Travis lays out a simple, approachable, and reproducible model of discipleship. The book is challenging and encouraging. Travis does an excellent job of reminding the reader that while pursuing Godliness and making disciples is our goal, it happens one day at a time. Every day is a new chance to grow in Christ-likeness and to make disciples of all nations. This books means so much to me because I’m a benefactor of the author being someone who not only writes these things, but who also lives them. I remember when it was me and a group of college guys that he was getting up early for and driving across town to meet with for breakfast to open up his Bible and teach us. Thank you Travis for helping others grow to love Jesus more through your faithfulness.

I appreciate Travis's work to help make disciples who make disciples. This will be a tool I use in my ministry moving forward.

One of his illustrations that really jumped out at me was about cookie cutters. In essence, if God didn't use a cookie cutter to create us, then why do we try to use them to create disciples? That's good. A great reminder that we have to look at the individual in front of us and help them start where they are currently.

God used this book, that illustration and Travis's teaching in Distinctive Discipleship to birth an initiative at our church called D1: Disciple One. I look forward to rolling this out at our church and the fruitfulness God will bring as we seek to go deeper with Him and others He places in our path.
