After decades as a police detective, Jaxon Jennings has seen it all: murder, bank robbery, the Russian Mafia—you name it.

So, the veteran cop and part-time private eye barely blinks when a distraught man hires him to catch his cheating wife in the act. Jaxon knows he can do this job in his sleep—and soon learns the husband is cheating, too.

But what starts as a routine case of infidelity quickly snowballs into a killing spree. Someone—obviously a pro—murders the husband, his wife, both of their lovers, and a growing list of victims who don’t seem connected to the case at all.

Jaxon has no idea why they’re dead, who killed them, or how he can stop the bloodshed. And new bodies are piling up every day.

Together with his longtime partner, a couple of hard-charging rookie detectives, and a shadowy figure from his past, Jaxon must race against time and a trained killer who’s now targeting his own family, including his four-year-old daughter.

In this, his latest nail-biting thriller, author Richard C Hale returns with Jaxon Jennings’s toughest case yet. Jaxon might be getting older, but he’ll use all his experience, his instinct, and guts to make sure the killer’s latest victim is his Dead Last.

Jaxon Jennings is back !!! And boy did I miss this series. Always action packed, always a page turner.
While this is part of an ongoing series, you can read it as a stand-alone, then go back and read them all so you don’t miss a minute of the action
I can’t wait to see what is next ....
Thank you to the publisher and author for my advanced reading copy in exchange for my honest review

Wow, Jaxon Jennings is back and up to his neck in a domestic/marital problem investigation that blossoms into a case that includes assassins, some new police department characters that are easy to like but have some serious character flaws. To say this story is action packed, doesn’t do justice to this story. I believe this is my favorite of the Jaxon Jennings stories, it had so much going on that I couldn’t put it down until I had read the final words. I received an advance review copy and chose to provide this review.

Know your enemies

Another thrilling novel by this author. He weaves the lives of his main characters into the story which makes the readers feel as though they know them. An exciting mystery with a surprise ending.

Good read

Having read the previous 7 books back to back there is always the possibility that the characters become stale and predictable, not here though. Another really good installment in the Jaxon Jennings series.

Last Two

I failed to write a review after the last book so I am doubling up. I love the characters and the stories and am enjoying the Jason Jennings series... Looking forward to the next one. Thanks Richard Hale for the hours of pleasure.

Dead

Not what expected was a great book and nothing in the early chapters would lead you to the outcome. This opens up a whole new direction to go with the characters

I absolutely love this Jaxon Jennings book. It was action packed and had so much going on and it gets straight into it right at the beginning. There are new detective characters in the book and the story also connects some previous books as well.
I couldn't put it down. I had to know what happened next. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next one.
If you have never tried any books from Richard C Hale, I would definitely recommend it! You won't be disappointed. I have read them all so far.
I was sent an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

The latest Jaxon Jennings thriller, this was a great read, though full of a lot more death and destruction than usual. I really enjoyed it, and would definitely recommend it to both fans of the series and of thrillers generally (although it's not a standalone book, everything that's ongoing storyline is explained). I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Jaxon and co!
NB I received a complimentary copy of the book but I always give an HONEST review, based wholly on my own opinions
