They betrayed him. They left him for dead. And… They killed his dog.

A shocking aerial attack hits the major cities of America.

On the same night, Butch Nolan wakes up in a Hollywood parking lot to find his dog Diesel lying dead beside him.

Nolan, star of the post-apocalyptic TV show Goliath, and former UFC heavyweight champion, knows he doesn’t have much time to find those responsible. The bombs are falling and America is on the brink of collapse.

But justice must be served.

An enraged Nolan climbs into Goliath, a spectacular Monster Bus-Tank and sets off to find and punish the dog killer.

He wants revenge.

And not even the end of the world will get in his way.

Nolan’s Ark is the first book in Armageddon Times, a brand new series from the author of After the End, The Future of London, and The Exterminators.

Before you start any book by Mark Gillespie (of whom I've been a major fan since reading WAXWORLD), turn off your phone, disconnect the doorbell, put the TV in the closet...cause you're not going to surface till that book is over. Oh, and forget sleep!

The world possesses many authors of Dystopiana and Apocalyptic fiction; but only one Mark Gillespie. NOLAN'S ARK, first of a new series, will turn you inside out and upside down, infuriated, weeping, grieving, astounded at both the depths and the heights of Humanity...and once you read about Gillespie 's Presidential character: like me, you'll be looking over your shoulder and pondering "What If?" I haven't been this powerfully impacted by Apocalypse since devouring Philip Wylie 's TOMORROW as a child (and decades later, that novel still terrifies me).
NOLAN'S ARK is the story of a hero and heroes, of humans trying to do right in the face of hell-on-Earth, but it's also the story of a Narcissist insane in the worst way possible; and it's scared me horrifically.

I'm pretty sure Mark Gillespie is now just writing the script that the USA is following...

Talk about predicting the future, a dystopian apocalyptic future with a despot at the helm.

Another exceptional book. Can't wait to read the second book in the series. Bring it on!

What an amazing start to this new series!
Such a well written plot and story line that had me hooked from the start.
The characters are so well fleshed out and are believeable.
Fantastic world building that adds real depth to this.
Such a fantastic dystopian read with action and suspense galore!
I can't wait to read the rest of these!!!!

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Having read several of Mark Gillespie’s series, I would say with his new Armageddon Times series he has crafted one of the most original post-apocalyptic series that I have read. Nolan is a sort of likeable character with plenty of rough spots, maybe even failings, but he is loyal. Nolan’s Ark was one of those stories that was very hard to put down, it keeps you right on the edge of your seat wondering what’s next to befall Nolan. If you are looking for a post-apocalyptic story with a very original premise, give this a try, I’m betting you will be hooked by the end.

What a great read! Butch Nolan, the hero of the hit post-apocalyptic TV series is at the studio for a promotion attended by the US President when an aerial attach on US happens. As he tries to get everyone safely into the Monster Bus-Tanks, he is knocked out and his dog shot. When he comes to, he climbs into Goliath, the only remaining MBT, with revenge on his mind. Well written, fast paced and great characters. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Fantastic

Action packed, lighting fast story line. You got to love a guy who will take on the government for his dog. And now hopefully Butch's next chapter will be published soon.

Then you'll be hooked for
the rest of the series.

**** SPOILER ALERT ****
From page one Gillespie puts you on the edge of your seat in "Nolan's Ark: ( Armageddon Times Book 1)" and doesn't let you relax until page last. Along the way the author displays great skill on world building and character development. This is my first Introduction to Gillespie's writing and I'm hungry for another taste.
I recommend this non-zombie centric apocalyptic tale. While mentioned in passing, not a zombie in sight! I can hardly wait for the second installment of the series to see what Nolan and krew will do next.
In the interest of transparency: I was given a review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review.
It is my own honest opinion.

I had read and thoroughly enjoyed Mark’s “After the End” trilogy, so I gladly accepted an ARC for this book.  Mark’s books are easy to read, with vivid descriptions and interesting characters.  The reader gets drawn into the story as the suspense builds.  Although it is entertaining on its own, this book is obviously not meant to be a stand-alone story.  There are back-story issues to be revealed, such as, who bombed the cities and how the corrupt president was involved, but we’ll find out as the series unfolds.  I’m looking forward to reading the next book.  I bought a copy on its release, to support this deserving author.

Bombs are falling all over the US. On a parking lot Rage kills Nolan's dog (he obviously never watched John Wick) and then drives away in a MBT (Monster-Bus-Truck). Nolan has one of those too and goes after the killer. On his way he picks up a couple of cats and dogs, a skinny black kid and four superheroes. A very entertaining dystopian novel and not too unrealistic these days.
ps: Rage is the president of the US waiting for impeachment and Nolan is the star of a Zombie show on TV.

Boring

This story sounded like something that I would enjoy reading, bit was I disappointed. The beginning of the book just dragged on and on and on and on. The author didn't tell me who attacked America, or why. Didn't say why the president was so unpopular, we had to guess at everything. Not a book I would recommend, and that is not a sentence I use very often.

A muscled romp

Logistics do nothing to impede the flow of the narrative, it marches on regardless. After a while the weakness of the plot is submerged in action. Not a thinking man's book just a muscled romp.
