Nothing makes a human feel more helpless than living in the world of vampires.
With one vampire down in the Durand house, everyone is on edge. Most of all, Piper. There were only so many drapes to clean and sexy vampires to keep her busy and her mind off what was missing.
Finding the sixth Durand vampire might be harder than they think when their master is bound and determined to keep him out of arms reach.
When they have to turn to others to save Wynn, Piper will be put to the test in more ways than one. Will they be able to save Wynn from their ancient master or will the price for his freedom be more than Piper is willing to pay?
Erin Bedford is an otaku, recovering coffee addict, and Legend of Zelda fanatic. Her brain is so full of stories that need to be told that she must get them out or explode into a million screaming chibis. Obsessed with fairy tales and bad boys, she hasn’t found a story she can’t twist to match her deviant mind full of innuendos, snarky humor, and dream guys.
On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. As an ex-computer programmer, she dreams of one day combining her love for writing and college credits to make the ultimate video game!
Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.
Also, third person is really weird when writing about yourself. Just putting that out there.
As this story goes on the characters just get more and more annoying. Piper particularly is doing the most in this section. Within the first three chapters she's having a melt down and I cannot tolerate the dramatics anymore.
As expected the story has turned into a battle of the houses and now hunters I don't give a fuck about are involved. Ridiculous shenanigans ensue to fill the plot (she literally has to have sex with someone to prove she wants to save wynn, ew. Which is so sad because I could have seen her having a thing with that person in a much more natural way.) After this they all head to yet another hideous vampire (anyone else noticing a common theme that all other vampires/houses are horrible and only want to fuck piper up immensely?) to acquire info about where wynn is with absolutely no real plan in place to get rid of Boris and up to this point he has been a pretty huge thorn in everyones side. Obviously the 100th hideous vampire wants piper in exchange for information so she gets attacked again, surprise. What's baffling is she acts so shocked and damaged by it like bitch you chose to go there, u know what's good. U signed up for it so staaahhp. Of course useless bickering happens some more (she fights with all of them just to have a hissy fit no one needs). Powers/blood are used and she finds out where wynn is all while replacing her recent trauma with dick. Any who, she finds out she won't be going with to get wynn and has some more hissy fits. Then fucks the twins magically at the same time even though she's not had anal before but somehow they both get in her at the same time (the way it's described isn't good) of course the hunter aspect was introduced so all that is happening at the same time and everyone comes back to see her getting fucked. She's embarrassed naturally since she's SUCH a classy hoe. Underlying issue with sharing vibes from rayne. and it ends with the guys going to finish Boris off who is already dying so they get ambushed by hunters and go into hiding. Three months later piper is with Darren and marcus shows up telling them the others gotta stay gone for a while and she alludes to not listening or caring and probably intends to go find them and fuck more shit up then play like she's the victim (:
Overall I'm not impressed with where it's going, the sex is meh. The plot is meh. They still act like she's an employee half the time. There really isn't much special about her so it annoys me that they all magically want her. If she was written better it wouldn't be so bad but she is so obnoxious 95% of the time couple that with guys that aren't that great either (rayne, Darren, and Marcus aren't too bad here but they weren't great in the beginning either) plus a story that's kinda messy and not always put together in a concise way (word errors, iffy magic and blood stuff sometimes it works a specific way and other times doesn't) so I'm not loving it. I will finish it though because I've come this far and it is mildly entertaining although infuriating.

Well, I’m officially halfway through the main books in the series, and she’s only got one brother left to sleep with. This is definitely one of the largest reverse harems I’ve read so far—but I’m loving it. Funny enough, I’m not even a huge fan of reverse harems in general, but this one has completely pulled me in.
What really keeps me coming back is all the intense suspense, action, and just the overall plot outside of the obvious romance and smut. There’s so much going on beyond the relationships, and I’m here for it.
Next up is the novella, which looks like it might explore a relationship between Piper and Darren. I’m very excited to see where that goes!
I absolutely love this series and this latest addition is just as awesome! I love Piper and her sexy vampires and carrying on from the previous book the story continues to grow and develop and once again I find myself ‘sucked’ into this amazing world built by the author!
This story was much better than the last one. It was dramatic and exciting. I am glad that all the characters were interacting and contributing to the action. The author redeemed the storyline with a much better focus than the prior book.😊
This is book four of the House of Durand series and sees the Durand brothers be one less, after the recent disastrous visit to their sire Boris and his aides Valentine and Theresa. He has damaged all of the brothers in one way or another, physically and mentally, before they managed to break away and set up their own house. Now one of their number, Wynn, has been left behind, as payment for their actions, as none were willing to allow Boris and his cohorts to lay their hands on Piper, especially with the fascination Valentine had for her. It was a deadly game of pretending to play along with their sire’s sick games and demands, without going too far. Everyone has ended up damaged in some way, but Piper is the one who is taking the loss of one of the brothers, one she was close to, really badly. Only Rayne is able to console her, as she cries herself to sleep. She blames Antoine for what happened and says they never should have left one of them behind, but she doesn’t know just how sick Boris can get.
Piper goes into overdrive in her cleaning jobs, trying to tire herself out, so she might be able to sleep each night, as the other brothers make plans to get their brother back. Only problem is that Boris knows they are going to come for their brother and he has disappeared from his normal haunts and numerous homes. Nobody is talking and he could be anywhere in the world by now. Only one vampire offers them a hint of where Boris might be, but it comes with a price. The Durand’s must attend his club, an infamous club for vampires and debauchery, if they want to hear what information he holds. Plans are to leave Piper at home with Rayne, whilst the rest go to the club, but she is having none of that! But she doesn’t really understand what her position as a house servant bound to Antoine, really means to other vampires and what danger she will be in, in a vampire only club. Antoine points out some of the things she might have to do, to prove she belongs to the family and to ensure no other vampire touches her. It also includes how she must behave or speak, which are not exactly her most controlled aspects of her personality!
But even a simple desire for information turns into a nearly deadly event, as a power play is in effect and Antoine is being conned and delayed, whilst the rest of his family and Piper are in danger. Luckily, Marcus returns just as the brothers are snowed under and comes to their rescue, turning the tide just at the right moment. Still, to get the information they originally came for, there is a price to pay. Whilst the club owner suggests one option, Piper volunteers to pay the price he wants, but it will bring more pain than she could ever imagine. Once they have this information, they will have to work out if it is true and whether to follow it or not. Boris likes to play games and he will have left lots of misinformation behind, to try and cover his tracks. A dream connecting two of the players, brings a vital clue to his whereabouts, but also leads them into the very origins of vampires and a town full of the oldest vampires around. Any moves they make could be deadly, especially when there is talk of vampire hunters being in the area.
Piper is going to be pushed well out of her comfort zone on these trips, seeing some of the worst that vampires do to each other, but also to their human hosts or slaves and servants. The Durand’s realise that unless they kill their sire, they will never be free from his demands on them. She gets closer to the one brother who has never really bothered with her, nor felt she was an important part of their family dynamic. She also ends up having to stay with the twins, whilst the rest hunt for Boris. A little known fact, is that is a hunter sees one of them, they will be able to track them down anywhere, meaning they can’t leave any hunters they come across, alive if they are spotted by them! Their plan to get others involved in taking down Boris, is used by others to backfire against them, and the brothers have to go into hiding, leaving Piper and the twins alone, not knowing where they are or if they are all safe. Piper may still be human, but she is bound to Antoine and feels connected to all the brothers and can’t see her life being or doing anything else any more. There are huge prices to be paid, by her in particular, as other vampires and even Boris, seem to find her scent and her blood, a real pull. Everything is in play, for their freedom to live the lives they want to, without being continually at the beck and call of an evil sire. The cost may be high, but it could be worth it in the long run. This instalment of the series, brings with it lots of danger, heartache and some dodgy situations, but also some more sexy connections with the brothers. I look forward to the next book in the series. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
This series is so weird. And I don't mean the content of it, I mean the vibes of it. This book was by far my least favourite so far, but it cemented this strange feeling I've had since book one. I know these books aren't the longest, but boy, do they FEEL short as hell. I guess part of that is due to the good factor of being easy to read. I COULD sit and read this in one sitting... But then comes the second factor; it feels like NOTHING happens in these books! Yes, I know stuff happens. But coming from a history of reading and enjoying more SFF books, I am used to their being a series of challenges before achieving our goals. And I suppose this series KINDA has that, but the arc of it is severely diminished because the story is constantly interrupted by a THE END and PREVIOUSLY ON. (I mean, thankfully, there isn't really 'catch up' at the beginning of each book.)
But my point remains. I have read four books in this series now, and EACH TIME I have had the FEELING of 'yeah, we're about midway/60% through this plot,' I look down and see I'm at like 86%!! And that made me come to another realisation! Only ONE 'big thing' happens in each book. And IF there is a second thing that happens, it will ALWAYS go wrong, and we will deal with the repercussions in the next book. I don't know. I'm just not a fan of the structure of this series as a whole.
That being said. I am INVESTED! Antoine and Darren are still my fav, just to have that on the record. But tell me why so many things were FORCED in this installation. There was NO REASON for their to be this distance between Rayne and Piper. There was NO REASON for Piper to be SO pissed off at Antoine for 'making her go to sleep' when she was LITERALLY BLEEDING OUT. And, I am sorry, but as he is one of my favourite characters, tell me WHY we didn't get ANY actual on-page development with Darren. All we got was Antoine IMPLYING that Darren and Piper had gotten close, and suddenly, she listens to Darren's every word. And don't get me started on skating past how the HELL Darren got Piper to agree to staying home when the boys went to get Wynn.
And speaking of, we got very little of Piper in this book. And seeing as I don't REALLY like her that much, I wasn't butt-hurt about it, but isn't this HER story?
I don't really know what my thoughts and feelings about this series are. I know I'm mostly enjoying it but I genuinely can't tell if I am ACTUALLY enjoying it, or simply enjoying hating it? I don't know. But I've already started the next book and I already have OPINIONS!
With Wynn held by Boris, the Durand house is on edge. They don't know how to save Wynn, and the remaining guys are clueless on how to handle Piper, who is distraught and feeling guilty for what happened to Wynn. Though they want to leave her behind and save Wynn themselves, Piper is too stubborn to be left out - even if it means danger to her life.
Trigger Warning~ Blood, violence, abuse, and panic attacks.
Everyone was feeling quite subdued in this book as they missed Wynn. With Piper newly being a human servant, her emotions are quite heightened, making her feel her sadness more acutely. When she is not obsessively cleaning the mansion or breaking down in Rayne's arms, she is screaming at Antoine in an angry fit.
I loved how supportive Rayne was being. He has fallen deeply for her.
Also, that scene with Antoine, Darren, and Piper? I wish Antoine would stop being such a jerk and enjoy it already. Even I am running out of patience with his 'not going to show my vulnerabilities to anyone' attitude.
I also love that Marcus is slowly understanding Piper's appeal. I would love to read more from his point of view. And the twin sandwich? Yeah, I need more of that too.
Though before it was mostly in Piper's point of view, this book had many chapters from the guys' perspective too.
I am fully invested in the story, in the series, and cannot wait to see what happens next, with all the Durand Vampires in hiding. If you like a why choose, vampire romance with a sassy heroine and infuriatingly likable heroes, then do read the series. It is not a standalone, so you would have to start from the first book - Indebted to the Vampires.
I wish I liked this one more but I feel the characters are becoming lack luster. Maybe it's just me.
I will still be reading the next book. But currently:
I utterly despise Antoine. I hate him so much after this book. He comes off as such a dick and I want to strangle him.
The scene with Darren... like okay... but again it just made me hate Antoine more and I get that it mentioned it later that sex isn't the same after being alive for so long... but again it makes it seem like Antione is emotionless alot like Boris. No care for Piper or Darren. It was crude and quite frankly almost made me want to DNF. (I really dont like Antione LOL)
I also liked in the beginning of Book 1 and 2 how antione and Darren had a special relationship.
The scene with Drake and Allistor... it was good up until Wynn entered. It made the whole thing... like... it wasn't anything but distraction sex. Which in a way it was... but if she is falling for the vampires.. it felt a lot less important as right here it felt like piper has favorites.
Also why was in Book 1 and 2 it was less crude. The word was Blood bonded..then it turned into human servant. I think the story line has so much potential.. but lacks the depth or emotional connection it has with each character and Piper.
Piper had such a personality and was Fiesty and even in the face of danger she held her ground. But then in the last 2 books.. it feels like she is becoming more of a side character that has no personality and being tossed around like a ragdoll.

Piper hasn’t moved out of the TSTL neighborhood yet. Her reasoning that since she's why Wynn sacrificed himself she should be in on the rescue is massively flawed. How about because she brought this about, admittedly inadvertently, she should stay out of the way so as not to cause further problems? She needs to acknowledge that she’s a liability. Just being a distraction puts the guys off their game trying to insure that she stays safe.
Now Antoine’s “test” to see if she’s willing to do what it takes to help with the mission is downright stupid. We already know her libido is off the charts. So she’s willing to fuck Darren. Hardly a challenge. Not only that, but would the vamps really allow her to have sex with someone outside of their “family?” I don’t think so.
I was so aggravated at her stubbornness that this almost went into my dnf pile. She had sexed Rayne into a stupor so I figured she was going to do the same with the twins. I skipped whatever happened between the three and was pleasantly surprised to find out I was wrong. Perhaps keeping her drunk all the time is the answer.
What make Piper so special? I believe she’s 29 years old and never appeared to be the object of anyone’s obsession before. She couldn’t even have a long-term relationship. Is it that she’s just the “it girl" for vamps?
So, the story ends on an interesting note and it seems that Piper may actually have gained a little common sense. Only time will tell.
I love a good steamy vampire RH and this is perfect! Wynn has been saved but now the Durand’s have to deal with vampire hunters which has caused them to separate from Darren and Piper.
All of the relationships with Piper are progressing, some faster than others but it is obvious they all feel something for her even Marcus and Darren. I honestly was a little put off by the interaction between Antoine, Piper, and Darren in Antoine’s office. I just like my sex scenes to have meaning and that one didn’t, or at least I felt like there wasn’t any deeper feelings or meaning between Piper and Darren then. It’s apparent that the encounter did spark something between the 2 of them though so I’m excited to see that bring explored further in the next book.
I love the different POV chapters because it allows me as the reader to have a little more understanding of all the characters and their actions and behaviors. Antoine is probably my favorite POV to read but Marcus’s POV was pretty awesome too.
I’m excited to read the next book to figure out what happens with the hunters and how they will continue their lives as one big family. I’m also eager to read the development of all the relationships with Piper. Another fantastic book in an already awesome vampire RH series.
Erin Bedford did it again, with yet another amazing book in the House of Durand series.
In "Embrace" we continue to follow Piper and the hot sexy Durand men. The last book left of with Wynn sacrificing himself and staying with their "master" in order to protect Piper. Piper is definitely not happy about it. And now the Durand men has to plot to save their brother and bring down their master.
I won't provide any spoilers, but here, we watch Piper do what must be done to save one of the men she love, proving to Antoine that she will do what must be done, even if it sacrifice her dignity and put her in more danger than her men would prefer. The story continues to progress in a most fabulous way. The chemistry continues to explode between them all... And wait? Darren? Marcus, the twins? Holy Effin' Cow!!! A new twist and hot sexy scene was brought forth! A definite must read. I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. And dang, you definitely won't regret reading it! All I can say is Erin, you must release the next book soon. I can't take this stupid cliffhanger!

“Embraced of the Vampires”, the already four installment on “House of Durant’” by Erin Bedford, continues the story on the relationship between Piper (a human servant) and the vampires in the house
Piper continues to live in the house, surrounded by the vampires and attending to their wishes and the household, that is now suffering with the knowledge that one of them (Wynn) is in fact missing and under the powerful vigilance of the Master. Determined to get Wynn back they seek help outside the family, but nothing comes without a price, and this time Piper needs to decide it the price for Wynn’s freedom is a tad to high.
While the first two books in the series, despite the reverse harem genre, the series used to play with the theme and present a very amusing plot, with a slow burn feel, that for the most part took place in Piper own mind, from the third book on (and this fourth is not exception) the overall D/S theme of the series is fully in the open and Piper is in fact ‘trapped’ in a house full of ‘monsters’ and submits to their whims. The series will undoubtedly appeal to fans of the genre (weak female submit to vampires), not exactly my cup of tea, but the story is nevertheless well written with some interesting twist between the lines.
Piper is still dealing with what happened to her and Wynn giving himself over to their Master to save her. She is feeling guilty and blaming herself for what happened. She is leaning more on Rayne, than the others. Word makes it to Antoine that someone might have information on Wynn's whereabouts, so he makes plans to take everyone to see this vampire. He wants to keep Piper back at home, where it is safe. Piper finds out about the plan and shows him she will do anything to help get Wynn back. Things do not go as planned and Piper is hurt. Due to Piper stepping up, they get the information they needed. Piper dreams of Wynn and helps her take her nightmares and make them her own, he tells her where they are going. When she tells the guys, they know where it is and do not like it. As word has it the hunters are trailing their master and they have to be very careful Will they be able to free Wynn from the clutches of their master? Will they be able to keep themselves or Piper safe or will someone pay more this time?

As Piper's story continues, we get more and more chances to peek into the minds of all members of house Durand - all six vampires and Darren. The more we see, the more complex picture we get, and the more interesting every scene becomes, alternating the points of view. Changing points of view do not only provide the fuller picture, they also make the personalities of the characters more stand out, more distinguishable. With the progress of the storyline, emotions heighten, relationships become more entangled than before, and tension escalates to new heights. Piper proves her determination is endless, and to get Wynn back, she will do what it takes, even though it can cause nightmares for a short time. As her character slowly crystallizes, she grows on me, and as much as I did not like her before, I first accepted her before I started to like her. I also feel more connected to all the men in her vampire family. Now, when the biggest challenge is before them, I cannot wait to see the conclusion.
I love the Durand household! I have fallen in love with Piper and the Vampires (and Darren)! I have read so many vampire series that were stilted or didn't have good chemistry but Erin Bedford had given all of the characters a great backstory. There isn't really an insta-love vibe. You watch the characters fall in love and it's believable.
Embrace of the Vampire is all about getting the family back together. You follow the highs and lows and all the plotting that it takes to get one of their own back. Will it work? Will they have to involve Piper - - cause we all know that a plan with Piper is always going to pivot to plan B, C or even D!
Start with book 1 but have the rest of the books handy. Erin had created a world that you are going to be happy to read. I finished this story in one sitting and had the next book ready to open immediately after!

This story line is getting so complicated as we follow Piper’s activities and what her Durand men are doing to help find where Wynn has disappeared. In the previous story line, Wynn stayed behind with the master in order to keep Piper safe. Piper is definitely not happy, much of the time actually, and insists on being part of the Durand’s plot to save their brother and bring down their master. Piper’s character is very annoying as she doesn’t listen to anyone, even if their advice is for her own good. This is their world, not hers, yet she insists on doing things her way. It feels like she is the trading token to get information. And they don’t even know if the information is correct or not. I don’t like the dom/sub direction that appears to be gaining strength. That is definitely not something I want to keep stumbling over. It’s not sexy, it’s demeaning. And for me, it ruins a good story line.
This is book 4 in the House of Durand series. Piper and her Vampires have returned home. Unfortunately Wynn had to stay behind with Boris. Piper is very upset because she believes it is her fault that Wynn sacrificed himself for her. Antoine devises a plan to rescue Wynn. Not only must they fight and defeat Boris and his underlings but they must defeat the vampire hunters out to stake them. This book was full of action and suspense that kept you on the edge of your seat. Piper has become a full member of the Durand family. She is learning to love and care for them all. Even Marcus is beginning to slightly soften toward Piper. The interactions between Piper and her vampires is entertaining and fun. There are tender and passionate scenes that make all the characters fit well together. This story was very enjoyable. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. POV: multiple HUMOR: yes F BOMBS: yes CLIFFHANGER: yes NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: no TRIGGERS: MFM, MM, fifth base
Emotional start with one of the Durand brothers missing and Piper feeling like she is blamed. They all feel the sadness / emptiness of the missing brother and attempt to find him by whatever means possible - even if it means going to an untrustworthy and dangerous master vampire.
This book shares a bit about a few Durand brothers' past (Drake, Allister, Darren, Wynn, and Antoine) and more info about their feelings for Piper. It also has a rescue mission, the most action so far, a twist, Piper's romp with an unexpected character, and a shocking cliffhanger. Arggg - need to know what happens next - now!

I loved reading Embrace of the Vampires.. it is so exciting and full of action. Piper Billings hired on as a maid to clean up after a house of Vampires... The Durrand Vampires to be exact. In book 3 Piper becomes a Vampire servant to the Oldest Vampire in the Durrand house. It was to protect her from the Master Vampire Borris while the Durrand brothers and Piper went back home. Borris is one very bad and evil Vampire that gives Piper the creeps. Winn one of the Durrand brothers sacrifices himself to stay behind in order to keep Piper safe. Book 4 Embrace of the Vampires picks up where book where book 3 leaves off. Piper loves her boys/Vampires is all I can say. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read the next book.
This book picks up right after the third. The remaining Durand family members head back home to regroup. They next head to a vampire club, but before they do, Piper insists on going with them and has to prove just how far she is willing to go to get Wynn back. Boy does she, in spades. This does end on a cliffhanger but the next book is due in January so we won’t have to wait for too long.
Once again, Ms. Bedford continues her world building. She shows the complicated relationships within the house, including showing us more about Darrel. Her story telling just pulls you along until you’re at the last page and wanting more.

I really like this series and I think its one of the best things Bedford has written. The main male characters are really developing their own personalities, which seems to be something that is hare to do in RH books, and the relationship between them reflects their long complicated paths. I do like the main female character who is also showing her own personality but also in that way that shows the males are helping her grow and become herself. There are a million vampire books out there and although the premise may be similar to others it also has its own unique additions which add to the story. I do wish this book was a little longer and I hope there is more to come that proves why these men love Piper. Overall I am excited for the next one.
By this point in the series, I am fully invested and NEED to know what’s going to happen. That said, this installment left me a little disappointed, it was rather flat - though still contained enough action (and heat) to push the plot along. It got a little darker, but more in terms of the way vampires interact than with actual evil. Things are moving, and there is obviously a HEA on the horizon, just not quite sure how they’ll get there.
I'm seriously addicted to this series, I love all of Piper's men including Darren. I kind of ship those two now that I know he isn't disinterested in her. Also, Marcus and Antoine ,why do I have such a soft spot for these two broody men? I need more, like now. A little spoilery below, I have a feeling the next book is going to focus on her and Marcus and I can't wait. I also love how much the guys are growing to care for her , and that she is basically it for them. I'm dying to read the next book ,and I so very much recommend this series to anyone who likes vampires, quirky, clumsy fmcs, and RH.
This is my favourite book out of the series so far piper has always said what is on her mind but now she doesnt take crap from anyone and I love it I dont want to give anything away but there were some great scenes in here and a few things I was hoping would happen after I read the last book its got me waiting impatiently for what happens next and I cant wait for the next one to be realeased after the way it ended and has got my mind going crazy with what might happen next and trying to puzzle out how the story will go after some things I wasnt expecting

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. I loved this book! Mrs. Bedford did a great job picking up where Book 3 left off. There is a lot of action and adventure in this book as the Durands are tested and pushed to the limits. I enjoyed getting a new perspective on some of the characters. I also liked how some of the relations were really expanded on. We also get to learn some more about where the family came from. There were a couple of really intense moments that left me wanting more. The book kept my attention the whole time and I finished it in less than a day! I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for book 5.
Here we go again. I think Erin is gonna get tired of hearing me say she did it again. But she really did. She picked up where she left off in last book. She does it so seamlessly. Like I have said before not many authors can do that. Piper and her vampires are back. They come up with a plan to get back the missing Durrand brother. Does it work? You will have to read to find out. I would recommend reading the first 3 first . You won't regret this series. One of the best. And omg I loved this book. It leaves me wishing the next one was out like yesterday. ** I received a copy of this book via booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review **
It was great how this followed on from where book 3 left off and sees the rest of members of the Durand house working out how to get Wynn back knowing there are drastic measures that will be needed to do so. Piper also gets to learn a lot more about the ways of the Vampire and it sure is an eye opener for her but she also gets to show she will do whats needed to get Wynn back. I think I will binge read books 1-4 when book 5 comes out so I can read the whole story start to finish as well as make it all last longer.

This is going to be one of those series where I just write one review and use it for each if the books.
From a plot and character view point, the series started out really strong and now after the last book I'm very dissapointed. Not in a book hangover type of way either. It felt like the author's spark for the series fizzled out/went in a different direction and she had to finish it up in order to do other projects in the same world.
All of the books have a large amount of typos and huge inconsistencies. There was so much missed potential that could have made these books epic.
This book has some unique characters. Each of the vampires have a special talent. A family of vampires must save one of their members from their brutal sire. Along the way their klutzy, somewhat idiotic with no sense of self preservation, but with a good heart maid/human servant, Piper have graphic steamy interludes. I believe that this book would be most enjoyable if you read the previous book first. If you want a titillating vampire story, then this book is for you. In that context, I would recommend it.
