Two Hearts Surrendered is a beautiful emotional love story. Luke and Kelly are staring to fall in love there’s an age difference of 7 years but that doesn’t seem to bother them. Luke is in the military and he goes of to war in Iraq, Luke’s life will never be the same he ends up with 50 percent of his body on top of that he loses his leg and his best friend was killed in the line of fire. Luke comes back and different person inside and out. Kelly wants to help Luke but she doesn’t know how. OMG!!! This story got a hold of my heart and squeezed it. Through all this emotional feelings I’m glad I have this book a chance and 5 Star read.

Happy Reading

I received a free copy of this book from the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
Luke has been attracted to Kelly since he was 13 and she was 6. He knew that with his scarred face and tattoo most people were afraid of him, but after he saved little Kelly from drowning , her family accepted him as one of their own. Which was a problem for him. While on leave from the Air Force, he realized that he no longer saw Kelly as his little sister. As for Kelly, Luke was always her hero. Losing his leg in battle didn’t diminish him in her eyes. Kelly always accepted him for who he was.
It’s a story about two positive people who are always ready to make the best of things, no matter what life throws at them. It’s a sweet, feel-good story.

I actually really enjoyed this novella. It was a little short, which I didn't realise it was going to be at the beginning, but it has everything. Luke is a great guy and Kelly is obviously his match. The big question is can he put aside his pride long enough to realise how SHE feels? He needs tk get out of his own head to see how much she's done to aid his recovery. It's beautiful.

Two Hearts Surrendered
By Tamara Ferguson

Five Stars

This is a different kind of book and one that you can read as a standalone. Two Hearts Surrendered by Tamara Ferguson is a very sweet book. It has some good and bad of it of course, but this book is unlike anything that I have read before.

It is sweet (but not too sweet that it will give you a sugar rush). But it is real. A real story that you could imagine happening.

This is a second chance romance. Maybe people would not consider it but in my mind there is nothing else that would be closer to this.

Kelly Callahan could remember the first time that she met Luke Bryant. The boy that saved her life when she was only six years old, and he was thirteen years old. That moment is when he found his place within her family. Becoming friends with her older brother. Finding a place within the Callahan family.

Luke has secrets about his past and what happened, Kelly has an idea what happened but she does not know the whole truth. Luke leaves after high school to go to the military and returns for Kate (Kelly’s sister) wedding. The most magical wedding that Kelly had ever seen. And in this moment any kind of feeling of rejection leaves.

Until Luke has to leave immediately after they found each other to go back overseas. Leaving her with all her feelings still there for Luke. When tragedy strikes, Luke wants nothing to do with Kelly (or she thinks). What will happen when Luke is back and Kelly is meant not to be involved.

Kelly. I loved her. That little diva of a girl. I loved how she found fashion to be something she can enjoy. I loved this story so much. This is a standalone but it is part of a series. When picking this book up I didn’t realize it was part of a series and didn’t feel like I missed out on much to be honest with you.

When Kelly was 6 years old Luke Bryant saved her from drowning at the lake. They have known each other for ever. When she was 18 she told him she loved him and would love him forever, he let her down easy. He was way older than her, but when he came home for her sisters wedding and Kelly is now 20 well he finally gave in and decided he had runaway from her long enough. He was happy and she was happy and he went to Iraq. When he came home he didn't want to see her ever. This story was heartbreaking at times. It was an agonizing journey for Luke and Kelly but one worth reading. I loved it.

Two Hearts Surrendered by Tamara Ferguson a heart rendering four-star read. It’s the first book in the two hearts wounded warrior romance series. It’s a military romance novel and the first I have read by the author; I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. It’s a heart warming romance that spans time and places as Luke Bryant and Kelly Callahan meet when they are kids when a thirteen year old Luke saves a six year old Kelly’s life when she is drowning it sparks an undeniable connection between them.
Luke has had a tough time growing up, and it only gets worse when he goes to serve his county in Iraq, he returns home on leave to attend the wedding of Kelly’s sister he gets a surprise when he sees her and they spend a magical night together. They have loved each other for years but never succumbed. Life seems to be going great for them, until one day it’s not.
It should be a good day, Luke is coming home from war, but sadly he is coming home with serious injuries. He’s a wounded warrior that feels he isn’t worthy of anyone’s love anymore, he feels he has nothing to offer Kelly anymore, she is beautiful and intelligent and better off without him. The problem with this is that Kelly is a strong woman who knows her own mind, and she doesn’t care how he looks, or what happened in the past, she knows her love will be enough. The only problem I can she persuade Kyle this is the case. Will love conquer all?
Tamara Ferguson writes with a great care, I was laughing one page and crying the next it was such a roller coaster of an emotional read, she deals with issues of war and abuse in a caring and compassionate manner, you can’t help but care for the people she’s writing about.

This is Luke and Kelly's story. This was an incredible story about survival for Luke. He has loved Kelley ever since he rescured her from drowning when she was 6 and he was 13. He was abused by his stepdad. When he was old enough he went into the Air Force. He was badly injured whe his plane was bombed by enemy fire and trying to save a fellow pilot. Now after all this he's thinking he's not worthy of her. My heart goes out to all wounded warriors. From one vet to another I salute you.

** This Review May Have A Few Minor Spoilers!!**
Wow! Where do I start? This book was awesome! I will be reading the rest of this series as soon as I can get my hands on it! I laughed, I cried and I wanted to hurt a certain main character at more than one point in this story. This is a story about a wounded soldier and how he comes to terms with what happened to him and war and letting his family and friends help him get past the hardest times he has ever been through.
The story starts out the day the main characters Luke Bryant and Kelly Callahan met at the beach when they were kids. Kelly wondered into the water when she wasn’t supposed to and almost drowned. But thanks to Luke and his attention to detail, he noticed she wasn’t at the beach and he went out in the water to save her. From the day, her hero saved her, Kelly had an ever-growing attraction to Luke. He was quite a few years older than her so she kept her feelings to herself. When Kelly turned eighteen she tells him about her feelings for him, he thought he wasn’t a good enough man for her and told her he didn’t feel the same, despite his strong attraction and feelings for too. Dealing with what he feels and issues that still haunt him from the past, he decides to join the Air Force and leave all of it behind.
A few years later while on leave, he is invited to attend Kelly’s sister’s wedding and decided that he finally wanted to visit home. Even with all those years apart the attraction they both feel is still there and its stronger than ever. The two decide they want to see where it goes, but Luke must go back to the Air Force. They say good bye and after a few months of not hearing from him, Kelly finds out he is in the hospital badly injured and doesn’t want to see her. The wounds he has suffered have left him disfigured and not whole and once again he doesn’t feel he is good enough for Kelly and doesn’t want to weight her life down with the unforeseen problems and complications his future will hold. Will Luke get over the trouble from his past and the new insecurities from his battle wounds? Will Kelly fight for the love she feels for Luke, and convince him that looks have nothing to do with how she feels about him? Will they be able to overcome the obstacles that are in their future or will he continue to push her until she finally leaves? Go Go Go and get this awesome book so you can find for yourself!!

TWO HEARTS SURRENDERED (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 1)
written by Ferguson, Tamara
4 stars

This novella packs so many emotions in such a quick read. You will have empathy, fear, heartache, hope, compassion, love, pride, frustration and joy. Even though this novella is focused around two people there are several others intertwined that I hope will have their own stories written about them someday (if it hasn't happened already).

“Dragonfly Pointe was magic. It was the only place in this world where he seemed to feel alright. Here, he could forget about the deep, dark problems in his life, and chill out just long enough to recharge before returning home.”

Little did Luke Bryant know that as awful as the day started this day would be very memorable in future years. He was on the beach when he saw Kelly Callahan who was only six years old at the time, but he still felt a strong connection and protectiveness to her. Luke knew Kelly’s older brother Dan and after the events of this afternoon it would tie them together forever.

“A beam of light shone down brightly on Kelly, leaving her backlit by a smoky-blue haze. But the strange thing about it was, Luke wasn’t seeing her as a pretty little six-year old girl anymore. He was envisioning her as the beautiful woman she’d undoubtedly be someday. Her white-blonde hair was dancing over her shoulders, but her fiery-blue eyes were staring accusingly into his.”

Fourteen years later at Kelly's sister's wedding she was reacquainted with the man that had that magical pull on her heart whenever she thought about him. She always thought about Luke and she was hoping he would finally see her as the woman she was and not the little girl he knew years ago.

Luke was on leave from the Air Force as a pilot and would be headed back out soon. As much as he loved flying he was starting to struggle with some of the things he'd seen and done. Luke found himself to be scarred physically and mentally. The wedding was a perfect break for him and seeing Kelly was a bonus. He couldn't figure out what she'd always seen in him, but he was starting to think he'd like to find out.

“What he offered her was the raw honesty of emotion and the fierce passion of a soul that's never been exposed.”

Two Hearts Surrendered
by; Tamara Ferguson

Two hearts surrendered is the first book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance by Tamara Ferguson. This is a beautifully written story and it gives you the feeling about what being a casualty of war means, the affects and strain on them and their family.
Luke Bryant and Kelly Callahan met on the beach when they were just kids, he was thirteen and she was six. One day Kelly had wondered out in the ocean and was in over her head, but thanks to Luke he noticed her out in the water and went out to save her. Ever since that moment Kelly has had a growing attraction to Luke but because she was several years younger she kept her crush to herself. When Kelly turned eighteen she tells Luke how she feels, but Luke has never thought he was good enough for her and deciders to tell her he did not feel the same way. The news crushed Kelly.
Luke still has issues from being abused as a child so he decides to join the Air Force and leave it all behind. After being gone for several years, he comes home for Kelly's sisters wedding. When Luke's eyes land on Kelly he cannot believe how grown up she is and has filled out to be a very beautiful woman. He cannot hold his feelings in any longer and tells her how he feels and they end up sharing a night of passion. But the next day Luke has to ship out on another mission and they promise to stay in touch. But after a month of not hearing anything from him she decides it time for her to move on. Soon she finds out why she has not heard from him he is in the hospital.
Luke knows the extent of his injuries and decides he does not want to be a burden to Kelly so he refuses to see her. But Kelly refuses to give up on him. Will they be able to move past all of Luke's problems. Will they be able to pick us where they left off.

This book is five stars!!!
This touching story really gets you where it counts. The story starts out by a scary scene where young Kelly Callahan is at the beach with her brothers and she nearly drowns. Were it not for the quick thinking of bad boy, Luke, little 6-year-old Kelly would have drowned. This was the beginning of Luke's much needed friendship with Dan Callahan and the family he would share with Luke.
Luke never stood a chance. He was the child of an abusive family who was tortured and scarred by his stepfather. He was forced to do unspeakable crimes, until the Callahans took him in as one of their own. As an adult, Luke did what he could to make the family proud...he joined the Air Force as a top pilot.
When fate steps in with a cruel turn of events, everything changes. Can Luke survive what he has been through? Will Kelly be able to open his eyes to the future? You MUST read this wonderful story of spirit and strength!
Tamara Ferguson takes hold of your heart with the characters in Two Hearts Surrendered. I was hooked from page one. The emotions of the characters had me feeling what they were experiencing. Luke's fear and anger, Kelly's love and loyalty, and the despair that they feel when they are giving up are the dominant feelings. I was entranced by their story and was anxious to jump into another Tamara volume as soon as I finished this one!!!!

Here’s a story about young innocent love turning into strong forever love. The main characters are Luke and Kelly, who meet when they are young children. Even at 6 years old Kelly knew Luke was “the one”, and at 13 years old, Luke couldn’t deny there was a connection with Kelly but he knew that they were too young to have such a love connection. Years pass and while they remain friends, their connection just gets stronger. The two must overcome many mountains to even remain friends, let alone move on and try to be something more. Lucking Tamara Ferguson has made these characters strong willed and determined!
Kelly is not only beautiful but super smart as well. She seems like a generally happy person, no matter what situation she is in. Luke seems to be a tough kid who grows into his lanky body and learns what family, friendship and true love really means. They balance each other well.
I love the writing of Ferguson. The words flow smoothly while the characters beg to be loved by the reader. This is a stand-alone but there are so many interesting secondary characters I truly hope for more in this series. I felt very little angst while visiting Dragonfly Pointe and Crystal Rock. There were times when I wanted to hug Luke for the troubles he had faced as a child and then those he would face as an adult. I felt like Kelly was the bff we all wanted to have.
I hope you enjoy this book too!

Steve cleared his throat to get Kelly's attention. "I know that it's not really any of my business, Kelly - but what you really need to do, is to just give Luke a little more time. Once he begins to get stronger, and he feels better, it should improve his mental state. And seeing a shrink should help. I know this from personal experience with other patients. Let's just wait until he's ready."

I received my copy of this eBook in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I am a sucker for the injured soldier romances! I pictured these two - Kelly and Luke - rather like Logan and Veronica, of Veronica Mars fame, though with a tighter relationship in their backstory (and certainly more siblings on Kelly's side than Veronica had!) and history together. You could feel the love radiating off the two of them, the electric spark of attraction that had been growing and brewing beneath the surface for them for years.

From the moment he saved a six year old Kelly from drowning, it was pretty apparent that she was special to Luke, to everyone who mattered. That her sisters marriage brought the two of them back together was heaven sent, though the timing could have been better as it was merely hours before Luke was set to return to the Air Force ending his leave. It was enough of a motivator to bring the two back together, despite Kelly's confessions years prior on the same beach near Dragonfly Pointe.

After a few quiet moments, he finally spoke. "You don't know how many times I've thought about coming back here, Kel... how many times that I've dreamed of you when I was overseas."

Her eyes jerked immediately to his. "Oh, Luke. You've never said those kinds of things to me before." She closed her eyes. "Don't tell me you're finally going to admit your feelings for me now-when I've worked so hard trying to get over you? You shot me down pretty good a few years back."

"You'd never believe how hard it was for me to say no to you."

I love when a couple seems to be falling together into something divine right at the very beginning! They'd had a friendship of sorts, based on her brother Dan's drive to help save a battered and abused young Luke in his teens, but it was also something familial. Like he was a fixture, big brother's friend that she'd always adored. Of course, shipping out at the end of the next day when they'd resolved themselves to be together would be their first hurdle. A man who had not had anything in his youth, nothing he was truly proud of or loved but the skill and the career that he had made for himself in the Air Force. Remind me of anyone?

Yeah... If you know me, and how much of a 'Team Logan' supporter I am, than you know how I feel about broken yet strong, caring men like that. I think that was one of the reasons this book did so well for. Luke Bryant was so compelling and soooo broken! His childhood had been shattered by abuse and then, when he finally feels like he has something to live for and something to dream about to come home to... It's all ripped away from him through a devastating combat injury. He's left burned, more scarred than ever physically, and now with the added prospect of life without one of his legs. You know he must feel like something so shattered and broken, and Kelly, who was seven years his junior couldn't possibly be interested in being with him now that he is so disfigured. Who would want to dump that kind of life on anyone? She had thought he would be whole, or as whole as he could have possibly been physically, not what he'd become - the useless, helpless mass he'd become. He'd lost his sense of worth, and he'd lost faith in the strength of the beautiful woman who wanted to spend her life by his side.

Jake hesitated, staring intently at Kelly. "Well, are you strong enough to handle this? That's why Luke's probably never thought he was good enough for you, sweetie - he's putting on a front to protect himself, from the hurt he'd be feeling, if you rejected him the way he was now."

"Nothing's gonna ever make me stop loving Luke," she answered fiercely. "That's the way it's always been, and that's the way it's always gonna be."

Time and patience is all it takes. Kelly refuses to give up on him, and the payoff in the end is so rewarding!

A wonderful love story about perseverance in the face of adversity and that even though someone is injured or disabled, that doesn't make them any less the person that they were before. Love can overcome all obstacles with a little faith and a lot of hard work. Four stars and two enthusiastic thumbs up!

They met as kids, fell in love but he leaves for the military. She has always loved him, maybe since the day he rescued her, will he ever let her in. He's broken and pushing away from those who love and support him in this story of wounded heros. She stays in the wings but stays close. All she has to do is break through his barriers. A good story about love conquering all, family and support, and a few twists to keep it interesting. My first read by this author and I know I will be reading more.

Luke, a young boy with a troubled past sought a moment's reprieve from his step-father's abuse. He ran until his legs could carry him not further, and straight into the arms of fate. He saved the life of a young girl, but never could he have imagined the woman she would become, or her importance. No matter how hard he tries to resist. But just as he embraces the inevitable he is called back to war, and the man who returned was not the same as the one who left.

Two Hearts Surrendered by Tamara Ferguson is a beautifully written romance with believable and engaging characters. You can't help but be drawn in and invested in the plight of the characters. The author's style creates a perfect balance between vivid imagery and great interaction. Being the first work I have read by this author I can honestly say she has captured my attention and I will be reading some of her other work.

While reading, I found myself smiling one moment, crying the next, then laughing at other moments. It definitely takes you through a variety of emotions. This story did a good job of giving us a glimpse into someone going through PTSD, as well as what their loved ones go through. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to reading book two.

Two Hearts Surrendered is the first book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Series by Tamara Ferguson. This is such an inspiring, heartbreaking, moving and beautiful story- that really tugged at my heart. This story spans across about 17 years in the life of the main characters- as we meet them as children and follow them into adulthood.
As the story opens we meet Luke Bryant at age 13. He has had a difficult childhood; his life has seen much tragedy and trauma. He carries a burden that weighs heavily on his young shoulders.… He is at his favourite place, contemplating life and people watching. Luke had always been drawn to Dragonfly Pointe ever since he was a child. It was the one place in earth that made him feel free, calm and like anything was possible. It was his haven from the storms in his life.

“For some crazy reason, Luke had always been drawn to this beach. Probably because deep down inside he knew- all the stories and superstitions were true- Dragonfly Pointe was magic. It was the only place in this world where he seemed to fell alright. Here, he could forget about the deep, dark problems in his life, and chill out just long enough before returning home.”

Not far away, a group of siblings plays in the sand. He notices that the younger sister Kelly Callahan has wandered off and was now a fair way out in the water, struggling, completely out of her depth and slowly drowning. Luke runs down the beach and rescues her. His selfless act of heroism cements a powerful bond between them.

“At that moment, the sun broke through the clouds. A beam of light shone down brightly on Kelly, leaving her backlit by a smoky-blue haze. But the strange thing about it was, Luke wasn’t seeing her as a pretty little six-year old girl anymore. He was envisioning her as the beautiful woman she’d undoubtedly be someday….”

From the moment Luke saves her, Kelly becomes more and more infatuated with him as the years pass. But because of their age gap, Kelly keeps her feeling to herself. On her 18th birthday, she decides to tell Luke how she feels and is very hopeful that he feels the same. Luke has always admired Kelly and secretly loved her too- but because of his past he thought she was much too good for the likes of him- she deserved much better than him and he could never be good enough for her. So he tells her he doesn’t feel the same, crushing her feelings in the process.
Luke had joined the Air Force and had achieved his dream of becoming a pilot. While home on leave from deployment overseas, he decides to accept an invitation to Kelly’s sister’s wedding. When he lays eyes on Kelly he is mesmerised by the beautiful, self-assured woman she has become. He ends up confessing his feelings for her and they spend a magical night together, giving in to electrifying chemistry between them.

“….that’s exactly what Kelly had cast over him, he’d realised when he’d travelled the war torn paths in Syria and Iraq- a spell. And even though he hadn’t lived in Crystal Rock for several years, it’d seemed like all he’d done overseas was dream about Dragonfly Pointe and coming home to Kelly…”

Their time together is fleeting as Luke has to report back for duty. They agree to stay in touch, as Luke is deployed overseas on an important mission. But as the weeks turn into months and there is still no word from him, Kelly is beside herself with worry. With the help of some friends, she discovers why she hasn’t heard from him- he has been badly wounded and has spent several months in hospital recovering from his injuries.
Kelly’s just wants to see him, to assure him that she loves him no matter what and is determined to help him in his recovery process. But once again, Luke has decided that he isn’t good enough for her, especially now- he feels his injuries make him a burden and he refuses to put that responsibility on Kelly. She wants to rush to his side, but he sends word, to her shock and dismay- that he doesn’t want to see her. Will Kelly finally let him push her away? Will Luke come to his senses and realise that Kelly’s love is exactly what he needs to keep him through his recovery process? Will Luke be able to put aside his guilt and issues, and leave the past behind so he can embrace a future with Kelly?
I always enjoy Ms. Ferguson’s stories and this one was no different. I got swept into this beautiful story and felt like I was experiencing it right alongside the characters. Ms. Ferguson tackled some sensitive issues, but managed to do so in a caring, considerate and informative manner. She also gives us a glimpse into the recovery process of a wounded warrior, a little of what they endure when things go awry while in service to their country- some of what they go through and the toll that has not only on them, but also their family and friends.
Luke and Kelly are really wonderful characters, who are well written and endearing. I was charmed by them and was cheering them on from the sidelines.
This is fantastic start to what I am sure is going to be a wonderful series.

Thank you Ms. Ferguson!

'Two Hearts Surrendered’ is a stand-alone book as well as Book 1 of a 3 book series entitled ‘Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance’.
Two Hearts Surrendered centres around Luke Bryant and Kelly Callahan. When Kelly is six years old and Luke is thirteen, he saves her from drowning. For both of them there is an immediate connection that will stay with them into their future. Kelly’s older brother Dan (who should have been watching her but was talking with friends nearby) tells Luke he owes him a ‘big one’ and he will now stick to Luke like glue. Luke has problems: he is regularly physically abused to the point of being slashed with a knife by his step-father. His mother and his younger sister are both dead, so until Dan sticks to him like glue Luke has nowhere else to go. He spends the rest of his growing up years living with Kelly’s grandfather. Luke subsequently becomes a pilot and at the age of twenty seven he is sent to war in Iraq. It is when he arrives home on a leave that he finally admits his feelings for Kelly are more than just friendship.
Kelly Callahan from the moment of being saved by Luke has loved him. As she grows up her love for him deepens into a ‘true love’. At the age of eighteen she declares her love for Luke and is rebuffed by him. Luke can’t believe that someone as beautiful and smart as Kelly can really love him. When Luke comes home on leave for a wedding two years later and states that he loves her, she feels excited for their future together. However, Luke still has to return to war and things don’t go according to plan.
Will Luke still love her when he comes back? Will Luke’s psychological scarring from his past and his present spoil their future together? Will her love for him prove to be ‘real’ and everlasting no matter what happens?

Tamara Ferguson writes at a fluent steady pace. Her main characters are well developed and complex, so they are realistic and believable. I found the story a little predictable in places and couldn’t help but wonder if Kelly hadn’t had money (which she earned from modelling on the side) and was living on a more modest amount of money how she would have helped Luke. Also one of the characters seemed to have ‘a finger in lots of pies’ and so able to ‘pull lots of strings’. This made it a little less realistic for me which is why I can only give it four stars. I will definitely look for Tamara Ferguson’s other books though as she is an admirable author.

Two Hearts Surrendered
By Tamara Ferguson
5 Star Review

The book Two Hearts Surrendered by Tamara Ferguson is a 5 star book. I love military romances and this is an emotional journey not only for the characters but also for me. The author did a very good job dealing with PTSD and I felt she was very respectful to the journey of serviceman who comes home with injuries.

Luke Bryant and Kelly Callahan find each other at a young age. Luke saves her from drowning when he is 13 years old and she is 6 years old. Luke from the wrong side of town and the Callahan’s from the right side of town, Luke saving Kelly and become friends with her older brother gives him the chance to see how the other half live.

Luke comes from a family of violence and abuse, when he saved Kelly he was hiding from his step-father. He has an undeniable connection with Kelly but feels he is not worthy. He decides to go in to the military, enlisting into the Air Force.

Kelly is beautiful, sweet, smart, and strong. She has been connected to Luke since he saved her from drowning. Kelly turns 18 and decides to let Luke know how she feels about him but that doesn’t go as planned. Even though Luke feels the same about Kelly, he feels that his age and his past are not worthy of this beautiful person.

Fast forward a few more years, Luke and Kelly, meet again at Kelly’s sister’s wedding. They find that their connection is still there and is burning even brighter and hotter than before. They only have 24 hours together; Luke has to leave for a mission. Kelly pledges herself to Luke and promises to be there when her returns.

A month later after not hearing anything Kelly discovers why Luke is avoiding her. Will he be able to get past the trauma of his injuries? Will Kelly be able to handle the extent of his injuries? Will their love survive?

This book is tragic but it is also heart felt, amazing and tugs at the heart strings, it also offers hope; encouragement and shows love can survive. I am looking forward to reading more of the author’s books.

Two Hearts Surrendered, by author Tamara Ferguson, is the first book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance series. This book has a military influence, as these are warriors that are wounded in some way at some point and their fight to recover and, of course, a romance tied in to fit perfectly with the theme of each story. I had not previously read a book written by this author, so I was intrigued to learn about this author’s writing style and how they pulled their story together.

This story is Luke Bryant and Kelly Callahan’s. They met years ago with Luke just beginning his teenage years and Kelly just beginning at the age of six. Luke made quite the impression on Kelly and vice versa – those “impressions” stayed with each of them over the years. These are the makings to the start of an unforgettable love story. Years pass and finally, what they have both desired comes to pass… then fate deals a swift change to that plan causing a rift to crack through. Luke is now a wounded hero who feels he cannot be what Kelly needs or should have!

Luke wasn’t dealt a fair hand in life, that is evident in the synopsis of this story. Yet somehow, he forges ahead and makes goals for himself building himself into something stronger. He still has self doubts, but Kelly has a way about her that gives Luke glimmers of hope. Luke comes across as a true friend in this story, stronger than he thinks and it’s proven time and again as this story progresses. Kelly isn’t as weak as others think and she has the will to accomplish any and everything she desires.

Tamara Ferguson has written a wonderful military romance novella that gives hope with faith that love with be there will it’s needed and wanted. I enjoyed this story and am already looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

Two Hearts Surrendered is the first book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Series. It is a military romance.
Dragonfly Pointe is where magic happens…or so it is believed by the residents of the area. Most believe that you need only wish for something here and eventually you will have it.
Luke Bryant has a difficult time believing in the magic despite the fact that Dragonfly Pointe is where he feels safest and at his most calm. He has endured so much more than any one person should have to endure in his short, 13 year old life, but it does not stop him from rushing into danger to save the life of 6 year old Kelly Callahan.
Kelly Callahan has felt a connection to Luke since she was 6 years old and despite the fact that Luke has always had feelings for her, he feels unworthy of her and refuses to tarnish her with his past. Until the Magical Wedding of Kelly’s sister. The two just can’t seem to stay apart and finally share a beautiful night together with plans for a future together.
You soon learn that Kelly is more than just a beautiful, blonde bombshell. You learn that she is so much smarter than most give her credit for and her heart is just a beautiful, open and loving thing.
Tragedy strikes to change everything. Will Luke be able to allow others to love and care for him when he needs it most? Will he allow Kelly to be the woman she wants to be? Does Kelly have what it takes to deal with the tragedy? Will they find the happiness they both so richly deserve?
This book had all the feels for me. It was emotional, uplifting, loving, caring and even at times funny. Tamara’s descriptions of the landscape surrounding these two are beautiful and vivid. It brings you right into the scene superbly.

A 4 star read for Two Hearts Surrendered, Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance, Book 1 by Tamara Ferguson.
Growing up, Luke Bryant didn't have the easiest life. When his mother remarries, and then later is killed in a car accident with his little sister, Luke's life is changed forever. His body has taken beating after beating by his stepfather and his wounds and scars are almost impossible to hide. Not having many friends, he likes to stay out of the way. After a rather tough day, he is out at Dragonfly Pointe Lake where he sees little Kelly Callahan. He has always had a pull to her even at this young of an age. When he sees Kelly in the lake struggling, he rushes in to help her. Making it to her in time, he is glad that she is ok. When they make it back to shore, her older brother vows to have Luke's back from now on.
While home on a short leave from the Air Force, Luke attends Kate Callahan’s wedding hoping to see Kelly. A few years before, Kelly had told Luke how she felt about him, but thinking that she deserves someone better, he brushes her feelings off. Since that day, he hasn't been able to get her out of his mind. He knows that before he leaves for Iraq, he has to tell her exactly how he feels about her, with the hope that she still feels the same way about home. Finally all is right in the world, Luke and Kelly are together. With Luke back in the Middle East, Kelly knows that she won't hear from him for a while. When days turn into months, she has a bad feeling. Her brother shows up and tells her that there was an incident and Luke was injured. Her heart is shattered when he tells her that he doesn't want to see her or talk to her.
Will they be able to overcome everything and fight their way back to each other or is this the end for them?
I loved reading this book and I look forward to the rest of the books in this series.

Two Hearts Surrendered – Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 1 – by Tamara Ferguson 4 stars

This novella is set in Dragonfly Pointe where Luke Bryant (not THAT Luke Bryant, the country singer is actually Luke Bryan) and Kelly Callahan grew up. Luke and Kelly have always had a connection, she knew from the very first time she set her six year old eyes on him that he was the one for her. It’s a feeling she has never shaken.

Luke has joined the military and they meet up again at when he comes home and attends a family wedding. He looks very handsome in his uniform and he and Kelly share some special moments together. Luke’s visit is short and soon he is heading back to his deployment. Things will never be the same again.

This is the first Tamara Ferguson book I’ve read and there is obviously a lot of background for these characters and others that must have been told in previous books Ms. Ferguson has written. I felt a little left out of the loop when reading Two Hearts Surrendered, but could catch on easily enough once I figured out who was who.

I thought the topic of being a wounded warrior for our country was handled very well. Luke was surrounded by a great team of extremely patient people who were able to coax him back to his personality while giving him the treatments he needed. The way the transition was written allowed me to understand what Luke was feeling and the reasoning behind it. I very much enjoyed “meeting” Hawk’s girlfriend and I will be looking to see if her and Steve’s story has been written.

Two Hearts Surrendered by Tamara Ferguson is book one in her Two Hearts Wounded Warriors romance series. It is the first book by her that I have read, and I can say that I'm looking forward to more. The story told was beautiful, and it reminds us, or at least it did me of why having someone to care for us is important.

Kelly Callahan is only six years old when she meets Luke Bryant, but even at that young age there's something about him that “sticks” with her. Luke feels the same, and scolds himself for feeling like that about a child. He can't help it, it's not a perverted feeling, but one of attachment and care.

Many years later, fourteen to be exact; Kelly is a bridesmaid in her sister’s wedding and it just so happens that Luke is present. He is currently serving in the Air Force and was able to attend the wedding. He couldn't help but want to see her. She'd grown up to be a beautiful woman and had plans of talking to her. She too was wanting to see him but nervous about what would happen. A couple of years back she had confessed her feeling for him and he felt the same but the seven year difference was something he couldn't get over. Now that she was 20 it was different or at least he thought so.

Luke and Kel meet up again and start talking, things seem to be going in the right direction until Luke has to leave. It saddens Kelly but she says they can make it work. Deal, they can do it says Luke. Once Luke has returned to his base he has to be sent out to Iraq. Telling Kelly broke her heart, what comes next might just kill her.

No matter what happens Kelly is there and will always be. The love she has for Luke is immense and there's no keeping them away. Whatever journey he has to live, Kelly is there to walk beside him.

I really liked this story and can't wait to see what's to come.

5 stars.

Two Hears surrendered is book one in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series by Tamara Ferguson.

Luke Bryant saved a 6-year-old Kelly Callahan from drowning at Dragonfly Point and since that point they have shared something that neither one of them would act upon, growing up Luke always like Kelly but knew with his past, he would never be worthy enough for her. Luke comes home from war to attend the wedding of Kelly’s old sister, and sparks fly between them as they can’t help themselves, but Luke is only in for the day before he is deployed again.

Kelly Callahan, had the perfect life, with the perfect family, doing a job that she loves for her family business, and she is beautiful also. After he passionate night with Luke, Kelly is excited to see him again, so when Luke returns home a wounded warrior Kelly is devastated that Luke wants nothing to do with her, and is actively trying his hardest to avoid her.

Is one night all it takes? Is there bond from a young age enough to bring them back together? Is magic in the air? Can love survive?

Tamara Ferguson has started this series brilliantly, the passion you feel for the characters and the struggle that both face seem so real. Luke’s character has been portrayed brilliantly, as a man who feels he has lost it all at war and is not worthy enough of love, and then you have Kelly’s character who will do anything for love even if it means walking away, and at a young age she is old for her time. I was gripped by this book for page one, I loved the writing style, the way the book flowed and it was short but did not feel rushed. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. 5 stars from me.

Truly an awesome book. Kelly Callahan has always been a sweet, beautiful girl with a spark in her eyes. She has always been in love with the boy that saved her life when she was six years old. She was out swimming and was not supposed to go in the water alone but she did without her brothers paying any attention to her and almost drowned if it had not been for a caring boy who will always be in her heart.
Luke Bryant was out hiding from his step dad when he saw a sweet little girl and knew he had to do whatever it took to save her. He jumped in without thinking about anything but that beautiful princess. She was the prettiest little girl he had ever seen. They were at Dragonfly Pointe which was always magical and he knew that day he would always care about that sweet little girl. Luke went an enlisted in the military and went overseas to fight for our country. When he returned home and ended up going to a Callahan wedding he had no idea that he would run into the princess all grown up. She was even more beautiful than he ever imagined.
Such an amazing story about war, courage, and overcoming your fears. Luke had many battle scars and had to overcome dealing with that and learning to grow and accept things. Kelly Callahan knew what she wanted and she was determined to get it even if it meant waiting for the right time. This book just made my heart smile because how amazing people can be to help others.

Two Hearts Surrendered ( Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 1) by Tamara Ferguson
Five Stars

Two Hearts Surrendered is the first book in the Two Hearts Wounder Warrior Series and the first book I have read by Tamara Ferguson. This book was such a delight. The character descriptions were detailed and I felt like they were old friends. It doesn't hurt that I'm from Winter WI and know about some of the places that Tamara was talking about in the book. This was a fast read. I read the whole book in one sitting. It flowed so well, but it was over before I was ready. I can't wait to get into the next book in the series.

Kelly and Luke have been in love since they were kids, probably from the day when she was six and Luke rescued her from drowning. Luke was afraid to admit his feelings for Kelly because of the abuse and violence in his past. They grew up as friends and Luke became a pilot for the Air Force. When Luke came home on leave, he saw Kelly at her sister’s wedding and decided to confess his feelings for her before he was shipped over sea on assignment.

When he comes home as a wounded warrior, he doesn't want anything to do with Kelly or help getting better. The battle to get over his insecurities and get his life back is a long tough road. Will true love win out?

This author is now on my TBR list. I loved this story! I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series and the rest of Ms. Ferguson’s backlist. Amazing Book!!

Two Hears Surrendered is the first book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series. There are parts that are sweet, but some parts are heart breaking.

Kelly Callahan and Luke Bryant meet as kids. She is all six years old and as sassy as they come. He is thirteen and has had a pretty rough childhood with nobody to turn to. As he is sitting by the lake trying to get ahold of himself he sees someone alone struggling far out in the lake. He gets up without a second thought to go save them. He gets out there and gets Kelly calm enough to get her to land. That was the day his life started to change.

Flash forward fourteen years, Kelly is now twenty and a bridesmaid in her sister’s wedding. She looks up and there he is in his Air Force uniform looking just as good as he did if not better than the last time she saw him. After fighting this pull between them for years Luke finally tells her how he feels and so much more. He wants no secrets since he is getting deployed again.

He ends up getting severely injured and loses his best friend while overseas. After deciding to hide away from everyone he know he comes home to recover and see if he can move forward in his new normal.

This was a touching story about two soulmates and how no matter what happens they will always find their way back to one another.

After arriving at the beach thirteen year old Luke Bryant sees someone struggling in the sea. When he realises there is no Life-Guard around he plunges into the sea to save someone from drowning. Luke has had a rotten, traumatic and violent childhood and after being left with his step father after his mother’s death it only gets worse.

Even at six years old Kelly Callahan is a fashionista. She loves fashion like no other and always wants to look good. After being rescued from a life saving incident Kelly instantly feels a spark and an undeniable connection between her and her rescuer.

Kelly’s brother Dan and Luke become friends. Dan and his family and friends helps Luke out like no one ever has. Kelly is at her sister’s wedding and gets the surprise of her life when she spots the man who stole her heart, Luke. Luke has been in Iraq serving his country, but has returned home on leave and has been asked to attend the wedding. When he sees Kelly he realises just how beautiful she has become. Luke has to return to Iraq and has not been heard of for many months but after some searching he has been found but sadly he is not safe and sound. Finally Luke is coming home but sadly he is coming home with some very serious injuries. He’s feels he isn’t worthy of anyone’s love or self respect and is finding it hard to deal with the loss of not only himself for what he has become but with his friend. He is determined to do it all himself but just can not find the energy or willpower.

Will Luke finally begin to love himself so he can love someone else? Will he finally let others help him? Will his past be too much when he finally reveals the full extent of it? Willy Kelly be able to get through to the man she loves before it is too late?

This is a sad but sweet story but worth the read.
