Casey and Steve) weren’t getting their own stories, at least not anytime in the near future. Seems like a waste, considering the series featured two couples that didn’t really hold much appeal or warrant their own stories, at least for me, when characters of the younger generation jumped off the page and screamed feature stories potential. I guess I’ll just have to hold out hope that one day Hart and McCormack will return to Fever Falls and let us witness the lives and loves of these characters when they’re older, more well-rounded men. *crosses fingers*
Overall, this was a very welcomed addition to a series that has delivered on the fun, sexy and sweet small-town romance front. Reading this series was (mostly) a great pleasure, and as I said, I'd never say no to reading more stories set in Fever Falls somewhere down the line.
Boyfriend 101, #6 in the Fever Falls series, is a friends to lovers tale, and more. Here we have our tight group of friends, pairing off, and preparing for an upcoming wedding. Jude has always been straight, even when he crushed on his friend Rush. Jude is taking meds for his depression. But, now his best friend Camden is bringing out new, powerful urges Jude doesn't know what to do with.
Camden is flirty and confident in his bisexual nature.
Jude is discovering he's bi, but it's Camden he wants, only Camden, so it's a GFY, in addition to a friends to lovers book. We see Camden in his full on sexiness and Jude is turned on. They talk, avoid, talk again, and begin a sexual relationship. Camden will teach Jude how to be a boyfriend.
In addition to that, we have Jude's neighbor, Theo, 17, just realizing his gayness, and deciding if he's ready to come out. Our men are so wonderful with Theo. We have Jude and his Dad's issues, and each man's insecurities. Lots of inner thoughts, tremendous sex, explosive pleasure, many firsts for Jude, and intense emotions, all of which are bursting forth.
Beautifully written by Riley Hart. This series has quite an interesting cast of characters. I've not read every book, yet. An exciting ending, resolutions, and many ready to help one in need. Terrific epilogue. Highly recommended. ENJOY !
4 Stars!! 🤩Really L❤️VED It!! 💕 This was a steamy, low-angst, sweet story where friends become lovers....😍. Although simple in concept, it had a lot of sweet moments😍, a few emotional and vulnerable moments😢.. and some super HOT 🔥moments 😉. Camden, the last of the original "Saturgays" has been harboring a crush on Jude (Rush's BFF.. Fever Falls book 3- Whiskey Throttle) since Jude moved to Fever Falls nearly a year ago. But since Jude is "supposedly straight" with the only exception of having feelings for Rush in the past, he is off-limits for Camden. Jude on the other hand, has found a wonderful and supportive friend in Camden and ever since the others in their "Saturgay gang" have coupled up, the two have gotten even closer, spending time in each others homes, playing video games, working on puzzles and meeting for dinners etc.. basically everything that a normal couple would do, except for the sex. Both Camden and Jude feel that there's a possibility of "more" in their relationship, but are too afraid to jeopardize their friendship, which they cherish. But a small white-lie from Jude to Rush brings about a huge consequences when suddenly to preserve the lie, Jude and Camden have to be "pretend boyfriends". Confused as Jude is initially about his new-found attraction for Camden, he cannot resist him either, and what starts off as a fake relationship starts evolving into a real one when jealousy, possessiveness and insecurities start bothering both Camden and Jude. Their chemistry is sizzling hot and as Jude rediscovers himself, Camden is more than thrilled to show-off for his "boyfriend". But is Jude really over Rush? or is he just using Camden? Will Jude be willing to come "out" to his family and friends for Camden? And what about Jude? Will he have the courage to trust his feelings for Camden? This was a great series finale (I think) giving us readers a last look into the happy and well-settled Saturgays & their extended families. I loved Camden and Jude's story and it will go down as one of my favs in the series, alongside Ash & Beau's story and Sawyer & Carter's story 💕😍. Highly recommended!! 👍👍Do I wish that the series would continue? Sure!! But I think the other characters are much too young for their HEAs now....but maybe in a few years, I would like to revisit and see how much Fever Falls has grown and who the newbies are..💝😍
Cam and Jude are so cute! Seriously this book left me in literary depression for being so cute. Cam has felt something for Jude since he first saw him, but Jude was in love with his best friend so Cam always thought he wasn't going to have a chance.
Everything changes when one night Cam takes a woman with him to the club where Jude works and asks him jokingly if he wants to see them having sex, to the surprise of both Jude agrees.
From there, their relationship changes and suddenly Jude doesn't seem so much like a dream but more like a reality. Feelings start to develop but it is not easy for either of them to let the other in, no matter how much they are feeling for each other.
Rating: 4 Stars. Steam: 7 out of 10. Triggers: Love Triangle: Cheating: HEA:
Overall I enjoyed this last installment in this series.
I liked Cam and Jude together. Cam is Sawyer's brother and Jude is Rush's best friend who had been in love with him - but isn't anymore.
These two start out as a kind of...Jude has maintained that he's "straight except for Rush" which...no. Especially when he is attracted to Cam. So eventually he and Cam start a sort of "friends with benefits" thing, but not really. Because the feelings come in pretty quickly.
I gave a star off because, imo, this stretched on longer than it needed to. Eventually it was like nothing was really happening with these two - and it was about Theo, a young teenage character introduced who becomes their friend - and while I liked Theo, this story wasn't about him, so I wondered why the main plot near the end of this was about Theo after these two decided to be together.
If a lot was cut out then this wouldn't have felt like it dragged on for longer than it needed to.
But overall I did enjoy this sweet story, and these two guys together. They had good chemistry - although the sex scenes could have been written better, as sometimes Riley Hart does great sex scenes and sometimes...not, very glossed over and quick.
Overall I'd recommend this, I just wish it hadn't been so long for no real reason and pushing plot that wasn't about our two main MC's near the end.
idk i was bored with this one, maybe i am reading too much Riley Hart at the moment and need a break, but i might come back to this in the future who knows...
I was 4% in this when I almost quit the whole thing.
I get slightly cranky when I read a book and unknowingly walk straight into a full detailed sex scene between a MC and another person — male or female. It’s just not something I enjoy whatsoever.
But, I decided to push on because I had been waiting for this couples book and was excited for the chemistry between them to finally be explored...and let’s be honest I love me a good friends to lovers, fake boyfriends, pining, a mc exploring their sexuality AND a first timer!!! It has it alllll.
And, found that despite cringing hard during the start of the book I enjoyed this so much.
Camden has wanted Jude since he first laid his eyes on him...but he was perfectly fine playing the friend role and never wanted Jude to feel uncomfortable. Jude,on the other hand, is realizing that he may have feelings for Cam — which is slightly terrifying for him but also makes him beyond curious. And, one night is about to open a whole new door for them both.
Boom. There enters that detailed sex scene.
A not quite threesome is what starts it all for them. So, while it annoyed me it..it was in fact what set things in motion for them to finally get their happy ending together.
Once these two got together it was hot as hell. Cam is beyond sweet, caring and always made sure to make Jude feel comfortable. There was a lot of chemistry between these two and watching them develop feelings made my heart happy.
There is definitely something for everyone is this book and if you’re a fan of Riley Hart’s work then I think you’re going to like this.
3 stars!

Riley Hart knows how to write scorching scenes. I’m surprised Fever Falls doesn’t catch fire. I thought no couple could be better than Linc and Rush but Cam and Jude surprised me in the best way. Jude has such a good heart and Cam is amazing with how he takes care of those he loves. Their teasing banter is sweet and sexy, and wow are they hot. Cam especially has a way with words.
“I look at you and wonder if I was looking for you all along.” So many feels with Cam and Jude. They are simply perfect together. Watching Jude learn to find himself and trust in Cam was amazing and beautiful. I love Cam and his cocky sweetness. He should teach everyone how to be a boyfriend.
While I adore these two, especially Cam’s taste in pie, Theo won my heart. I’m so glad he has Jude and everyone else in Fever Falls. This town, the people and the Saturgay crew, they make me laugh so much and I will miss them all. There may be something in the water but if so, I will happily drink it everyday.
That just fell right in with the type of story I needed at the moment. Cam and Jude deserved to have their story told and I loved that this was low angst just lovely friends to lovers tale. Sure, Jude wasn't sure just discovering he was bi, but he and Cam knew each other so well that it never felt forced or anything. I loved how they both were with Theo as well! He was such a great kid and was the perfect baby gay for all the Saturgay boys.
This was a fantastic conclusion to this series. It was just a feel good story with two men discovering how to trust that a real relationship was possible and that they could have it all. Cam is such a caretaker, but I loved seeing Jude wanting to do the same for Cam as well. Both of these guys just seem like genuinely nice guys that deserve to be happy.
Everything wraps up so nicely in this story that the Fever Falls series feels very complete. But I certainly wouldn't mind a younger contingent spin off some day. ;)
This one was cute. I started off with the audio, but I couldn't handle the surfer dude voices. I've always pictured these guys a tad bit more mature.
Once I got the voice out of my head it got better.
Cam and Jude were good for each other. I think they needed to communicate a little better in certain areas, but I was appreciative that there wasn't a lot of angst.
I loved the addition of Theo. Cam and Jude were great for him. I also think that Jude needed a Theo in his life.
I thought this was a perfect way to end the Fever Falls series which I have, in the main, really enjoyed.
I loved Cam and Jude, I think there's nothing better than someone learning to express themselves when they fall in love, especially when it's like this, which mixes friends to lovers with a bisexual awakening story.
Well crap I’m really gonna miss this group. I’m so happy Cam got his story. He was great with everyone especially Sawyer, so I’m happy to see this. And it was so nice to get to know sweet Jude. Gosh these two were absolutely perfect together. It’s always the ones who see you through the rough spots that mean the most. Two men finding each other when they feel all alone. I loved how patient they were with each other. I love how they never tried to hide things, and they always talked it out. I know some may complain about Jude and his messy head, but I’m glad that he talked about it. Not everyone’s got it together so I appreciate that he did work through things and instead of being quite told cam that he was working through it.
The story was great, the side characters were of course great since we met them all. The smexy was absolutely hawt! I’m really gonna miss Saturgays. I’m looking forward to seeing hopefully other characters maybe get their books. Can’t wait to see what else these two have up their sleeves
“I’m still sorry it took so long. Being with you feels too good not to wish I’d done it sooner.”
Though I started with this book, being the last in a series, I don’t necessarily think I missed too much not having read the previous books. I could gather enough about the characters and what happened to have a good frame of reference for who the characters were.
I liked that from the start both Cam and Jude were up front about their attraction. Cam was a determined flirt, and I absolutely loved how he always called Jude “beautiful” 🫶
The main conflict was Jude admitting his feeling toward men went beyond his loved for his best friend (Rush) and Cam being afraid to fully put himself out there for Jude, not wanting to be his second choice, but too far gone to deny him anything.
While they started out as FWB, it was always clear this was destined to be more. Mix in a little fake dating, and I liked how both of their relationship insecurities were addressed. And Jude’s parents just gave me all the feels 🥰
Overall it was low angst but what was there, was just the right amount. Riley managed to deliver a satisfying story, whether previously invested in this couple or not.
I loved Cam and Jude’s story! This series wouldn’t have ended right without their HEA, I loved it! This was relatively drama free and the side story of Theo was just perfect. Plus, we got to see how all our faves were doing, so I couldn’t be happier with the ending of this series. Can’t wait for more from Riley!
Jude and Cam were such fun characters to follow around, but I was especially interested in Awkward Boy a.k.a. Theo's story. I really loved the way it ended and I hope Theo has his own book where he continues drawing comics and being awesome.
I've loved the whole series of Fever Falls. Reading about the guys meeting their best loves, creating a community and supporting each other has been a treat.
This war a very sweet and nice finale for the fever falls series. Cam and Jude's story was built up from book 2, I liked the development of the love story and the development of each character.
I read Sawyer and Carter story and it got me curious about Jude and Cam. I liked the slow burning and progression of the relationship between the two and also the fact that Jude doesn't go from 0 to 100 while exploring is bisexuality, it makes the story more realistic. The only thing that I have to say on the "not so good side" is that there are many typos and sometimes the grammar gets a little confusing, nothing that can't be fix by a good editor/beta readers.
I was hoping to see Jude find himself and find someone and finally let go as far as Rush. I was also hoping to see more of Trey and Theo. They’ve become a special part of these stories too. As much as Cam flirted with Jude and stuff, I knew he was interested, but it was amazing to see how things quickly things has turned around and changed. And seen things no one was really expecting…This is an emotional story though, so you will need the tissues. At least I did. Jude has been getting flak from Cam from day one. Being called beautiful always bothered him from other people, but somehow from Cam it’s different. And trying to come to terms with that, has been impossible for Jude. But he loves the relationship he has with Cam. They’re basically best friends. Jude has finally been able to admit things he’s never admitted to anyone else. And the same for Cam. They’ve got people they’re close to. Cam, obviously with his brother Sawyer, and Jude with Rush. But the problem for Jude is finally coming to terms with how he really feels about Cam and if he can go through with what he wants with Cam. And what will it finally mean for him. And with Cam it’s just as bad. Sure, he’s fooled around with others will waiting for Cam but no one has ever gotten to him the way Jude has. But can he show Jude that he can be everything Jude needs instead of Rush? And can Cam himself get over how he deals with his ex? I knew there was a connection with Jude and Cam. Neither, I think, really wanted to delve at how deep it went for either of them, until one night when things drastically changed. But even then, it was still hard to let those walls down for both of them. Despite being so outgoing and a huge flirt, Cam had his own baggage to deal with as well as Jude. But what I love about these two even more, was no matter what they were dealing with with themselves, they were there for others, like Theo. Theo got a big brother he always needed, and before he knew it, he had two. And then a whole lot more.. But you have to read about all that. Just know, this story is really special in a lot of ways, if you haven’t already read it. If you haven’t kept up with this series, you need to be as well. These guys have a way of touching your heart in ways you never thought about. All these guys are special, and when they thought they had no one else, they made a family of their own. With all their friends and what little family they had. And it made all the difference to a whole lot of people.
Boyfriend 101 takes two friends and inserts the fake boyfriend trope, but honestly? Not so much. For everyone it’s obvious that they are together, even if they’re not admitting it to themselves out loud. I would classify it as more of a self-discovery story (for Jude), and a pining-and-hoping-for story (for Camden), with the backdrop of a group of amazing friends.
The story was relatively low angst; there’s really no major drama to be found. It’s more about Jude’s road to accepting his sexuality…a road that really is not bumpy at all. Some extra interest is generated with Jude’s teenaged neighbor Theo (just so you know, he’s awesome), but even with some small amount of turmoil that includes him the majority of the story flows quickly and easily. It makes for a happy conclusion to the Fever Falls series while giving some favorite side characters their own happy ending.
I found this to be an enjoyable close to the series, and even without the drama Camden and Jude were wonderful together and made this a solid 4-star read for me. The adult language and their steamy physical scenes do make this story one for readers 18+.
"Cam shook me up, twisted up my thoughts and made me vulnerable with him in a way I'd never been with another person in my life." Boyfriend 101 the final book in the Fever Falls series might be my favorite of the set or at least equal to my love of the very first book in the series. This one included some of my favorite sub tropes- fake boyfriend, friends to lovers. The friendship was fun and the sex was sinfully hot! Camden and Jude were absolutely fantastic together. I loved that it was low angst and was just an overall enjoyable read from beginning to end. "With Cam... F*ck , I wanted to devour him, I wanted to know what it would feel like to be devoured by him, and that was scary as hell."
Cute romance abouth bi awakening. But i noticed that reading it out of order in the series lost a lot of the relationship build up and the background and the history of the characters I got the first time I read this and therefore it lost a little of the appeal.
i have to say that i am a little bit conflicted. i enjoyed this obviously. but i think the book should’ve focused a bit more on the teaching aspect. either that or change the blurb. because it left a bitter taste but i liked this a lot. i even cried a little bit.
A bit over 4 stars? I don't know I hate rating books but I loved this. My favourite of the series with Ash and Beau's book, for sure!
This was such a sweet and fun and unproblematic friends-to-lovers piece. For a few books now, we've seen Cam flirt with Jude and Jude struggle to know how to react.
Jude has always been straight... until he realised he was in love with his best friend Rush, who found the love of his life in Fever Falls. Depressed and heartbroken and most of all very confused, he settles down in Fever Falls too and for the first time, he gets a group of people who care about him. He works as a barista in the group's favourite gay bar, but he is still pretty sure his feelings for Rush were a fluke... until Cam.
Cam is easygoing, he is a protector but he is always down to have fun. And he cannot resist Jude's pretty looks. Jude is so different from his usual type, but they have something between them. They immediately become friends and Jude feels comfortable with Cam, and they trust each other so deeply with their secrets. Cam is the only one who knows how deep Jude's feelings for Rush were, and Jude knows about the one time Cam was in love and how badly it ended.
It was just one lie, a little white lie to stop Rush from feeling guilty over Jude's feelings and a second later, Jude and Cam are thrown into a pretend relationship, for Jude to experiment with a man for the first time, and who better than the man he trusts more than anyone else and who he is insanely attracted to? Except they're already best friends, and when their physical attraction becomes too strong to ignore... they don't know what they are - best friends with benefits? fake boyfriends? or were they the real thing all along?
I loved this. The relationship between Cam and Jude was so sweet and safe and flirty, they made me so happy. I love how Cam did everything he could to make Jude at ease and give him time and space to deal with all the changes this relationship forces him to confront. Jude needs time to process stuff, and often he puts distance between him and Cam and it makes Cam a little insecure, but they always communicate and are upfront with how they feel and they never lead the other on. They just care so much about the other, and they're both just as whipped. The smut was super sweet, different from the rougher sex MM romance tend to gravitate toward and I loved that too.
This book kind of felt like it took the tropes of books 2-4 and made them better: flirty friends-to-lovers? check. Pretend relationship? check. Grumpy-ish and sunshine-ish? check. Bi-awakening? check. And one of the elements I liked best was how Cam and Jude took Theo under their wing. Like Lincoln did Trey, they adopted this confused lonely teen and helped him grow confident in himself and offered him friendship. Where Trey felt kind of an after thought sometimes in Linc and Rush's book, Theo was more present and I really liked the dynamics between him & Jude/Cam.
The writing style is the one thing I'm not suuper fond of, as usual the dialogue is super repetitive with the same phrases used multiple times in the book to the point where it gets a little jarring.
Still, I enjoyed the book! The series was fun and Ok, but books 1 and 5 made me happy. I love to see a couple like Jude and Cam who just genuinely enjoy each other's presence, trust each other dearly and openly communicate and do everything they can to make what they have work. It was lovely!
