There's only so much one woman can take...Everything is going wrong for Kat Matthews.
Overweight. Drinking far too much. Career going nowhere fast. One failed marriage already behind her. She's never been this unhappy before, and to top it all off she's now being bullied at work by two girls young enough to be her daughters'. Kat has no idea why it is her, and her alone, they are targeting.
To say things are bad would be an understatement. However, when the bullying escalates and Kat is pushed to the edge, one thing is for sure - nothing will ever be the same again...
Don't Push Me is a new, twisty, psychological thriller which readers will find hard to put down.
Ewan McGregor lives in Glasgow, Scotland with his wife Tricia, young son Aaron and brand new baby daughter Ayla Rose.
His children's books 'Frankie Sparrow: Private Investigator' and 'Frankie Sparrow and the Crinklebottom Curse' are out now. His first psychological thriller 'Don't Push Me' has also just been released. The books are completely different!
Initial rating two stars; added a third for first effort
Positives: the plot was well woven. I believed the characters were real. Not so much?: Too much repetition of lines!? The same line shows up here, and again five pages later. Distracting. And, the book is already short, so eliminating these surplus lines would have cut twenty pages. I did like Kat. The evil people were well described. I will read another of Mr . McGregor's books to see how he's progressed. Good luck to you!
The plot was entertaining and clever, although I was expecting a twist in the investigation at the end that didn’t happen. It was just too easy for Kat to plant all the evidence against Stephen and get away with everything. I was hoping the detective would discover the lies about Kat being Kirsty’s mother, the bullying etc... I think it would have been a more compelling ending. A lot of repetition of lines and thoughts, the book could have been much shorter.

This book was pretty good. The first couple of chapters seemed a little unsure of themselves but the author came into his own as it progressed through the story. I have to admit I only read it based on a hilarious review I read where someone left just one star because they were offended by a *fictional* cat being killed early on in the book. Proves what a fool that person is for taking such offence to a pretty relevant part of the plot development that they deleted a book they’d paid for!

I was overjoyed when I won this book as a prize in a Bookstagram raffle. If you're searching for a read under 200 pages or an introduction to this genre, I highly recommend checking out this book.
The story is told from the perspectives of an anonymous narrator and Kat Matthews, and it's a thrilling cat-and-mouse tale that will keep you hooked from start to finish. The book's pacing is lightning-fast but easy to follow and incredibly entertaining.
Although I could predict the conclusion from about halfway through, it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the book.
Overall, it's a dramatic read that I'm sure you'll enjoy as much as I did.
Kat Mathews is being bullied at work she drinks every night to escape her pain. One failed marriage, a mother in a nursing home and bullied by two younger woman at work. Kat is not sure why they are homing in on her. Her only comfort is her son and cat. With the bullying escalates and Kat is pushed to the edge. Everything changes.
This thriller is full of twisted and will keep you on edge.
Don’t know if this is THE Ewan McGregor, but an enjoyable read nonetheless. I found it hard to put down and could relate to the characters. I don’t know what I was expecting at the end but it was an eye opener. Hope he writes lots more and I look forward to some more escapism.
Quite an amusing book, with interesting characters. Although I guessed within the first few pages who was bullying Kat, that was not really important to the story!. Worth a read.
My first Ewan McGregor read and was hooked from start i would of read it sooner than my time but housework and other stuff gets in the way. But very good read, highly recommend 👌
An accidental murder and the coverup… It was an interesting storyline and I thought that she was going to be revealed in nearly every chapter… Takes place in Scotland. RECOMMENDED
This gripped me right from the start, every page was exciting and I was wanting more and more to read and to quickly get to the next page and I couldn’t get enough of it. Ewan has an amazing talent in his writing……BUT…… I was so saddened by the ending as it let the whole book down. I hope you write more psychological thrillers, take time with the ending 🙂
This story had potential but you can tell that this was a first novel. A few times I felt myself reading the same sentence or passage sometimes only a few paragraphs after the first one and then would reappear a few pages later. I did like the small chapters, makes it easy to read a few pages in between other tasks.
I had some sympathy with the main character but this quickly faded as the story progressed. I disliked most of the characters to be honest.
Overall, a decent book but needs tweaking and proof-reading! May try more of his books in the future.
