With a dangerous new enemy on the horizon, Nova's forced to get unexpected help to fight back. The future of Hades might be at stake—and now Elysium Academy's on the line, too. Alliances rise, friendships are put to the test, and the very balance against Chaos comes into question...
This series just keeps getting better and better and this latest addition takes off with a bang! Despite wanting normalcy Nova and her gang get tons of action, adventure, suspense and mystery as the guardians have disappeared and chaos grows stronger! Will they save the day?
Well something is defiantly going on and it seems like the fate of the world is in the hands of a bunch of Demon teenagers lol. Nothing unusual there then. The characters are good but I feel the books are getting shorter and shorter but the author is trying to fit just as much into each on. I'd like more time to absorb the humor and spend time in the world.
This series for me is a guilty pleasure. I find myself drawn into nova's world and I just love the demon aspect so much. This series has been one of my favourites in the demon and angels genre. The sissy Nova and gloomy raines have a way of intriguing you and wanting to see more. As soon as I started this book, I finished it. I loved seeing the gang take on this mission and watching the story and relationships grow between the characters. The developments in the plot thicken in this instalment and I am eagerly awaiting the final book in the series. Love love love! Fun read that will have you invested instantly!
By the gods, this series is so meta it hurts. In a good way. Yes, lots of convenient things happen but Nova, wonderful snarky Nova, comments on every single one of them. She and her BFFs give me life, even if this episode is a bit more disjointed than the others as high-jinks vie with slower interludes.
(Very mild spoilers for the earlier books coming up)
Y'see, trying to prevent the biggest, baddest demon of them all from taking over the world ain't easy. It involves roping in old enemies, rounding up McGuffins, avoiding nasty nameless enforcer-types... then hanging with your Resistance crew/boyfriend/girlfriend until such a time as Important Things happen.
Oh, and lessons, but when Chaos is eating up the world they're a little less involved. I was a bit sad that some of my favourite lessons were rushed, but we do get to find out more about demon familiars and just how inept demons are at understanding the guardians role in the world.
The thing I really (still) love is that the slow-burn romance doesn't go back and forth in big arguments. If they were still raging at each other and having inconvenient reasons not to be together (other than the end of days) I'd have given their relationships a big stamp saying "Doomed". OK, so Raines is a little smushy, and while it's kinda cute having watched them get together Nova's not gonna let him get away without a little sarcastic banter (she really does contain multitudes).
This book feels a lot more breezy than earlier episodes what with some of the action feeling a bit rushed , but everything's in place for the ending.
We're in the calm before the storm. It's a setup for the big showdown that we all knew was coming and I hope it's going to be super dramatic.

My last year at Hades Academy begins... With Abaddon looming on the horizon, I have to look any and everywhere to find help—even look to the one person I never thought I'd speak to again. Because the future of Hades might be at stake. And now Elysium Academy, too—because the guardians are gone. All totally missing. And we have to figure out why. I know I can trust my friends, and that Raines will fight to the death for me, but I can't trust anyone else now—least of all Camilla—even as we're forced to learn guardian skills. Because the very balance of the earth is falling apart.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
This semester has started off with a bang. Plenty of action, mystery, danger, suspense and adventure. Nova and her crew are still together hoping for normalcy, but it has only gotten further away. Now that the unthinkable has happened, the Regents solution is abominable. A group, led by hers truly, Nova, has been started. The resistance will do what is needed to hold back Chaos. Unfortunately, Chaos isn’t the only thing they must worry about because the Children of Abaddon were a success. This book will take you on an unbelievable, thrilling ride, with an ending that will leave you wanting more. I can’t wait for the next installment.
A new semester is about to start, and with it the final year of Nova's studies at the Hades Academy. But of course there's no rest for the wicked, as the saying goes. Just before the start of the semester, and with Raines gone on a secret mission, everything goes wrong. The Guardians have disappeared and the Regents have taken over the administration of the Academy. With the Guardians missing Chaos gets stronger with each passing day and Abaddon's return is iminent. In a race against time, Nova and company, with the help of a couple of unlikely allies, hatch a plan to find and free the Guardians. Will they succeed? Read on and find out in this fifth installment of the "Hades Academy"!!!
I absolutely loved this series! “Hades Academy: Fifth Semester” is back, so buckle your seat you are in for another wild ride with Nova and her friends. This is a well-written tale with a great storyline that flows smoothly from page to page. This tale has drama, suspense, and action. Join Nova as she continues to navigate her way through the Hades Academy, relationships and fighting evil. This is a must-read addition to the Hades Academy Series! Hades Academy:Fifth Semester by Abbie Lyons all s a 4 star read. Nova is now in her final year at Hades Academy and things are looking different, just before classes start there’s a bright flash of light and they find out that all the guardians have gone missing, finding that they need to rely on someone who has proven untrustworthy before doesn’t sit well with Nova and her friends try to fix things without getting caught. I really enjoyed this book and am excited for the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
With this being the last year at Hades Academy Nova and her friends want a normal year but that is not in the cards. Just before the year starts Raines goes on a secret mission. It starts with a bang that's for sure, and keeps on going from there. The Children of Abaddon have achieved what they wanted and the Guardians have disappeared and the Regents have taken over the Academy administration. Chaos is growing stronger and everyone knows the Abaddon will return soon. Will Nova and the gang save the Guardians before the world comes to a end we will find out.
The books regress. This one bordered on childish and overly simplistic. I lost interest few pages in. It either drags with unimaginative descriptions of classes and mundane dialogues or skims over parts that could actually be the bone and climax of the book. Author clearly is not developing the story and events, characters don't grow, they actually become more one dimensional as story goes. No development of relationships. The most idiotic responses and ideas are turned into pivotal points in the book and lacks any logic.
I am utterly disappointed. This book had a feel of childrens tale.
I loved the book. Nova is waiting the her last year at Hades Academy to begin. She would love to have a year where she doesn't have deal with saving the world at least that is her hope. Raines her boyfriend is on a secret mission to see his step-brother is prison to find out more about Children of Abaddon.
The semester gets off to a bad start when all the guardian disappear and it just gets worse from there.
This book continued seamlessly from the previous book. It is well written and the characters and story were both well developed. I loved seeing the character dynamics develop and evolve through the books. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, intrigue, emotion, hot chemistry and romance. I’d highly recommend this book and look forward to the next book in this series!!

It's Nova's last year of school and things are looking up...or are they? The guardians are gone and Nova and her friends are forced to learn the guardian duties until they return? How can they defend against Abadon's return? And he will return. What a delimma! Great storytelling and I can not wait for the finale!

Hades Academy: Fifth Semester by Abbie Lyons is a wonderful story to read. This is book number five in this wonderful series that I loved reading and can not wait to read book number six. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about magic, fantasy and paranormal romances in their stories.

Oh my gosh! I love these books! There's so much going on, and it's writtwn so well, I just fully involved in what's happening, my 1 question is, wth happened to the guardians? They were in purgatory, then they were not, but, where did they go? That lefr me a bit confused as there was no explanation at all. Other than that though, cool af.
I wanted to enjoy this book, but it’s all over the place. It became so tedious that I just couldn’t keep going. Nova went from interesting to maverick idiot and the world follows her. She’s not done anything to warrant that loyalty. Not truly. So much promise in this series, yet squandered.
This is a new semester for Nova at the Hades Academy. Now everything has gone crazy and with Raines gone on a secret mission, everything goes wrong. The Guardians have disappeared and now the administration of the Academy is token over.
This was great. Nova and her friends have now got to try and save the world from Chaos and Abbadon. With the Regents taking charge of the school and the Guardians are missing, Nova must come up with something or else the world is doomed. This was a great read and I love this series.
Nova is all about another normal Hades semester. But, with her, they will likely never happen. The end is near, but not included in this story which, sort of, ends in a cliffhanger.
I've read this series from the beginning including the prequel and I have to say I love it!!!😍😍 Well written great characters and the story is amazing!!
