Steve's wife says, "I loved the plot line, writing, grammar.....but I have a bit of trouble with the misleading vocab. The author has a character saying that living a minimalist lifestyle is a great way to keep from getting caught up in capitalism!!! I hope she meant consumerism which is the belief that the acquisition and accumulation of things is a primary source of happiness. Capitalism on the other hand is what allows the main character to choose her favored occupation, earn as much or as little as she chooses, travel as she wishes and to pursue her definition of happiness. Authors have the power to change the culture and I love that as a Christian author, Ms. Woods is writing such a very winsome book.
I am so happy to find a really good book with a young man and woman who are attracted to each other for who they are and the values they hold rather than only by looks and sex appeal. This is an excellent story that I felt good about reading and didn't have to skim over word pornography to get to the end. Lovely setting, interesting characters with imperfect lives who are willing to listen to their heart to become more mature and loving human beings. I look forward to more of these stories.
Emma Woods is an excellent authors and I have read so many of her series that I can not pass any one offered. Emily travels from place to place never staying longer than a year. She meets Nat who is one of those handsome, good looking guys that knows it. They do not hit it off but stay around andsee how this wonderful story develops while they work through their feelings from their trip of life. It is amazing how love can mature and you can fall in love before you understand what is happening. It was such an amazing read so be sure to pick up your copy and enjoy the entire story.
Emily is a loner and a drifter, never staying in one place for more than a year. She comes upon a quaint town in Wyoming and finds a barista job and a nice place to live.
Nate is a wealthy, self-absorbed and devilishly handsome guy who strolls into the coffee shop and changes Emily in ways she would never imagine.
I really enjoyed this story, but in a way, I had a hard time understanding Em’s constant urge to “take flight” and leave.
I really loved the epilogue, but would have enjoyed it more if there was a wedding ❤️ Maybe it’s in the next book. 😉💐
Oh, this is exactly what I needed at this moment. A calm, sedate love story that had problems arising at times, but all handled so realistically and with such care that I could hardly wait for Emily and Nate to get their forever after. Emily's history turned her into a roamer without realising it. When she is employed as a barista in Birch Springs, Wyoming, she immediately took a dislike to Nate, labeling him a lady's man and thought he took everything in life superficially. I was left feeling warm and fuzzy inside and look forward to more from Emma Woods.
I would barely classify this as a Christian book. They mentioned God and praying at one point toward the end. But they never talk about giving their life to the Lord or praying together as a couple or anything like that. It’s very frustrating to me the books are labeled as Christian romance and have very little to do with being a Christian in a relationship
I really wish the authors would stop saying that they are Christian romance authors when they are clearly not. And this person is clearly not a Christian romance author.
What a story. She never stayed anywhere for very long, because of losing her family and home. She wandered when she felt like moving on- not getting attached to anyone. She did have a relationship with God, but she also kinda blamed others and Him for her situation. When she found a really small town with a beautiful old Victorian home, rented rooms for only girls, her life changed for the better.
I just couldn’t connect with the main character. She was constantly giving people dirty looks and rolling her eyes. She went from detesting Noah all the way through the book, told him off, then within days she was talking to him on the phone every night and missing him when she didn’t see him at the coffee shop, to declaring love, it was too much.
I understand that it is a really short book but some of the character development felt so rushed. It feels like Nate got yelled at once and then changed from one day to another without ever having any issues or stuggles with his new behaviors. Emily was slightly better, but still felt a bit too easy. The story was cute, but too rushed.
This was such a good book. I was struggling along with our characters and love they walk through everything. I have questions though and need answers! Hopefully the next books will answer them.
