I made a huge mistake... I fell for my brother's best friend.
Forbidden but so exciting... He was totally off-limits. And my brother would kill both of us. But we're both adults now. And I'm a widowed single mom. But he needs me and my brother more than ever. Because him and his dad are in grave danger. And my brother is the only one who can help.
But will he, knowing his best friend already claimed me?
This is a story about Marcie who is a widower and mom to a precious 7 year old, Alex and Keith her brother, Barry’s best friend. Marcie has been taking accounting classes to earn her degree and is almost done. After moving him and living with her parents she is ready to rent a place just for her and Alex. When Barry hears that the new place needs work he hires Keith who is a carpenter with his father to fix it up. When these two get together they are sparks and Marcie is confused as Keith was mean to her when they were younger as Barry threatened Keith to stay away from her. As Keith does the work he and Marcie grow closer and share an unforgettable kiss that leads to then dating. When Keith’s dads secret is out, owing money to a bookie Keith gets help from Barry and then things are turned upside down as the threat to his father from the bookie gets more intense and Marcie gets put in the middle. Keith gets help again from Barry and they come up with a plan with the hope they can rescue Marcie. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Her brothers best-friend is perfect for this single mom.
This was an enjoyable read. It is my first time reading Ava Storm and found she did a great job with building her characters so they complimented each other and had something relatable to hook the reader. I loved Alex! So much character and spunk in that little boy, he brought a lot of fun to this story. We start off hot and heavy with the prologue but the actual story has a slower build-up which is nice to get to know the players a bit before they fall all over each other. Great first story!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
A very good and enjoyable romance by a new author. I like the personalities of the characters from Barry’s overprotectiveness towards his sister Marcie and her son Alex, to Keith’s obvious interest in Marcie and his deep bond with his Dad, to Alex’s exuberance in all things. It is a great cast and they compliment each other very well. I appreciate how the story builds with hope, with love and with suspense to where it unfolds putting all the pieces into place and creating a very happy ending. I really enjoyed this story by a new author to me. This story is full of deliciously steamy scenes, sizzling chemistry. I loved Keith and Marcie together, they were amazing. There are twists and turns to keep you guessing a little suspense thrown in. Great read, and look forward to reading more from her. I received a copy of this book.
This was a really great book. The story line is great and the author knows how to keep your interest. You have a woman who had a crush on her brothers best friend, who also had a crush on her also but was warned by the brother not to mess with his sister. Then years later they meet again and fall in love. Great book!
This is a well-written forbidden brothers best friend romance, there is plenty of drama and intrigue within the romance and emotion flying between Keith and Marcie. Highly entertaining, I will definitely read more by this author.
I don't think I have ever read a book from Ava Storm and I really like her writing style. This is a great story from start to finish. There were more twists and turns than I was expecting which I love. I also love a dual point of view! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
