An Emotional Journey
I loved the way Aparna introduced her debut novel. It’s a collection of Flash fiction. I was amazed at the way she is able to bring out various emotions in me. The short reads are lyrical and deal with human emotions in various stages for their lives and relationships.

I love the genre of flash fiction as the author tries to convey whatever they wish to convey within a few lines.
This book, a collection of 32 flash fiction reads is a mix of poetic lines, prose and various emotions in each and every story. It's a varied mix of emotion conveyed through the pen of the author reaching straight to the heart of the reader.
I loved the writing style which felt quite poetic in places and also direct heart wrenching style.
While reading some of the stories I realised that i was holding my breath only when I reached the end of the story.
If you want to feel various emotions in a span of an hour then pick this book. A beautiful collection. If you love flash fiction as a genre then definitely pick this book up.

This Christmas, I gave myself a treat. I read this book of poems. And it was indeed a treat.
The poems are straight from the heart. Most of them are heart wrenching and make your heart go “Ouch!” But then there are a few of them which have an unexpected twist at the end, that make you laugh out loud too.
“Heartbroken” is a poem that talks about the angst of a mother of a special needs child. “Chained” speaks of a spirit that wants to fly while chained down with responsibilities. “Identity” talks about the person we are versus the person that others think we are.
I tried really hard to decide which my favourite poem was. I would choose one and then stumble upon another and say, “No this one is better.” In the end I just gave up because each of them was so beautiful that I loved them all.
A must read for anyone who loves poetry.

Loved the author's take on the many challenges, and she has handled a handful of titles beautifully namely: Ego, Waiting room, United, Ocean, Lonely. They gave me the goosebumps as each word can stir you from the inside.
This is her debut and she has shown great potential. Wishing her the best!

From the first flash fiction onwards you feel it. Yep, feel. Not read. And that's what comes out in this collection. The emotions. None of the stories longer than a page, some of these are so relatable and at least a couple, I know, hit me in the gut. The one thing you realize, is that these stories have come from the author's heart. It's a great book for a quick weekend read! Good luck to Rituparna for everything up ahead!

I finished reading this book in one go and really liked it!
For her first ever book, A. Rituparna has done a fabulous job. Smiles, sorrow, surprise... her writing invokes many emotions. I can even relate to some of the pieces she wrote. My favourites were Secret Surprise and Yours Truly.

Snippets of life
This book has some really beautiful heart wrenching pieces. Though flash fiction is not my cup of tea, I really enjoyed this book.

In full honesty, I read this book as a favor to my mom, who is friends with the author, but I was pleasantly surprised and ended up really enjoying it.
Overall Thoughts
This book was incredible. It's especially incredible how the author is able to paint such vivid imagery through only a few words. While the author said that her stories are based on both real experiences and conjecture, the emotion remains consistently strong throughout the stories. At times her words are raw and cutting, while at others, they are massaged.

The book is written as a series of short stories. They're not poems exactly, but they kind of look like it. At first, it takes a little getting used to, but after a few stories you come to realize that no other format works as good for each story. The hard periods, the few transition words, the powerful one-word sentences, all really add to the emotion you take away as you read each story.

I loved the book, in all its raw glory that elicited visceral reactions from its readers. It is a wonderful collection of thought provoking lines that will stay with you for a while after you scroll beyond the last page. Overall, an interesting read because it touches some emotional nerves of its readers, making them reflect on life in an otherwise fast-moving world!
