It’s 1881 in Oregon, and Becca Wilson is back from the university only long enough to bury her brother. And avoid Seth Blake. Becca dreads seeing her girlhood crush to whom she confessed her love before she went off to college. Embarrassed by her childish behavior, she can only hope Seth has forgotten and will see her as a woman. She plans to return to school as soon as possible and make a life for herself.

Rumors of ghosts, accidents at the camp, and overheard conversations convince Becca that her brother’s death was no accident. Despite evidence that she’s the next target, she puts her own feelings and college aside to stay and uncover the truth.

Seth is happy to see Becca, but as a grown woman she’s a stranger to him, stirring up feelings he can’t identify. When he finds a piece of evidence implicating him in Thomas’s death, he struggles with helping Becca find answers while keeping her from learning he could have prevented it. As the stakes get higher, Seth must keep both of them alive long enough to offer a future to this grown woman he’s fallen in love with.

Becca Wilson is a fiery independent lady, but she more than meets her match in Seth Blake; owner of a logging camp in a growing town called Reidsville. As sparks fly between them, a sinister plot threatens their future and the people they love.
This is a heart-stopping book with intense suspense and vivid storytelling. This book was engrossing from page one to the very end. I could not put it down. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series!

Coming Home is the first book I've read by this author. Jennifer Vander Klipp's book is set in the logging camp town of Reedsville, OR in the late 1800's. This book is full of sparks between the hero Seth Blake and heroine Becca Wilson. In fact, there is a lot of it, but nothing is actually done about them until later in the book. The book has a slow start to it but it picks up speed about the middle of the story.

Seth Blake owns the logging camp, things are happening that make him suspicious. Or to make look guilty. There's also talk and rumors about ghosts which I'm not a believer in and the writer clearly shows it. Things definitely heat up in the town when someone comes to town to start terrible. And there are enemies is Seth's camp.

Becca comes back to town after leaving four years to make her way in college. She's a stubborn and independent young woman. She's always loved Seth.

Between Seth and Becca, and those they love - things are forgiven, resolved, and friendships are forged stronger.

I liked this story about Seth and Becca. Becca reminded me of myself - I can be quite stubborn. I think I would have liked it more if the action was a bit more stronger towards the beginning of the story. Overall, it was well-written. The author did a superb job.

Coming Home: The Route Home: Book 1 had my attention from page one and kept me engaged in the story up until the end. The book has it all, romance, action, and suspense.

Becca Wilson is coming home to her community after the accidental death of her brother, Thomas, at his logging business. Thomas's business partner is Seth Blake. Becca grew up tagging along behind Thomas and Seth but she fell in love with Seth and before she left for college she told him she loved him. Becca is returning home after years of being away embarrassed by what she said to Seth.

Seth feels his negligence could have prevented Thomas's death so he vows to care for her in Thomas's absence. He never intended to fall in love with her, but she is not the little girl she was when she boarded the stage that took her off to college.

Jeremiah McCormick is a crooked investor who has his sights set on owning Seth's logging business and he has employed tactics that are less than honorable to try and get Seth to sell to him or put him out of business. He has targeted both Seth and Becca to achieve his goal. As Seth tries to protect Becca, the two fall deeper and deeper in love.

Vander Klipp does a great job of pointing readers to Christ through gentle passages of scripture and reminders to the characters of Who really is in charge of their lives. I just loved this book and highly recommend it to all. It has the ability to appeal to all types of readers because it features romance, action and suspense.

Coming Home, written by Jennifer Vander Klipp, is the first book I've read by this author but hopefully not the last.
I think my favorite is definitely, Seth! Seth is one of those down to earth hard working guys who knows what he wants and is willing to do most anything to do it. He works hard, protects those he loves, loves with great devotion. Vander Klipp took this character and developed him from a young man to a full blown man within the pages of Coming Home.
One of the quotes I thought was great was when Seth was talking to his father about his parents marriage and his father says, "It takes work and the result of that work is what you remember." Seth thought his parents had the best marriage ever and it was exactly what he wished for if he would ever marry. What an awesome way of looking at marriage and love!!
I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I would recommend it to anyone who likes nice clean historical fiction with a Christian message. Follow Becca and Seth as they learn to trust God for their safety and security while they are trying to figure out what is going on with their jointly owned logging mill. Becca's brother and Seth's partner, Thomas, was killed in an accident at the mill. But that was just the first accident. Many more followed. But Becca and Seth are both determined to get to the bottom of these mysterious accidents.

Home at Last

In 1880's Oregon Becca came home to bury her brother but stayed to help his partner, Seth, protect their logging business that was being threatened. This story revealed the hardships and struggles in pioneer towns caught up in the plan of an evil character. The author showed strong character development and included elements of faith, trust, honesty, and romance to make a happy ending despite the hard losses. Looking forward to continuing this series.

A great historical romance read

I really enjoyed this book. It has just the right amount of romance with enough of another storyline to make this story fit together. Her characters were well developed and you just had to know things would come out well in the end. I cant wait to read the next book in the series.

Coming Home, by Jennifer Vander Klipp, is the first book in The Route Home series. Set in Oregon in the late 1800’s, Coming Home, is an enjoyable piece of inspirational historical fiction. The woodsy, small town setting adds charm to the novel, and the well-crafted characters are interesting and believable. The added elements of mystery and danger set in motion by a ruthless villain move the plot along nicely and add balance to the blossoming romance that gives the story its heartwarming tone. This book is well-written, well-researched, and very enjoyable to read. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys escaping into the pages of good historical fiction novels, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series when it is released.

This book was filled with a whole lot of sweet characters that I really liked and wanted to see happy. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like I really got to know them on more than a surface level, and I was never sure which way they were going to react in a certain situation, which made it hard to connect with them the way I wanted to. I didn't understand Becca's sudden decision to stay at home after spending so many chapters determined to go back, or how she leaped to the (admittedly correct) conclusion about who was behind the trouble at the logging operation. Also, the villain confused me at points--especially when he confessed to something that no one had evidence to tie him to--I really couldn't figure out why he'd do that.

There were some historical inconsistencies in the dialogue that threw me a bit, and some bits in the setting that just didn't seem plausible--for example, the town is big enough to have a bank and a hotel, but they don't have a sheriff? That didn't seem quite right...

Overall, the characters were sweet (I may have actually loved Josh as much as I did Seth), and the Christian message was strong, but I just didn't quite fall in love the way I wanted to. 3 stars

Content--a woman is assaulted and threatened with rape (the attacker gets as far as unbuttoning his trousers); mentions of deaths; mentions of various superstitions; sabotage, vandalism, and arson; mentions of wounds and injuries (not graphic); kissing (not descriptive but sometimes passionate); a man mentions helping his wife undress

This author takes the familiar story of a young girl falling for her older brother's best friend and reworks it with a few twists. Becca Wilson leaves college near the end of her senior year when her only brother is killed in a logging accident. Back in her small hometown she faces her brother's business partner, Seth Blake, the man she's always loved. As Seth realizes Becca has grown into a lovely woman, he wrestles with guilt over her brother's death, feeling he's to blame. He also has trouble with more "accidents" at the logging site and growing hostility among the townspeople who are stirred up by a shrewd investor who wants to buy out Blake's company. Becca and Seth must navigate the rocky road of romance while dealing with real danger and threats. Will all their work and sacrifice be for nothing?

I loved this book. The story is a combination of wonderful characters, an engrossing story line and some mystery that pulled me in from the first pages and kept me reading to see what was going to happen next in the lives of Becca and Seth. The author also did an excellent job of capturing the spirit and feel of the town of Reedsville, Oregon in the late 1800's. This is the first I have read by this author, and I certainly look forward to reading more by her and will be looking forward to the next book in the series.. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, and the opinions expressed are my own.

Out of tragedy comes a love story set in early Oregon and is one wild ride. Becca comes home for the funeral of her brother and finds herself even more in love with his best friend and co-owner of the logging company, Seth Blake. This is a wonderful small town romance with lots of intrigue and mystery thrown in.

A historical romance. Seth and Thomas are partners in a logging company until Thomas is killed. Thomas's sister Becca returns home for the first time in many years, intending only to bury her brother before leaving again. Instead, she ends up staying on.

Who knew what lengths would be taken to get the lumber camp as his own. Bullying done by Jeremiah McCormick goes way too far.
This book will hold your attention from page 1.

I saw that I was only 45% through this book I put it aside. If your favorite read is romance you will like this book. I occasionally read romance if it is under 200 pages but this story is much longer. Sorry I can't give it a better review. I might recommend this to someone who enjoys pure romance. The author does try to add and element of mystery but it isn't strong enough for the reader to wonder 'who done it' and keep reading to find out.
