Carla Neggers is the New York Times bestselling author of the Sharpe & Donovan series featuring Boston-based FBI agents Emma Sharpe and Colin Donovan, and the popular Swift River Valley series set in the small, fictional New England town of Knights Bridge. With many bestsellers to her credit, Carla loves to write now as much as she did when she climbed a tree at age eleven with a pad and pen and spun stories perched on her favorite branch.

A native New Englander, Carla and her husband divide their time between their hilltop home in Vermont, a sofa bed at their kids' places in Boston and various inns, hotels and hideaways on their travels, frequently to Ireland.

The stories were cute and heart-warming but I felt like I had read the two before because they were so similar to other books I've read in this genre. I wish something unique would've been incorporated, gave something to each of the stories to make them stand out. I didn't enjoy the dulled-down humor. It was very childish and wasn't cohesive with the characters. As far as cursing, the stories would've been way better if they had just come out and said the word. Again, cute stories to keep you occupied, but nothing special.

Very predictable read and did not find myself too interested. I finished the book because my grandmother and mother had read it and liked it. It was not too terrible but not on my list to recommend to others.
